The sunlight streamed through the convenience store's window, casting a warm glow on the neatly arranged shelves. The driver pulled me through the narrow aisles to the back where the convenience foods were displayed. He casually grabbed a few bags of bread and sausages, stuffing them into my arms before dragging me toward the Cash Register. 0

What should I do? I had little time left to seek help! 0

As we approached the Cash Register, I spotted a rotating rack filled with drinks and made up my mind. As we passed by, I discreetly raised my elbow and knocked a bottle off the shelf, causing it to crash to the ground with a loud clatter! 0

Just as I hoped, the Store Clerk frowned and looked over. I quickly shook my head at her, silently mouthing “Help me,” my eyes pleading for assistance. 0

However, she merely shot me an annoyed glare before turning her attention away... My heart sank. 0

The driver bent down to pick up the fallen drink and returned it to the shelf. He tightened his grip on me and whispered a warning, “Be careful!” 0

He placed the bread and sausages on the counter. “Get me another pack of Lan Bai Sha.” 0

“Just a moment,” the clerk replied, turning to search the shelves. After a moment, she pulled out an empty Cigarette Box. “Oh, we’re out here at the counter. There are some on that shelf in the back. Hey big guy, you’re tall—could you grab two packs for me?” 0

The driver hesitated but eventually nodded in agreement, clearly not wanting to stir up any unnecessary conflict. He shot me a warning look before following the clerk to get the cigarettes. 0

In that split second when he turned away, I quickly tore off a corner of the empty Cigarette Box and grabbed a pen from the counter, hastily writing "SOS." I pushed the note against the side of the Cash Register and quickly returned everything to its original state! 0

My heart raced as I completed this task! 0

Then, the driver pulled out crumpled bills to pay. The clerk glanced at him disdainfully as she muttered under her breath while tossing the money into the drawer. She casually picked up both the empty Cigarette Box and my SOS note! 0

Oh no! Please don’t look at it now! Look at it later! 0

I silently screamed in my mind, my throat dry with anxiety! 0

But she didn’t even glance at it; she simply tossed them into the trash... 0

I felt dizzy as despair washed over me. Struggling against tears, I followed the driver back to the car. 0

Once I was tied up again, the driver coldly regarded me and asked, "Are you hungry?" 0

I didn’t answer; I just stared blankly at him. He picked up a bag of bread, tore it open, and tossed it onto my lap. The aroma of fresh bread filled the car instantly, making me realize just how hungry I was. 0

Then he opened another bag for himself and began eating in silence. 0

I lowered my head and awkwardly tried to grab some bread with my bound hands, devouring it hungrily. After finishing, I licked my cracked lips and mustered up courage to speak: "Uncle, could... could you not cover my mouth? I promise I won’t scream; really." 0

The driver stared at me for a moment as if trying to pierce through me with his gaze. Finally, he scoffed, "If you dare scream, I'll kill you immediately!" 0

The car started moving again, heading toward an unknown destination. I leaned back in my seat, my mind racing... This man hadn’t truly harmed me so far; perhaps he just wanted to escape or needed me as leverage in case things got dire... What should I do? How could I save myself? 0
Suddenly, the car emitted a series of beeping sounds, and the red warning light indicating low fuel began to flash. The driver muttered a curse under his breath, "Damn it..." 0
