Su Luan was bewildered, wondering why her Lotus Flower Before the Buddha had transformed into a Western Exotic Flower after such a fall.
She pressed her temples, frowning deeply, sitting in the bath with a troubled expression. In the misty atmosphere, the palace maids around her cast cautious yet disdainful glances.
Suddenly, footsteps echoed from outside the hall, and a man slowly appeared.
Su Luan was taken aback, scrambling out of the bath in a panic. In her haste, she slipped and nearly fell, frantically grabbing a nearby large robe to cover herself.
"Everyone leave!" the man said in a deep voice, carrying an undeniable authority.
Upon hearing this, the surrounding maidservants quickly retreated, though soft laughter could be heard behind them.
Furious, Su Luan turned to glare at the man, gritting her teeth as she exclaimed, "You lecher! How dare you intrude here!"
The steam from the bath curled around her as he stood not far away, his figure tall and straight like a pine tree. His handsome features were unlike those of an ordinary man; his long Peach Blossom Eyes gazed at her with deep affection.
He was perhaps the most handsome man she had ever seen, but an image of her master’s tragic death flashed before her eyes. In that moment of realization, hatred replaced her confusion. She pointed at him and declared, "Linyuan, you shameless scoundrel! Stop pretending and quickly shed this mortal disguise! Show your true form!"
She straightened her back, her gaze resolute, firmly believing she would not be mistaken. Although this man bore no trace of celestial aura, his appearance was unmistakably that of the deceased Linyuan Shangxian.
However, in response to her overwhelming anger, he merely sighed softly, his voice tinged with helplessness and sadness. "Su Luan, why do you harbor such hostility towards me?" As he spoke, he reached to loosen his clothing.
"Not that!" Su Luan exclaimed, her face turning crimson as she covered her eyes and screamed.
Su Luan never expected to find herself in such an embarrassing situation.
Clearly, she had been harmed by someone in the Heavenly Realm and pushed into the Jade Pool. When she finally regained consciousness, she found herself in a completely unfamiliar place.
A man was tightly holding her hand, and when he saw her slowly opening her eyes, he was overwhelmed with joy, his eyes turning red as he held her tightly in his embrace, almost squeezing the breath out of her.
After a while, he finally let her go, his voice trembling as he said, "You finally woke up."
The man was incredibly handsome, and Su Luan momentarily lost her composure. Just as she was feeling flustered, she suddenly realized something was off.
This person looked so familiar, and the next moment she heard him say with a quivering voice, "Su Luan, Su Luan! Take a good look at me; I am Linyuan."
She froze in shock.
With such an identical appearance and the same name, it was hard for her not to suspect that he might be the real Linyuan or his reincarnation.
A bold thought crossed her mind.
In the following days, she secretly observed her surroundings and discovered that she had unknowingly entered the Mortal Realm, while this Linyuan was the supreme ruler of the Pinghui Dynasty.
As for her, for some unknown reason, she had become this dynasty's "Su Luan," having lost all her magical powers and become... the only woman of the king!
Linyuan was almost obsessively devoted to her, making her situation perilous.
Moreover, she was not human, but rather a humanoid flower that had emerged in the Western Regions three years ago.
Everyone in the court believed she was a secret weapon brought from a foreign land, infused with deadly poison, and thus a pile of petitions for her execution filled the room.
However, Linyuan turned a blind eye to the furious ministers; he used all the power of an emperor to protect her.
Yet, ultimately, it was impossible to guard against everything. This "Su Luan," like her, was secretly pushed into the lake. In the end, it was Linyuan who retrieved her from the bottom of the lake.
For three consecutive days, she lay unconscious on her sickbed. Every imperial physician declared that she was beyond saving, but Linyuan refused to give up. He stayed by her side day and night, caring for her without rest until she finally woke up.
But she was no longer the original "Su Luan."
Linyuan's deep affection moved her, but whenever she saw his face, she would be reminded of her master's visage, and her heart full of confusion would be replaced by hatred.
She secretly resolved to uncover Linyuan's true identity. If he truly was the reincarnation of Linyuan Shangxian, then she would seek revenge for her master's death.
However, living under someone else's roof made it impossible to confront him openly.
