When several people returned to the Wuhan Police Station, it was still midnight. Captain Lu had not rested; instead, he decided to interrogate Xu Guangyao directly. On the way back, he had already heard Lin Mingchang describe what kind of cult the Gui Xu Society was and the purpose of their journey southward.
In the interrogation room, Xu Guangyao was handcuffed to a wooden chair. Lin Mingchang and the others were arranged in an observation room next door, watching through a two-way mirror and listening devices as Captain Lu interrogated Xu Guangyao.

Xu Guangyao lowered his head and remained silent for a long time before slowly speaking, "Do you know what Gui Xu is? The so-called Gui Xu is the place where all things are formed and resolved. All things are born here and return here. Our Gui Xu Society has been searching for lost ancient secret arts everywhere, and I am tasked with finding The Whisper of the Yellow Swan."
"Why?" Captain Lu pressed further.
"The Whisper of the Yellow Swan originates from ancient Chu witchcraft; it is an exquisite system of runes that can control others' minds and lives," Xu Guangyao lifted his head, meeting Captain Lu's gaze with a fervent light in his eyes. "Our Gui Xu Society wants to restore it for... a grander plan. We aim to reopen that door..."
"What exactly is that plan? What do you mean by 'reopening that door'?" Captain Lu slammed his hand on the table.
Xu Guangyao let out a chilling laugh, "Gui Xu will open, Tian Ji has moved; none of you can stop it!" After saying this, Xu Guangyao fell silent again. No matter how Captain Lu continued the interrogation, he merely sneered and refused to speak further.
After the interrogation concluded, Captain Lu had Xu Guangyao detained. He then chose to escalate the matter and went directly to report this special case to the Police Chief at the station. The Police Chief of Wuhan Police Station was in his forties and quite accomplished. After hearing Captain Lu's report, he took it very seriously.

Thus, on one hand, he secretly allowed Xu Guangyao to enter the Mortuary to tattoo and photograph the deceased; on the other hand, under Xu Guangyao's instructions, he helped suppress the case, attributing it to excessive Academic Pressure leading to a Chain Suicide. Zhang Jun's confession was undoubtedly the last straw that broke Xu Guangyao's back. With solid physical evidence, testimonies, and a chain of internal corruption, the case was finally officially classified as Murder.
As the truth of the case came to light, the reputations of those three remarkable scholars were restored, and their families finally received a just resolution. After the case was officially closed, the four of them, accompanied by Captain Lu, returned to the Hubei Provincial Public Science Laboratory, as they had something to hand over to Director Xu.
