As the sun sets, Yun Yan and Zhang Jin arrived at her residence under the guidance of High Priest.
The place is filled with an ancient atmosphere, and the totems and runes hanging on the walls seem to contain a mysterious power under the illumination of the firelight.
In the home of the High Priest, various peculiar items are displayed, but the most eye-catching is undoubtedly the crystal ball placed in the center of the table. It is transparent and profound, as if it can draw people's souls deep into it.
Zhang Jin's gaze involuntarily fell on the crystal ball, and that familiar feeling made her heart tremble slightly.
She remembered the last time she came here, the image that appeared in the crystal ball was a premonition of her intertwined destiny with a certain man.
"Don't be afraid," the voice of the High Priest broke the silence. Her hand gently touched the crystal ball, and ripples began to appear on its surface. "This time, you will witness the prophecy in the crystal ball."
Yun Yan Standing next to Zhang Jin, her eyes were also filled with curiosity and anticipation. She knew that this ritual might reveal their future destiny and perhaps provide them with guidance.
High Priest began chanting the ancient incantations, and the light in the crystal ball gradually brightened, changing from a light blue to a deep purple.
As the incantation's rhythm continues, something seems to slowly emerge in the crystal ball.
Zhang Jin and Yun Yan hold their breath, staring fixedly at the gradually clear image.
The purple light in the crystal ball fluctuated once again, this time seeming to weave in the air, slowly depicting a new scene.
As the High Priest incantation deepens, a quaint stone bridge spans a rushing river, its waters shimmering silver in the moonlight.
In the scene, a warrior clad in ancient battle robes stands at the bridge's edge, wielding a long sword with its tip pointing towards the sky, as if communicating with some unseen force between heaven and earth.
The warrior's face is resolute, with eyes revealing an unyielding determination.
Zhang Jin felt a stir in her heart, as if she sensed a familiar aura from the warrior, reminiscent of the vague figure of a man, but the person in this scene was clearly not him.
She couldn't help but whisper, "Who is this? What is his connection to the God of the Underworld?"
The High Priest's voice was deep and mysterious, "I'm not sure either. This is the first time I've seen this person... He appears in people's darkest moments."
Yun Yan Near the crystal ball, her eyes reflected the figure of a stone bridge and a warrior, as if searching for a connection between herself and the scene.
High PriestContinuing, he said, "This bridge is the path to the unknown. You will face many challenges, but remember, true strength comes from inner determination and belief."
The scene changes again, this time showing a dense bamboo forest. The wind blows, causing the bamboo leaves to rustle, and a clear stream meanders through the forest.
By the stream, an old man is meditating with his eyes closed. There seems to be a faint green light flowing around him.
"Who is this?" Zhang Jin asked.
A hint of respect flashed in the eyes of the High Priest. "He is the Guardian, a symbol of wisdom. You may encounter him, and he will provide you with the necessary guidance."
The light of the crystal ball gradually dimmed and eventually returned to calm. The atmosphere in the room also quieted down, leaving only the gentle breathing of High Priest and the sound of the night wind brushing the leaves outside the window.
Zhang Jin and Yun Yan stood there quietly, their hearts still shaken.
"These images, are they all omens of the future?" Zhang Jin's voice carried a hint of uncertainty.
High Priest nodded, her gaze profound. "The future is full of variables, but each image contains the wisdom of the universe. They are guidance, as well as tests."
Yun Yan gently held Zhang Jin's hand, giving her support. She knew that no matter how difficult the future path may be, they would advance hand in hand.
"How should we prepare?" Yun Yan asked, her voice filled with determination.
High Priest stood up and walked to a wooden cabinet, opening one of the drawers and taking out two small bags woven with intricate patterns.
She handed the bags to Yun Yan and Zhang Jin: "These bags contain protective talismans for you. They will guide you in critical moments."
When Zhang Jin took the talisman, her gaze inadvertently swept over the inside of the drawer and discovered an exquisite wooden tray. On the tray lay a piece of fur, and unexpectedly, a broken black handle was placed on top of it.
Curiously, she asked, "High Priest, what is the black item in the drawer? Can I take a look?"
High Priest nodded and took out the item from the wooden cabinet - a clearly battle-worn crossbow.
"Of course," High Priest replied, turning again to the wooden cabinet, this time taking out an unusual item - a broken crossbow.
The design of this crossbow is exquisite, but it has clearly been through countless battles, as it is broken into two pieces.
The crossbow arm is broken and severely damaged beyond repair, apparently unable to shoot arrows again. But even so, it still exudes an unusually strong aura.
"This is a broken crossbow, which once belonged to a great Nahama ancestor, my 89th generation High Priest."
The High Priest explained, "The name of this bow has been lost to history, but legend has it that it helped the priest shoot and kill a black bear attacking the tribe from a hundred miles away. But it was also on that occasion that this crossbow broke just like this..."
She handed the broken crossbow to Zhang Jin, her tone full of meaning: "Although it is broken, this crossbow may guide you to discover your inner strength and awaken courage in times of despair."
"It may seem useless now, but when you understand its true value, it may become your strongest spiritual support."
Zhang Jin took over the broken crossbow, she could feel the weight of the cold black broken crossbow in her palm, as well as the potential it contained.
"We will bravely face the upcoming challenges with these items given by the high priest," Zhang Jin said.
The voice of the High Priest echoed in the room, "No matter what difficulties you encounter, never forget that the greatest power comes from the light within you."
