According to the last letter, Yu Long had already broken the Wood Seal; Earth was in between, Metal was due west, Wood was due east, Water was due north—the direction of the explosion... now they just needed Yumeng's scouting results!
So what exactly happened with that explosion? It turned out that since Long Shan began deploying his retreat plan, except for one Hen Duan who should have been guarding them, the other four had started firing in an orderly manner. Shang Qing was their overall rear guard.
Thus, Shao Meng and Ran Xing used vitality to wrap leaves and discovered the direction in which vitality was being absorbed as they arrived at Golden Seal. To their surprise, there was actually no one there.
