In the process of chasing the black mist, Leona used teleportation magic to contact the principal Seris and the head of the martial arts academy Gray. She learned that they were searching for the fallen meteor in the south of the Noah Continent, encountering the same situation as her.
"Are the two black mists far from the site of the battle of the gods?" Principal Seris asked.
"Not far," Leona said, her voice echoing in the magic communication orb.
Principal Seris responded, "I feel the same way. The atmosphere of this dark magic matches the description of the ruins. We must be careful."
In the sky, Leona, Principal Seris, Headmaster Gray, and several other high-level mages flew, each searching for traces of the black mist. Their wings cut through the night sky like blades, leaving behind bright magical traces.
Finally, they landed in a desolate plain, a forgotten corner of time, filled only with silence and darkness. But that wasn't the most unsettling part— the air here was permeated with a sharp, chilling aura of evil magic.
"I feel a bit uneasy," Principal Seris frowned and tightened his grip on the magic wand in his hand.
"I can't see anything, but I sense the evil is stronger than before," added Principal Seris.
At that moment, a dazzling beam of light suddenly shot out from the horizon, illuminating the entire plain. The source of the beam was a massive black crystal ball, which floated quietly in the air like a dark sun.
"What is that?" exclaimed a high-ranking wizard.
"I'm not sure, but we must find out," Leona said as she unfolded her own magical wings, preparing to fly towards the black crystal ball.
However, just as she was about to touch the object, a powerful surge of magic suddenly erupted from the crystal ball, forming a dark force field that pushed everyone back.
"Back off!" Principal Seris shouted, immediately releasing a protective shield that surrounded everyone.
The dark force field collided with the protective shield, creating a loud bang. The impact produced a violent shockwave, causing people to almost lose their balance.
"What... What kind of power is this?" Principal Gray trembled as he asked.
"This is far beyond the dark magic we understand," Principal Seris spoke with seriousness and caution in his voice.
"This place is very close to the battlefield of the divine war, but because of Alex, they sealed off this space, so the two dark mists couldn't get in." Leona expanded the magic shield. Under the erosion of evil magic, the magic shield emitted a faint light, as if silently resisting the darkness.
"Principal Seris, what do you think?" Leona asked, turning her head.
Seris stood to the side, expressionless as she observed the surrounding black mist. Her hand lightly touched an ancient spellbook, its text seemingly ever-changing, displaying different types of magic circles and incantations.
"I need more information. The dark magic here exceeds anything I've seen before, and it even makes me worry if it's related to that 'mysterious prophecy'."
Leona listened, and a fleeting but bright light flashed in her eyes, like a distant meteor streaking across the night sky. "So what do we do? Do we need to retreat immediately to avoid the influence of the evil magic waves?"
Seris took a deep breath, her gaze intense. "No, we can't retreat. This may be the only chance to confront the darkness. I will use a special spell from my magic book to create a safe circle, but I need everyone's help to dispel this darkness."
Grey and Leona nodded, each beginning to chant magical incantations. The black crystal exuded an aura of evil, as if being pulled together by invisible ropes, gradually converging into one point.
Seris held a magic book and recited an ancient and complex incantation. As the incantation was completed, the magic book emitted a strong light, which expanded to form a huge magic circle, enveloping everyone, including the high-ranking instructors.
"Now!" Seris shouted.
Leona and Gray finished chanting the spell almost simultaneously. Leona was wearing a tight-fitting ice-blue mage robe, holding a high-level staff embedded with pearls and gemstones, her eyes as firm as ice; while Gray, in heavy armor, wielding a giant sword shimmering with lightning, had eyes like a wild blaze.
Their respective intense radiance converged within the magical circle of the Seris domain. This magical circle was composed of incredibly precise runes and holy scriptures, appearing still but constantly changing and rotating at the microscopic level, forming a spectacular energy web. Each intersection in the grid resembled a small planet, emitting a dreamlike radiance.
"Banish the darkness! Restore our blue sky!" The three of them shouted in unison, their voices like the roar of the sea, the thunderous rumble, striking directly at the hearts of everyone present.
At this moment, an extremely dazzling beam of light shot out from the magic circle, like the spear of a deity, soaring straight into the sky. This beam of light possessed an indescribable beauty and power, an absolute energy formed by the combination of goodness and light. It completely absorbed the surrounding space's evil magic, like a huge magnet attracting all the iron filings.
The two masses of evil gas originally within the black crystal, as if remnants of the sins left by the dark god Odysseus, were instantly extinguished by this beam of light. They emitted a sharp cry of remorse, like devils being judged, and vanished in an instant.
In an instant, the air became fresh, as if it had undergone a spiritual baptism. Even the most stubborn impurities and filth were melted away by this bright power, and the originally gloomy sky became bright, with streaks of white clouds floating in the air like feathers dropped by fairies.
"We have succeeded, but this is by no means the end. The 'mysterious prophecy' has not been unraveled yet, and we need to be even more careful," said Seris.
Leona and Gray nodded in agreement, saying, "Yes, we must work even harder to protect this world from the invasion of darkness."
Just as Leona and Gray were immersed in the joy of victory, not long after leaving the scene, a small but bright beam of light suddenly cut through the pitch-black night sky, discreetly opening a tiny crack.
They did not notice this subtle change, but the beam of light sucked in the two dark mists lurking in the darkness like a vacuum cleaner.
The appearance of this beam of light, although so brief as to be almost imperceptible, foreshadowed a huge and deadly crisis about to come.
Leona and others are completely unaware. If they were more cautious and vigilant at this time, they might be able to immediately avoid Noah Continent from heading down an unknown dangerous path.
