Liao Jiannong confidently walked up to him, reaching out a hand to touch his pale face, when a large hand suddenly came from behind and grabbed his wrist.
"Who..." Liao Jiannong turned his head to meet Yan Yulong's cold black eyes, and his voice immediately caught in his throat.
Yan Yulong expressionlessly twisted his arm behind him.
"Wah..."
Liao Jiannong cried out in pain, tears welling up in his eyes. The few people holding Xia Xihe looked on in panic as their leader was being tormented, but they dared not intervene. Xia Xihe was stunned by the sudden turn of events.
Liao Jiannong's arm felt as if it were about to break, and he cried out for mercy: "Dragon... Brother Long! Please spare me... spare me!"
With a cigarette dangling from his mouth, Yan Yulong's beautifully shaped lips curled into a cold smile before he finally let go of him.
Liao Jiannong supported his injured arm, trembling as he knelt on the ground.
Yan Yulong flicked the burning cigarette with his fingers, and it accurately hit Skinny Monkey's face, leaving a red mark.
"Ah--!!" Skinny Monkey covered his face and let out a piercing scream.
The others were so frightened that they lost control and quickly abandoned Xia Xihe.
Yan Yulong, with smoke curling from his thin lips, calmly uttered one word: "Scram."
A group of people hurriedly helped Skinny Monkey and Liao Jiannong up, scrambling away in fear.
Xia Xihe dazedly lifted his head to meet Yan Yulong's gaze, momentarily unable to recover from the sudden change.
After a while, he quickly adjusted his torn clothes, brushed off the grass clippings from his hair, pressed his hands on his legs, bowed slightly, and said with a mix of fear and embarrassment: "Thank you for saving me."
Although this person was terrifying, he was still his benefactor.
Yan Yulong looked at him, his eyes filled with a strange smile.
Xia Xihe stood up straight and realized that his glasses had fallen during the chaos. He hurriedly ran back to where he had fallen to search for them.
"Ah... luckily they didn't break," Xia Xihe said with relief as he picked up his glasses and put them on.
He turned around and found that Yan Yulong had followed him. Now that he was wearing his glasses, he could truly see the other person's appearance.
The boy in front of him was about the same age, but he was over a head taller, and his build was almost twice as large.
With broad shoulders and long legs, he had the standard model physique. His face was incredibly handsome, with features as finely chiseled as if carved by a knife, rivaling the popular youth idols of the time. However, the dark aura surrounding him gave no hint of an "idol" vibe; instead, he resembled a sinister young tyrant, instilling fear in others.
Xia Xihe dared not look directly at him. He glanced at the girl with a gloomy expression and quickly recalled what they had just done. His face flushed slightly as he lowered his head in embarrassment.
"I'm sorry to have disturbed you... I... I'll take my leave now..."
Xia Xihe hurriedly ran away, while Yan Yulong quickly followed after him.
"Yan Yulong! Yan Yulong!" the girl shouted in an attempt to regain his attention, but Yan Yulong ignored her and continued to pursue Xia Xihe, leaving her alone to sulk in place.
Xia Xihe absentmindedly returned to the dim classroom, took out his backpack from the drawer, and turned around only to find Yan Yulong standing outside the door.
"Uh?" Xia Xihe timidly spoke up, "Excuse me... is there something you need?"
Yan Yulong strode inside, his tall figure casting a shadow that enveloped Xia Xihe completely.
"You haven't repaid me yet." His deep voice carried a hint of a seductive rasp, causing Xia Xihe to take a step back while clutching his backpack.
Oh my, it turns out this person helped him because he wanted something in return. What could he possibly offer as repayment?
"Uh... but I..." Xia Xihe looked at his situation and awkwardly replied, "I'm sorry... I don't have anything valuable on me..."
Yan Yulong reached out, his fingers ambiguously brushing over his bright red lips.
"That's simple, just offer yourself," he said casually.
"Huh?" Xia Xihe, who was slower to react than others, completely didn't understand.
"I mean, repay me with your body," Yan Yulong's smile grew more pronounced.
"Uh... what does it mean to repay with my body..." Xia Xihe's mind couldn't wrap around it, thinking he couldn't possibly want him to be a slave or servant or something.
Yan Yulong realized that this little guy was quite dull. Unable to communicate with words, he decided to use "body" for direct communication.
He lifted Xia Xihe's chin and gradually leaned down.
Just as their faces were only three centimeters apart, a male voice came from outside: " Xihe -- Xihe --are you there?"
Xia Xihe recognized the voice and turned around in surprise, shouting, "Dad! Dad! I'm in the classroom!"
A middle-aged man in a suit arrived at the sound. Yan Yulong unhappily released Xia Xihe, who immediately ran to his father's side.
"I'm sorry, there was a terrible traffic jam outside..." Father Xia wiped his sweat and said, "Did you wait long? Are you okay?"
"No... those bullies came looking for me again..."
"Huh? They came again? Did you get hurt?" Father Xia asked anxiously, grabbing his son's shoulders to examine him closely.
"No, I just fell down and my clothes got torn..." Xia Xihe answered obediently.
"Sigh... Your mother made you learn Taekwondo, but it seems to have no effect at all?"
"No, it's useful," Xia Xihe quickly explained. "It's just that there were too many of them, and I couldn't handle it. Luckily, a classmate helped me..."
"Classmate? Where?"
"That one..." Xia Xihe pointed to where Yan Yulong was standing, only to find it empty. "Huh? He left?"
Xia Xihe walked to the window and leaned out to look down. Yan Yulong had jumped out of the window at some point, and all Xia Xihe could see was his receding figure.
" Xihe? Where's your classmate?" Father Xia continued to ask.
"Oh... he already left..."
"Left? Well, that's fine. You can thank him properly another day."
"Um..." Speaking of thanks... Could it be that he really wants me to be his servant? What should I do then... Xia Xihe thought fearfully.
Little did Xia Xihe know that her future days would be far more "exciting" than being a servant.
The first day of school marked the beginning of Xia Xihe's thrilling life.
