In Jack and Laura's room, the air became particularly heavy, as if it had absorbed the furrowed brows and deep unease in their hearts. 0

Jack sat on the edge of the bed, his rough hands holding his head, looking deeply lost in thought. His face was covered with wrinkles and shadows, as if he had weathered countless storms, especially in recent times. 0

Laura sat beside him, her face more haggard than Jack's, her eyes somewhat vacant, as if she had lost her perception of the world. 0

Jack took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions. "I feel like we should do something," he said slowly, his voice echoing in the room, breaking the long silence. 0

Laura Lifted her head slightly and met Jack's gaze. "Are you saying we should go and investigate the origin of that door?" 0

Jack nodded. "Yes, at the very least we need to determine what it is and why it appeared here." 0

Laura fell silent for a moment, then said, "Do you remember Jis, Amy, and Nick's encounter in the world behind the door? Everything there was too eerie. I think we should prevent the children from entering that place again." 0

Jack gave a bitter smile. "How do we stop them? We're not even sure when or where that door will appear, let alone its origins and purpose." 0

"Maybe we can ask the neighbors nearby?" Laura suggested. 0

Jack furrowed his brow, "Are you referring to the retired Broadway actor Alan, or the retired clergyman Francis, or the retired lead singer of the band Michelle? One of them might know something?" 0

Laura pondered for a moment, "Maybe. Everyone has a past they don't want to talk about. Perhaps one of them knows something about this door." 0

Jack chuckled bitterly, "So who should we go look for first?" 0

"I think we should first find Alan. He has been living in this area for a long time, and maybe he knows some things that we don't know." 0

Jack hesitated for a moment, then decided to agree with Laura's suggestion. He stood up, his tired eyes becoming determined, as if he had made a daunting but necessary decision. 0

"Okay, I'll go talk to Alan first thing tomorrow morning," Jack said. 0

Laura gently held Jack's hand. "Thank you, my dear. But no matter what the outcome is, we must be prepared for the worst." 0

Jack gently kissed Laura's hand, then walked out of the room, filled with unease and foreboding. He knew that this mysterious door might not just be a problem for their family, but could be a threat to the entire community, and even a broader range. 0

As he walked out of the room and closed the door, he felt a chill creeping up from behind. He turned around and saw the large tree outside looking even more eerie in the moonlight, its twisted branches seeming to merge with the left side of the house, becoming even more unsettling at that moment. 0

He took a deep breath, trying to calm the fear in his heart, and then continued walking towards the living room. 0

The heavy wooden floor creaked under his feet, as if it was also warning him of something. 0

He walked to the bookcase, his gaze sweeping over rows of books and photos, finally stopping at an old family album. 0

After hesitating for a moment, he ultimately took it down and gently flipped it open. 0

Jack began to browse through the traces of his family history, and a few photos caught his attention - a family portrait under a tree, which happened to be the large tree next to their new home. 0

Jack's hands trembled slightly, and he felt a sense of unease. This tree had a history of at least four hundred years. 0

Suddenly, the phone next to the bookcase rang, startling Jack and almost causing the photo album to fall to the ground. 0

"Hello?" Jack answered the phone, his voice trembling. 0

"Jack, it's me, Alan. I think we need to talk." The other person spoke in a slow and drawn-out tone. 0

Jack instantly understood that this must be related to that door. 0

The next morning, Jack arrived at Alan's house. Alan is a retired Broadway actor, and his house is filled with posters of stage plays and various artworks. However, Jack was not in the mood to appreciate them at the moment. 0

"Coffee or tea?" Alan asked. 0

"No, thank you. Let's just get straight to the point," Jack said nervously. 0

"Okay," Alan nodded, "About that door, I think you've realized by now that it's not ordinary." 0

"What is it? Why is it appearing in our house?" 0

Alan sighed, "This community has a secret, a secret that everyone is afraid to mention. That door is a passage to a place called puppet world." 0

Jack was taken aback, "puppet world?" 0

"Yes. That world is governed by someone called The Puppet's Ghost Mother, she lures children into that world and traps them there forever." 0

Jack shivered, "So, what should we do?" 0

Alan looked at Jack seriously, "Close that door and never open it again. And you must tell your family to stay away from that tree." 0

"Got it, thank you, Alan," Jack stood up, feeling very heavy-hearted. 0

"Don't mention it, it's the least I can do. But please remember, The Puppet's Ghost Mother is very cunning and dangerous, you must remain vigilant at all times." 0

Jack nodded and then left Alan's house, returning to his own home. All the way, he was thinking about Alan's words and that eerie puppet world. 0

Upon returning home, he immediately entered the study, turned on his laptop, and began browsing various information about puppet and eerie phenomena. He wanted to find a clue or explanation, hoping to understand what they were really facing. 0

At that moment, he suddenly felt something was amiss behind him. A cold breeze blew in through the window crack, prompting him to involuntarily think of the eerie door and the large tree at home. 0

"What on earth is going on?" he couldn't help but wonder. 0

Then, he began searching online for the history of this small town, especially information about the huge tree near their new home. 0

He found some old newspaper clippings mentioning some missing persons cases that had occurred here many years ago, and those missing people were never found. 0

Night fell, Amy and Nick returned to their rooms, and the tranquility behind the door contrasted sharply with the sound of the wind outside. 0

Amy sat on the edge of the bed, her gaze falling on the puppet sent by Alan, which involuntarily reminded her of Jis. 0

The dim light of the phone screen illuminated her face. But in her hand, she was playing with the puppet that Alan had sent. This puppet looked remarkably similar to Jis. 0

"Why do you look so much like Jis?" Amy said to the puppet. 0

puppet As if it heard her words, but it didn't respond. Yet Amy could feel an inexplicable connection, just like the one between her and Jis. 0

Amy thought to herself, "Surely Jis is also very worried about us, but the world he's in is the real danger." 0

She put down the puppet, took a deep breath, placed her phone on the bedside table, and turned off the bedside lamp. 0

The room fell into darkness, but Amy's heart had a glimmer of light. 0

"Jis, I will find a way to solve all this, so you don't have to stay in that dangerous place anymore." 0

In her heart, Amy silently vowed, feeling a real but invisible connection between Jis, even that puppet. This connection was like a beam of light cutting through the darkness, bringing a sense of comfort. 0
