A month has passed, and the school has finally returned to a semblance of calm.
Shinichi stood at the front door of his house, took a deep breath, and said to his parents, "I'm going to school now."
During this time, Tamiya Ryoko continued to attend school as usual, as if nothing had happened. But Shinichi still felt guarded and hostile towards her.
As he walked through the school gate, he felt as though countless pairs of eyes were watching him from the shadows. He couldn't help but tense his muscles and quicken his pace.
Although I haven't heard of anyone being harmed near Tamiya Ryoko, Shinichi is convinced that she must still be carrying out her killings. Whenever this thought comes to his mind, he feels a wave of unease and fear.
"I can't let her continue like this," Shinichi said to himself in his heart, his fists involuntarily clenching.
Walking into the classroom, Shinichi saw Tamiya Ryoko sitting at her desk, writing her assignment without even looking up. Her indifferent face showed no expression, like an inanimate object.
Shinichi sat at his own desk, a bitter smile playing at the corner of his mouth. He knew that beneath the appearance of tranquility, a hidden current was surging, and he had to make a decision to truly put an end to it all.
Shinichi took out the keys from home, took a deep breath, and opened the door to walk in.
The atmosphere at home was as usual, warm and quiet, but the pressure in Shinichi's mind was like hidden fireworks, ready to explode at any moment.
He walked into the study, where "Right" was sitting at the desk, engrossed in reading. Shinichi bit his lip and decided to speak up: "We should eliminate Tamiya Ryoko."
Right glanced up at Shinichi with a somewhat puzzled expression. "I used to be too timid before, but now I feel like I can't just let her go unchecked anymore," Shinichi said with a hint of determination in his voice.
"What's gotten into you? Even I'm not sure I can defeat her, let alone with Rimi and Mi," Right responded, then shifted his gaze back to his books.
"Why do you say that?" Shinichi asked with a furrowed brow, looking puzzled.
"Tamiya Ryoko is different from Mr. A. She is complex, cunning, not easily subdued by our strategies or surprise attacks," Right closed the book and locked eyes with Shinichi.
Shinichi grinned, as if trying to use a provocative method to change Right's mind, "You've become so timid, Right."
Right showed a hint of displeasure, "Besides that, have you ever thought that there is an innocent life inside her? That is a completely innocent human fetus."
Shinichi froze when he heard this. He had never considered this possibility and immediately felt a wave of unease and self-blame.
Seeing Shinichi silent, Right continued, "I know you don't want to hear a rejection, but there are some things we must face."
"I... I just don't want to hurt anyone anymore." Shinichi finally spoke, his voice choked with emotion.
"I understand, but we can't act blindly, can we?" Right softened his tone, seeming to understand Shinichi's inner conflict and struggle.
Shinichi nodded, although still struggling in his heart, he also understood that some paths, no matter how difficult, must be walked.
The days passed by, and Tamiya Ryoko's belly gradually grew larger, finally unable to hide the fact that she was pregnant. In a dim meeting room, several mentors and staff members looked at each other, clearly displeased.
"Pregnancy is supposed to be a personal matter, but..." one mentor spoke, his brow furrowed.
"You are an educator, and still unmarried. Moreover, you can't even disclose the true identity of the child's father. What is going on?" The mentor's tone became sharp.
Another older female teacher joined in, "You cannot be a role model for the students like this," she said sternly.
"Perhaps you don't refuse to disclose the name of the child's father, but you simply don't know, right?" The female teacher stared at Tamiya Ryoko with a disdainful look.
Finally, Tamiya Ryoko spoke, "I never thought I would give up this identity in such a situation."
Upon hearing these words, everyone in the meeting room was startled.
"I don't want to be looked down upon by everyone because of this matter anymore. I will no longer be Tamiya Ryoko," Tamiya Ryoko said decisively, then stood up abruptly, pushed open the door of the meeting room, and left.
"Hey, wait a minute, Teacher Tamiya!" A staff member called out urgently from behind, but Tamiya Ryoko didn't turn back.
The staff member quickly chased after her, and they confronted each other in the narrow hallway. "First of all, leaving like this will cause a lot of trouble for the school. Secondly, what do you mean by saying you won't be Tamiya Ryoko anymore?"
Tamiya Ryoko wanted to explain, but suddenly noticed Shinichi and Rimi in the hallway, chatting with other classmates. She and they locked eyes for a moment, and the air seemed to freeze.
Shinichi and Rimi also sensed Tamiya Ryoko's gaze and involuntarily stopped in their tracks, feeling uneasy. At that moment, an invisible tension seemed to exist among the three, making the surrounding air heavy.
Tamiya Ryoko bit her lip tightly, took a deep breath, turned and walked away, leaving only the faculty and Shinichi and Rimi in the corridor, each lost in their own thoughts.
Shinichi clenched his fists tightly and walked forward, saying, "Let's follow and see, Rimi."
Rimi nodded, "Okay," she gritted her teeth, knowing that this conversation would be extremely difficult.
The three of them arrived at a secluded corner of the campus, surrounded by tall trees and dense bushes, as if isolated from the outside world. Tamiya Ryoko stood there, with no expression on her face.
"Tamiya Ryoko is no longer here, so there's no reason for you and the people around you to continue living," Tamiya Ryoko said coldly, her voice carrying an unmistakable determination.
Shinichi was furious. "Why? Why do you want to kill people?" he almost shouted.
"Do you really need to consume humans in order to survive?" Shinichi asked.
Tamiya Ryoko smiled, but there was no warmth in her smile. "Flies don't need to be taught how to fly, and spiders don't need to be taught how to spin webs."
"What do you really want to say?" Shinichi felt a bit confused.
Rimi interrupted, "She's talking about instinct, Shinichi."
Tamiya Ryoko shook her head, "Perhaps it's instinct, but I tend to believe that spiders and flies are just following some kind of 'command'."
Shinichi widened his eyes, "I still don't understand what you're trying to say, Righty. Do you understand what she's talking about?"
Tamiya Ryoko Opening her mouth again, "Haven't the humans received any orders?"
Rimi Sensing a clue in the tense atmosphere, "Are you saying you received some kind of orders?"
Tamiya Ryoko nodded slowly, "When I first began to occupy the human brain, I did receive a command."
"That is to exterminate this 'human species'." Tamiya Ryoko's tone turned extremely cold, and a sinister smile appeared on her face.
Shinichi was completely stunned, feeling a chill running up his spine as if doused in ice water. He and Rimi locked eyes, both seeing deep unease and fear in each other's gaze.
Shinichi took a deep breath. He knew that the next question might anger the other person, but he couldn't help asking, "So, what are you planning to do with the baby in your belly?"
Tamiya Ryoko smiled slightly, "Give birth to it, and then use it for experiments. If it has no value, then just eat it."
Upon hearing this, Shinichi instantly clenched his fists, almost losing control. Rimi immediately stepped forward, tightly grabbing his arm and whispered, "Don't be impulsive, Shinichi. She won't really do anything to that child."
"What are you talking about? Are you trying to stop me?" Tamiya Ryoko changed her tone, and her hair and head suddenly transformed into an attacking form.
"Even if each of you has a parasite, you are no match for me," Tamiya Ryoko sneered.
Rimi and Shinichi's parasites "Mi" and "Right" immediately became alert, as if ready to enter battle mode at any moment.
Rimi quickly came up with a clever idea and said, "We won't stop you. After all, you want to conduct an experiment, right? I can tell you about an interesting phenomenon we discovered ourselves."
"Oh? What is it? It better be worth my while, or I won't go easy on you," threatened Tamiya Ryoko.
Rimi took a deep breath and then spoke, "When parasites coexist with humans for a period of time, they begin to influence each other. At least in the cases of me and Mi, and Shinichi and Right, we found that about 3% of the parasites are undergoing some kind of fusion with human blood."
This unexpected information clearly piqued the interest of Tamiya Ryoko. She closed her eyes, seemingly sensing in some way, and then smiled, "Hmm, there are indeed signs of fusion."
"Since that's the case, it is indeed very interesting. Well, I'll let you off the hook and let time prove everything." After saying this, Tamiya Ryoko turned and walked away, disappearing into the dark corners of the campus.
Shinichi and Rimi exchanged a smile. Although the crisis was temporarily averted, both of them understood that the conflict between the parasites and humans was impossible to resolve.
