Because I really liked Cherry in this game too much, I decided to write an extra chapter to commemorate it.
Most of the jokes used here are from the game's skill descriptions. I really admire the copywriting of this game. You can even see the story in the skill descriptions.
Some settings are my own creation and do not represent any official position. Any resemblance to actual events or locales is entirely coincidental.
D-Class Agent fanfiction short story
~I am Mr. Hat~

"This version should be much more stable."
A man's voice sounded in the darkness, deep and hoarse. It seems that his vocal cords have suffered serious damage.
"The people upstairs have finally made up their minds to develop robots. They wasted a lot of money on strange biological weapons before. Don't they know that the instability of carbon-based life forms is their destiny?"
The person muttered to himself while typing various strange commands on the keyboard.
"Robots don't know fatigue, they won't get infected, only robots can reclaim lost land, they are the saviors of humanity. Not those superhumans, nor that expensive blue toy."
"I will prove it to everyone! Just you wait! Hahaha~ Hahahaha~"
In the darkness, the man laughed hysterically, his voice echoing.
"Dr. Hu, your plan has been terminated. Please come with us now."
"Shut up! You idiots! Only fully automated robots can efficiently destroy zombies! There are too many unexpected situations to handle with remote control! Don't you understand?"
"If it's useless trash that can't even distinguish between humans and zombies, the organization doesn't need it. An uncontrollable robot is also a terrifying threat to humans."
"What are humans up to!? The only thing waiting for us where we're being sent is zombies! What are humans up to!? Don't think I don't know what your higher-ups are plotting!"
"Anyway, this plan is no longer yours, come with us."

"I like it, can I have it?"

"Wow, new toy, new toy~"
"Sigh... I hope nothing goes wrong."
In the dark alley of the night, there were cries of agony!
" Brother Heng! Brother Heng! Ani is dead!"
"Don't worry about Ani! Focus on the task at hand!"
"Ah, that girl! That girl!"
"Hurry up, Brother Heng, come over here!"
"No one's left, Brother Heng! Everyone's dead! That girl just broke Ah Niu's arms with her bare hands! And she even dug out Skinny's heart just now!"

A sweet voice sounded from the darkness, and a girl in a black dress emerged from the alley, followed by a huge robot with a red single eye.

The silver bell-like laughter accompanied the men's angry shouts and miserable screams. After some time, everything returned to silence once again.

"Cherry, the AI of this prototype has emotions. You did something terrible in front of it, which caused it to malfunction. Reinstalling the AI just wipes its memory. I still have to rewrite the internal code, or the same problem will happen again."
"[ I ] just couldn't sleep at night, so they took Mr. Hat out for a walk..."
Cherry pouted and said a little unhappily, "Mr. Hat? Are you talking about this robot?"

Dr. Hu looked at the harmonious scene in front of him for a while before murmuring:

The sarcasm and helplessness at the corners of the mouth had not disappeared, Dr. Hu shook his head and asked again:

"So, that circus with the bitch guy, the fat one, and the blue skin waste let a little girl in? Is the organization out of people?"

The man in black sunglasses standing next to Dr. Hu glanced at the video camera on the ceiling, about to say something before being interrupted by Dr. Hu.
"Never mind, let me go in and talk to that girl."
"Dr. Hu!"
"How about it? Can't do it? If we don't talk about it, then I won't do it."
"This girl is very dangerous..." the man in sunglasses hesitated. "For safety's sake..."
"Safe?" Dr. Hu chuckled and said, "Where in this world is still safe?"
"Who are you, old man?"
"I am the creator of this robot."
Dr. Hu paused for a moment and asked again:
"Do you like this machine?"
"Okay!" The girl nodded and revealed an incredibly sweet and adorable smile. "I like it the most!"
"Can you lend it to me first? I promise I can make it stronger, strong enough to protect you."
"Can it make it fly?" There was excitement in the girl's eyes. "I want to sit on Mr. Hat and fly in the night sky. That would be so exciting."
"Hehe, it's not certain now, but it's hard to say in the future."
Your proposal is good. We can upload the AI of this robot to cloud, and then transfer the AI from cloud to each sub-robot. In City P, there is no way to supply by land, so we can only airdrop supplies. The girl tilted her head and blinked, a little puzzled as to why the old man in front of her was saying these things to her. She asked:
"Are you leaving?"

Actually, he had already realized that his body was failing when the plan began. If it weren't for his strong willpower dragging his aging body along, he should be lying in a coffin by now.
Dr. Hu's family had passed away in the previous biochemical disaster, leaving him as a lonely old man. Besides this robot, the only thing left in his heart to care about was the girl in front of him.
"Thank you, grandpa," the girl said as she looked at the remote control in her hand, and asked excitedly:
"Can I give it a try?"
"Sure, just press this switch and it will wake up."
Delicate fingers pressed the red eye-shaped switch without hesitation, and the massive robot standing before the two of them lit up its red single eye, swaying for a moment before standing upright on its large, sturdy legs.
"System Booting Success..."
The mechanical voice emitted from its body, sounding devoid of any emotion.
"I am Mr. H.A.T, Homicide Autopsy Tool."
"Pfft." Dr. Hu chuckled and asked, "What have you been teaching it?"
"Hehe..." The girl playfully stuck out her tongue and said a bit shyly, "That's a secret!"
