The car stopped at the back entrance of Pu Ai Hospital, and the three of them headed straight for the underground Mortuary.
After putting on gloves, Lin Mingchang immediately checked Wang Licheng's left ear. Sure enough, there was a tiny needle mark on the inner edge of his ear canal, identical to the one found on Zhou Zijun.
Captain Lu shook his head and said helplessly, "I checked it yesterday as well and asked the forensic team to conduct a blood test. Although the results might be inconclusive like Zhou Zijun's case, indicating no detectable toxins. I also reported this needle mark to my superior, but he insists that both cases are suicides caused by Academic Pressure leading to mental breakdown..."
Shen Tong lowered her gaze and softly said, "The malevolent energy and Death Qi surrounding Zhou Zijun and Wang Licheng's bodies flow in almost exactly the same manner. They both start from the needle mark in their ears and spread throughout their bodies like smoke."
Lin Mingchang leaned down to closely examine Wang Licheng's exposed torso, where tattoos resembling those of Zhou Zijun were visible. It now appeared that some symbols from Zhou Zijun's notebook were indeed very similar.
Lin Mingchang said to Captain Lu, "Captain Lu, shouldn't we take pictures of the tattoos on both Zhou Zijun and Wang Licheng for comparison?"
Captain Lu looked troubled. "I thought about that too, but my superior has ordered a quick closure of this case as a suicide. I can't even request a camera from the Police Station..."
"I understand." Lin Mingchang sighed lightly. "If Zigui and Xiaoshuang were here, it would be great. Zigui is well-versed in traditional Chinese medicine and might be able to determine if the deceased died from poisoning; Xiaoshuang's photography skills would also be incredibly helpful."
At that moment, Shen Tong suddenly spoke up, "I just remembered something. Yesterday at the Public Science Laboratory, there was a young staff member named Xu Guangyao who seemed suspicious; he had a similar smoky malevolent energy around him as the deceased."
Lin Mingchang pointed out, "Also, we need to find Professor Yang Guangming from the trio as soon as possible."
Captain Lu nodded. "Exactly. Although my superior wants this case closed quickly, I know it's not as simple as suicide. Let's go find Professor Yang Guangming. Additionally, I'll arrange for trusted colleagues to investigate Xu Guangyao."
After leaving Pu Ai Hospital, the three headed straight for Professor Yang Guangming's residence in Jiang'an District.
Captain Lu knocked on the door, and shortly after, a middle-aged woman answered.
Lin Mingchang greeted her politely, "Excuse me, are you Professor Yang Guangming's wife? We would like to visit Professor Yang regarding some academic questions."
Madam Yang had a kind face; she nodded at them with a smile and said, "The professor left early this morning to handle some verification work related to Chu Jian at the Public Science Laboratory."
