I turned to look at Yang Fan, who was standing with his hands in his coat pockets, his head lowered as if searching for something. Suddenly, he stumbled over a brick and nearly lost his balance. Rubbing his knee, he muttered a curse under his breath before continuing on. 0

After walking half a mile down the bustling street filled with New Year goods, Yang Fan and I arrived in front of a uniquely designed store with a sign that read: Thorn Flower Dance School. Recalling my previous experiences, I confirmed that this was indeed the place and walked in with Yang Fan. 0

The dance classroom was divided into two rooms, one teaching Waltz and the other Vienna Waltz (which included both slow and fast versions). The two exits were separated by more than twenty meters, and the dimly lit corridor outside added to the atmosphere. Before we even reached the left classroom door, the soft strains of a slow Waltz drifted out, accompanied by Sister Yin's playful reprimand: "Oh dear, why are you so clumsy? You always make me step on your feet!" 0

Hearing her somewhat unreasonable complaint made even the usually expressionless Yang Fan smile. 0

The reason Yang Fan and I found ourselves here was all thanks to Sister Yin. The West City Police Station was preparing for an end-of-year celebration, and Sister Yin suggested that Yang Fan and I assist her in solving several cases. Although we hadn't contributed much, it was recognized that every little bit helped. Coincidentally, the chief of the West City Police Station was an old acquaintance of Yang Fan's, so we became special guests for their year-end celebration. Even so, we had no intention of performing; however, Chen Yin somehow contacted my girlfriend Xia Xiaoshi and they became close friends. Under the pressure from these two women, I ended up as their practice partner for the Waltz while Yang Fan vowed to resist but ultimately couldn't escape being part of the audience. Thus, with the premise of accompanying Yang Fan for further investigation in the afternoon, I brought him to this dance classroom. 0

As we entered the Waltz Classroom, we were greeted by a vast space measuring about thirty meters long and fifteen meters wide, illuminated entirely by fluorescent lights with no windows. The door opened in the middle of one wall, and about seven or eight meters to the right was a large glass partition separating the two Waltz classrooms. At first glance, it appeared to be a mirror; it wasn't until I noticed the different movements of people on either side that I realized it wasn't. 0

Upon entering, we saw Chen Yin with her hands on her hips scolding a visibly embarrassed Xiao He while Xiao Shi stood by laughing uncontrollably. When she spotted us, Chen Yin stopped talking; Xiao He seized the opportunity to dash off for water while Xia Xiaoshi smiled and beckoned us over. 0

"We've been waiting for you both for ages," Xiao Shi said affectionately as she linked her arm through mine and urged me to take off my down jacket to prepare for practice. Meanwhile, Yang Fan leaned against the heating unit by the dance floor like an outsider, seemingly still pondering over that plan. 0

Sister Yin greeted me but suddenly turned to Yang Fan and said, "Hey you! Come over here and practice dancing with me; He Banqiao is too clumsy." Despite her seemingly reluctant tone, I could detect a hint of eagerness. 0

Yang Fan frowned deeply and didn’t respond. This made me, Xiao Shi, and Xiao He burst into laughter. Chen Yin's face flushed red as she pointed at Xiao He angrily: "Hey! I'm talking about you! You useless Xiao He, come back here!" Xiao He stifled his laughter and returned to Chen Yin's side. 0

As the music began, Xiao Shi and I started dancing to the rhythm; however, my thoughts began to wander. 0

Yang Fan returned home late that day. According to him, he hadn’t found any leads at all. Moreover, he had secretly investigated Xinlan Real Estate for an entire afternoon but found nothing unusual; the employees seemed unperturbed by their successful bid this time around. This suggested that Luo Xinyu's hypothesis might very well be correct. Yet this raised an unavoidable question: how did the proposal end up in Xinlan Real Estate's hands? 0

Yang Fan went to confirm that the elevator indeed remained on the ground floor that night. Climbing through the elevator shaft to reach the top floor and then entering the office was not impossible, but it required a lot of technical support. Some employees working late on various floors had not noticed any abnormalities with the elevator, which inadvertently dismissed this grand scheme. Thus, the three segments of stairs captured in the video became the only viable route. 0
