Zhiyun and Jade Wing left the villagers and began patrolling around the village.
In the cover of night, Zhiyun's snake tail glided lightly on the ground, making almost inaudible rustling sounds. Jade Wing hopped alongside her, his small figure displaying astonishing strength with each leap.
"I heard that snakes like to eat meat. Will you eat me too?" Jade Wing said as she lightly pecked at Zhiyun's tail with her beak, but each time she cleverly avoided it.
Zhiyun turned her head, a hint of a smile in her eyes. "Stop kidding, Jade Wing. We are currently on patrol and need to stay alert," she said in a gentle tone, but her eyes revealed a seriousness that could not be ignored.
Jade Wing stopped joking and his expression turned serious: "Zhiyun, I have a question. The Nuwa tribe village is not easy to enter, so why do we still get beast attacks every year?" He said as he gently preened his feathers with his beak.
Zhiyun gazed ahead, with a hint of contemplation in his tone: "The barrier outside the Nuwa tribe village is indeed powerful, but it temporarily weakens at specific times. A long time ago, a monster accidentally broke into the village. Since then, other monsters have also learned this secret and gather to attack us at that moment."
