Three steps... two steps... just one more step!
She was ready to stab the Jailor with the hairpin in her hand when suddenly a hand reached from behind and grabbed the hairpin. She widened her eyes as she looked at Qi Mo, who was originally lying on the ground, his pale face using the hairpin to sever the Jailor's artery, blood spraying three meters away...
The two men drinking nearby immediately sobered up upon seeing the blood on the ground. They cautiously picked up their knives from the table and slowly approached.
"Get behind me," he coughed. Su Peijiu quickly stood behind him, her eyes filled with concern. Was he okay?
"Who is there!! Who?" one of the Jailors shouted, tightening his grip on the knife handle. The two men pressed against the corner of the wall, feeling anxious.
They exchanged glances and then shouted as they rushed out. Qi Mo shot the hairpin forward, hitting one Jailor in the heart. As he fell, another Jailor's large knife was already in front of Qi Mo, the cold gleam of the blade flashing before Su Peijiu's eyes, making her heart race.
Qi Mo struck the Jailor's arm holding the knife and then violently elbowed his face. After a few hits, the Jailor loosened his grip on the knife and staggered back a few steps. Su Peijiu saw that his nose was bleeding profusely. Following him back was a flying knife that spun through the air and decapitated the Jailor...
Everything happened in an instant. By the time Su Peijiu reacted, there was already blood everywhere on the ground. She trembled as she patted Qi Mo, who was blocking her: "... Are you okay?"
In response, she received a body collapsing to the ground. Su Peijiu hurriedly struggled to lift him up and drape him over her shoulder. Just a few steps forward, she saw a deaf-mute food delivery person carrying a bucket walking towards them from outside. He glanced at Su Peijiu and then at the blood and dead bodies on the ground before silently continuing on his way.
Seeing that he had no intention of interfering, Su Peijiu decided to ignore him and continued toward the door with Qi Mo. She didn't know if Qi Rong truly believed that Qi Mo wouldn't survive; aside from those few Jailors at the entrance, no one else appeared.
Successfully bringing Qi Mo out of prison, she looked around. It was different from before; perhaps she had exited through another exit. In the darkness, she couldn't see what lay outside, but moving forward was better than staying put and waiting for death, especially since Qi Mo was barely hanging on.
Stumbling through a forest, Qi Mo slipped off her back countless times, and her body was scratched by sharp grass and branches. However, what puzzled Su Peijiu was that she never once thought about abandoning Qi Mo to escape alone; it didn't even cross her mind.
After finally passing a lake, she saw signs of life in the distance and quickly dragged Qi Mo toward it. What she didn't know was that as she moved closer, fog began to rise behind them, gradually enveloping their figures. When the fog cleared, those distant lights had vanished...
Su Peijiu initially thought it was just an ordinary household but realized upon approaching that it was a magnificent Pavilion. A lavish plaque hung above it with flowing script that read: "Nan Xie Tower."
To enter or not to enter? Su Peijiu felt something strange about this Nan Xie Tower, but after glancing at Qi Mo's increasingly pale face, she gritted her teeth and carried him inside.
Just a few steps after entering, the door behind them closed. Su Peijiu swallowed hard and shouted loudly: "May I ask if the master of this house could lend us some assistance? My brother is injured and needs treatment; we require this place for a moment."
"A stranger like you has mistakenly entered this place. I'll let you go this time, but you should leave quickly!" A woman's voice echoed from high above, sounding both distant and near.
Su Peijiu gently placed Qi Mo on the ground and stood there, looking up into the sky. Although she couldn't see the person, as long as they spoke, it would be easier to handle.
"My brother is seriously injured. I hope you can help us; I would be very grateful," she called out.
After a moment, the voice replied, "If you insist on staying here, you might face dire consequences. I kindly remind you, yet you refuse to listen?"
Su Peijiu understood that the other party was also a kind-hearted person and sighed in relief. "It's just that my brother's life is in danger. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't have intruded so abruptly."
"Fine, fine. This must be fate," the voice said as it drew closer. Su Peijiu saw a woman descending from above, dressed in a white gown embroidered with large crimson flowers. She had sharp eyebrows and looked spirited.
"Thank you, miss," Su Peijiu quickly expressed her gratitude and rushed to Qi Mo's side. "My brother is gravely injured; I had no choice but to act this way. I hope you can forgive me."
The woman expressionlessly reached out to check Qi Mo's pulse, then took out a piece of Gold Silk Cloth from her sleeve and spread it open. "He has suffered severe punishment and has used his true energy, but fortunately, he has protected his heart meridian and is not in immediate danger."
Upon hearing that there was no immediate danger to his life, Su Peijiu sighed in relief. Her gaze lingered on the Golden Needle on the Gold Silk Cloth. The woman noticed Su Peijiu's curiosity and explained, "This is our Nan Xie Tower's Golden Needle. You need to lay him flat while I perform the acupuncture."
Su Peijiu quickly complied and laid Qi Mo down half-supporting him.
"Unbutton his clothes," the woman instructed. Su Peijiu hesitated for a moment and did not move.
The woman frowned. "Aren't you siblings? Please hurry; we can't let others discover us, or I won't be able to save you."
Su Peijiu hurriedly reached to unbutton Qi Mo's clothing, and Yue Niang's ring suddenly caught the woman's eye.
"Who gave you this?" The woman grabbed Su Peijiu's hand with an urgent look in her eyes.
Su Peijiu glanced at the ring on her hand, hesitating. She wondered if she should mention Yue Niang; if this person was indeed involved in harming Yue Niang before, wouldn't she be inviting trouble? If she had known, she would have hidden the ring away.
The young woman, Su Peijiu, remained silent but understood in her heart. She then released her grip on Su Peijiu's hand and smiled shyly, "I was just so excited to see something from the Moon Master. Our Nan Xie Tower hasn't seen this ring for hundreds of years."
"Hundreds of years?"
"Yes." The girl nodded and suddenly tore open Qi Mo's clothing. The Golden Needle flew out as if it were soaring from the Gold Silk Cloth, quickly piercing his entire body. "Ever since our Moon Master was killed by that Poisonous Woman from Cangjian Villa, the subsequent Master of the Building in Nan Xie Tower has never seen this ring."
"You..." Su Peijiu's mouth twitched as she watched the girl playfully stab and then remove the Golden Needle like a child playing house, finally seeing her put away the Gold Silk Cloth.
"No one can live for hundreds of years except for that Poisonous Woman from Cangjian Villa. If the Moon Master hadn't been killed by her, perhaps he would still be alive today." The girl's gaze never left Su Peijiu's hand, and her intense stare almost made Su Peijiu think she was going to snatch the ring.
Su Peijiu stepped forward to fix Qi Mo's clothing and turned to look at the girl. "How can you be sure this ring belongs to your Moon Master? I found it on the mountain."
"Impossible." The girl quickly denied it. "This ring bears the mark of the Moon Master. If the Master of the Building hadn't been willing to give it to you, you would have died the moment you put it on."
Su Peijiu: "..." As expected, strangers shouldn't casually collect ghostly items.
"I'm just so happy! I need to tell everyone in Nan Xie Tower. This is a perfect time since Nan Xie Tower is currently leaderless. Your sudden appearance must be a sign from the Moon Master!" The girl excitedly turned and ran inside before Su Peijiu could even call out.
She had initially thought the girl had a cold personality, but she didn't expect her to be so thrilled about Yue Niang's belongings.
Her gaze lingered briefly on the shining Silver Ring on her finger before drifting away.
Now that Qi Mo was fine, she should leave. Regardless of whether Nan Xie Tower was in chaos or not, Yue Niang only asked her to deliver a message to her lover at Cangjian Villa; she had no intention of taking over this chaotic Nan Xie Tower.
She barely had time for revenge, let alone take over an unfamiliar Nan Xie Tower.
After finally helping Qi Mo up and resting him on her shoulder, she took a step forward when a piercing female voice called out from behind, "Master of the Building, where are you going?!"
Su Peijiu was so startled that she dropped Qi Mo onto the ground. She hurriedly turned around and saw a woman around thirty years old with lingering charm, dressed similarly to the previous girl, rushing out. She grabbed Su Peijiu's hand and asked again, "Master of the Building, where are you going?"
Su Peijiu coughed lightly and said, "Go home."
"This is your home; where are you going?" The woman pulled Su Peijiu to sit in the central chair, signaling the earlier girl to help Qi Mo up from the ground and bring him inside. Then she turned to Su Peijiu, her eyes filled with tears: "I finally get to see someone with the Moon Master ring in my lifetime; I have no regrets in this life."
Su Peijiu: "Uh..."
The woman wiped the corner of her eye and smiled, "Look at me, I'm so happy to see you that I forgot to introduce myself. I am the temporary acting head of Nan Xie Tower. Now that the Master of the Building has returned, I can finally put down my burden. Since the Master of the Building looks quite young, just call me Flower Mother. That girl just now is Hua Qian, you can call her Qian. Many others from the tower have gone out to complete missions and will return later for introductions."
Su Peijiu felt that this Flower Mother was getting more and more outrageous and quickly interrupted, "I haven't decided to be the Master of the Building of Nan Xie Tower."
Flower Mother was not flustered. She looked at the ring on Su Peijiu's hand and slowly spoke, "This ring would mean certain death for an ordinary person. She shouted in despair again; indeed, one should not casually take things from ghosts! It was a matter of life and death!
Seeing Su Peijiu's expression, Flower Mother smiled slightly and then tempted her, "Being part of our Nan Xie Tower has many benefits. For example, tasks that you cannot accomplish on your own can be easily handled with just a command; Nan Xie Tower can accomplish them effortlessly. Plus, Nan Xie Tower is wealthy enough to rival nations; even if you just sit back and enjoy, you could live comfortably for several lifetimes. How about it? Sounds like a worthwhile deal, right?"
Leaning back in her chair, Su Peijiu weakly replied, "I want to destroy Yuan Cang. Can Nan Xie Tower do that?"
Flower Mother paused for a moment before her smile deepened: "Master of the Building, perhaps you underestimate what Nan Xie Tower can do. As long as you desire it, Nan Xie Tower can present it before you."
