The gray clouds shrouded the city of Taipei, unlike the usual hustle and bustle, the atmosphere on the streets today felt heavy. 0

Evan stood in front of the large window of his apartment, observing the busy traffic below, but his mind was in turmoil. 0

The apartment is decorated simply yet tastefully, with specially designed furnishings by a designer and high-end appliances, each highlighting the identity of a successful person. But at this moment, these material achievements seem so hollow. 0

Michelle sits alone on the edge of the hotel room bed, surveying the unfamiliar environment. Plain walls, clean sheets, everything is so different. She takes out her phone but abandons the thought of dialing any number. 0

"Do you really think marriage is just a form of confinement?" Michelle still remembered the argument with Evan, the atmosphere was like a taut string, ready to snap. 0

"Do you think marriage is liberation? Like your mother experienced?" Evan retorted, his voice gradually becoming sharp. 0

"No, but at least it should be given a chance, shouldn't it?" 0

"Hmph, give who a chance? To conform to societal norms? Or to ease your own insecurity?" 0

Evan cannot help but reflect on all of this. He considers himself an extremely creative person, always able to see problems from a unique perspective. However, when it comes to love and marriage, his creativity seems to suddenly disappear without a trace. 0

Is he too selfish, or has he never truly understood Michelle? 0

Michelle was also lost in thought. She always thought that she and Evan shared the same values, at least when it came to the issue of marriage. 0

However, even though she wanted to defend herself and tell Evan that she wasn't someone who would easily change her mind, there was too much uncertainty in her heart. 0

In different corners of Taipei, they each pondered each other's words, trying to find the answer. But does the answer really exist? 0

The next day, Evan arrived at the company early. He walked through the familiar long corridor, past the walls decorated with creative posters, and finally sat down in his own office chair. 0

However, even in this creative and vibrant environment, he still feels oppressed. 0

Later, Michelle also entered the same building, but she went straight to the conference room. 0

A crucial project meeting is about to begin, and she must be fully focused. Nevertheless, she occasionally glanced in the direction of Evan's office, only to find the door tightly closed. A pang of pain struck her heart, but she quickly suppressed her emotions and focused on her work at hand. 0

The entrance to the conference room has a deliberately inconspicuous small glass window. Before entering, Michelle couldn't help but glance through this window. 0

This is a very modern conference room. The smooth black marble tabletop reflects the soft white light from the ceiling, while the walls are adorned with high-end advertising works and award certificates. 0

Each seat is made of high-quality leather, enough to make people feel the company's pursuit of perfection. 0

Michelle walked to her seat and accidentally touched the blank notebook next to it, with a Post-it note attached, on which were written the words "Never forget why you started." 0

She sighed inwardly, thinking to herself that if marriage had truly been sincere, she wouldn't have ended up where she was today. 0

The meeting began, and the project manager, creative designer, marketing manager, and others each reported on their respective responsibilities. 0

Michelle was fully focused throughout, occasionally asking questions or giving suggestions. However, in this professional atmosphere, she still couldn't completely rid her mind of thoughts about Evan. 0

Meanwhile, Evan was also busy. He closed the office door and began immersing himself in a new advertising proposal. 0

His office is arranged very simply: a large desk, a high-performance computer, and a comfortable executive chair. Several classic artworks hang on the wall, and there is a small bookshelf with his favorite books and a few creative models. 0

However, even in this seemingly ideal work environment, Evan still feels something is not right. 0

His mind kept replaying the intense conversation with Michelle from last night. He tried to focus, but his thoughts kept drifting involuntarily. 0

After the meeting, Michelle returned to her office. She took out her phone and found a missed call from Evan and a text message. 0

The message read: "We need to talk. Meet me at the coffee shop tonight." 0

Michelle looked at her phone, took a deep breath, and replied with a text message: "Okay." 0

That evening, the two of them sat down at a stylish and quiet café. The environment had soft lighting and the low hum of the coffee machine, like a small haven in the city. 0

Evan looked at the coffee menu in his hand and finally chose a latte, while Michelle chose a matcha latte. Both of them silently waited for their coffee, the atmosphere feeling a bit tense. 0

"Michelle, I might have been a bit too intense yesterday," Evan said, biting his lip. 0

"Our recent experiences have made me reassess things," Evan continued. "I know we both have our own attitudes towards marriage, but I'm starting to worry that it might affect our relationship." 0

Michelle smiled faintly and said, "Actually, I have my own concerns too. Last night made me rethink a lot of things and reaffirm my position. Especially seeing our friends and family go through so many ups and downs, I also wonder, how far can we go?" 0

"So, should we seriously consider what our next steps should be?" Evan asked, looking deeply at Michelle. 0

Michelle glanced at the fountain outside, where the water spurted high and then calmed down, just like their various ups and downs and concerns about marriage. 0

"Maybe we need to give each other some time and space to find the answers," Michelle said, her eyes and tone carrying a hint of reluctance. 0

"Are you saying we should take a break for now?" Evan's heart suddenly felt heavy. 0

"Instead of breaking up, it's about giving each other time to think things through. It's better for both of us," Michelle replied, with a determined expression. 0

Evan nodded, "Okay, if this can help us clarify what we really want, then I'm willing." 0

The two of them took a sip of coffee one after the other, as if trying to dilute the weight of their recent conversation in this way. 0

As they left the coffee shop, Michelle said to Evan, "Regardless of the outcome, I will be grateful for the journey we have taken." 0

Evan smiled and replied, "Me too, Michelle, me too." 0

The two of them walked into the nightfall of Taipei, their hearts filled with the unknown, but also carrying a hint of anticipation and relief. 0

Regardless of what the future holds, at least they are willing to face it and reevaluate. Perhaps this is the first step to growth. 0
