Actually, Xiao Yao wanted to go out and explore as soon as she arrived. It was not easy to come to the capital, and if she didn't go out to see the local customs and the living standards of the people here, she would feel like she was letting herself down. 0

However, she was unfamiliar with the place, and even before entering the city, her reputation had already preceded her. As an unmarried woman going out alone, she would be a moving target, very conspicuous. Moreover, with the recent commotion caused by Sun Ruoyun, Xiao Yao's notoriety had only increased. She heard from the servants that after wandering around, everyone was talking about how the prince showed no mercy to General Sun for the sake of his beloved. 0

Xiao Yao had also heard that Sun Ping was a person who valued his reputation above all else; nothing was more important than his face. Now, He Yu's actions might have made Sun Ping hold a grudge against him. 0

While getting dressed, Xiao Yao asked He Yu, who was sitting nearby, "Hey, did they take Sun Ruoyun back in the end?" 0

"Of course they did," He Yu smiled. "They took her back around midnight." 0

"Midnight?!" Xiao Yao exclaimed in disbelief, her eyes wide. "I thought you said you came back early in the evening? How did it end up being midnight?" 0

"Because there were fewer people at midnight." 0

"..." Well, Xiao Yao had to admit that this reason made sense. 0

After getting ready, Xiao Yao turned around in front of He Yu and asked, "How do I look? Good or not?" 0

The dress she wore today was one that He Yu had sent her previously. Although Mrs. Xiao had prepared quite a few outfits when she arrived, girls always liked new clothes. Plus, since she was going out with He Yu today, Xiao Yao thought wearing something he gave her would make him happier. 0

She wore a floor-length gown embroidered with peonies in gold and silver threads that shimmered under the sunlight streaming into the room. Over it was a light purple sheer long shirt that revealed her long, fair neck. Her makeup was simple without excessive hair accessories; just a jade hairpin tucked into her hair and a little floral decoration on her forehead added a perfect finishing touch. Seeing Xiao Yao like this made He Yu's heart flutter; he grabbed her hand and pulled her into an embrace, whispering in her ear, "You look so alluring like this; I suddenly regret bringing you out." 0

Xiao Yao's face turned crimson all the way to her neck at his words. She stammered but couldn't get a word out; instead, she pushed He Yu away to signal him to let go. 0

He Yu didn't know why he felt this way; no matter how Xiao Yao looked in his eyes, she was always so tempting. If it weren't for adhering to ancestral rules, he would have wanted to take action right then and there. 0

But that was naturally not acceptable. 0

He Yu helped Xiao Yao up and smiled, saying, "Alright, with our ancestors' rules in place, I will definitely follow them!" 0

"..." Once Xiao Yao steadied herself, she shot He Yu a glare. Did he plan to do something right here if there were no rules? Looking around, she noticed that everyone who had been attending to her had already cleared out completely; they were incredibly self-aware. 0

With no one left to assist her, Xiao Yao had to tidy up her slightly messy clothes herself. He Yu stepped forward to help smooth her hair and checked their appearance in the mirror from all angles before smiling and saying, "My princess, are we ready to go out now?" 0

At this moment, an hour had already passed since they were supposed to leave... 0

"Humph, who is your princess!" Xiao Yao stretched out her hand, but her words were still quite proud. 0

He Yu didn't mind at all, lightly laughing as he took Xiao Yao's hand. The two of them walked out hand in hand, and the carriage was already waiting outside. 0

He Yu got into the carriage first, then turned around to lift Xiao Yao up. Once they were both seated, He Yu said, "Let's go." 0

The carriage slowly moved forward, with Xiao Yao comfortably nestled in He Yu's arms. She asked, "Where are we going?" 0

"First, I'll take you somewhere for lunch, and then we can decide where to go in the afternoon. How does that sound?" He Yu replied with a smile. He had made up his mind to spend the whole day with Xiao Yao, so he had cleared his schedule. 0

"Okay." Xiao Yao obediently agreed. After a morning of fussing around, she hadn't felt well that morning and had little appetite for breakfast. After Xiao Mo Yi left, she had gone back to sleep and then got up to fuss around again. By now, she was quite hungry, so going out to eat was definitely a good idea. 0

After a short while, the carriage stopped in front of a rather luxurious restaurant. 0

He Yu carried Xiao Yao down from the carriage and led her inside. It was indeed very quiet once they entered; the restaurant had three floors, with the second and third floors mostly being guest rooms. Dining was done in the large hall on the first floor. However, judging by the decor, it seemed unlikely that ordinary people could afford to dine here; otherwise, it wouldn't be so quiet at mealtime. 0

The shopkeeper saw He Yu appear at the door and immediately put down his abacus to personally welcome him. "Your Highness has arrived! Please come in!" 0

He Yu nodded and led Xiao Yao inside. The shopkeeper seemed very familiar with He Yu's habits; without needing to ask any questions, he directly took them to a window-side table. The shopkeeper smiled and said, "Your Highness, shall we go with the usual?" 0

At this moment, the shopkeeper's attitude was neither servile nor overbearing, and his eyes did not wander; he was clearly someone who had seen the world. Xiao Yao felt reassured. 0

"That sounds about right; let's stick with the usual," He Yu nodded. 0

"Yes. Also, Your Highness, since it's hot in summer now, would you like me to prepare a sweet soup or something? It might help cool you down," the shopkeeper continued to ask. 0

He Yu looked at Xiao Yao across from him. "What do you think?" 0

Xiao Yao thought for a moment and said, "Sure, I have no problem with that!" 0

He Yu nodded and turned to the shopkeeper. "Alright then, you can decide on the sweet soup." 0

"Understood." The shopkeeper replied before turning around to place their order. 0

Xiao Yao curiously asked, "Is there sweet soup in the north? Isn't it sweet broth?" 0

"No," He Yu smiled gently and explained to Xiao Yao, "The chef at this restaurant is from Min Nan, and he is used to making sweet soups, so the restaurant has probably gotten accustomed to it." 0

"Ah, I love Guangdong's sweet soups! They are sweet but not greasy, very delicious!" Xiao Yao clapped her hands with a smile. 0

He Yu knew that the shopkeeper's attempt to please was successful, so she playfully pinched Xiao Yao's nose and continued chatting casually. 0

Just then, they suddenly heard a voice from behind, "Oh, isn't this Xuanping Wang? Ah, this must be the princess that the prince brought back from afar!" 0

He Yu's expression darkened instantly. 0

Daring to speak to him like that, there were probably only a few people in the entire capital who would do so. 0

He Yu forced a smile and turned around, "Fourth Prince, that's right, this is my princess. Yao Yao, this is the Fourth Prince." 0
