After sending off his mother, Jiang Yizhou began his entrepreneurial journey.
First, of course, he needed to find Ding Zhengnan. He felt that their relationship was strong and much more reliable than his previous connections in the Internet industry, so he should be able to borrow some money!
He called, but no one answered. After trying the girl's cell phone, he finally got through, only to hear her say, "I'm at my parents' house right now. If you need something, just come find me!"
Jiang Yizhou felt a bit conflicted. He knew Ding Zhengnan's parents' address, but was she really angry? If he went now, would he be walking into a confrontation? There were too many uncertainties.
"What do you think about this place?" Le Chunlan asked. She was the landlord of the five-story building and relied on rent for her livelihood. Recently, the company on the third floor had suddenly shut down, leaving her without any prospects.
Although the young man in his twenties didn't seem particularly affluent, she still had to entertain anyone who showed interest.
Jiang Yizhou surveyed the space on this floor. It was somewhat less impressive than Sun Yuliang's training class, but he didn't expect to compare with Brother Sun's two-year-old training class in terms of student numbers. As long as he could keep it running without any fame initially, that would be good enough.
In the end, he decided to rent this floor. After agreeing on the handover time, Jiang Yizhou left in a hurry. As for where to go next, it was obviously to find Ding Zhengnan because he was out of money. With only ten thousand yuan left in his account, even if he haggled hard, being able to buy two computers would be quite good. He still had rent and utilities to pay for, along with tables and chairs, renovation costs, and eventually staff wages after opening.
It seemed easy watching Brother Sun start his training class, but when it came to actually doing it himself, it turned out to be quite challenging. However, once things were on track, it became easier. He also had no plans to develop it into a large educational institution.
"Are you Jiang Yizhou?" Upon hearing the voice of a middle-aged woman at the door, Jiang Yizhou politely asked, "Hello, Auntie. I'm here to see Ding Zhengnan. Is she home?"
Lu Yan stood still without moving, looking at Jiang Yizhou's face. He seemed so naive and clearly lacked social skills; how did her daughter end up liking someone like him?
"Come in; I'll go get her!" Lu Yan decided to observe the situation first before making any judgments about them.
After that incident, she went home and asked her husband and father-in-law about it. To her surprise, they both knew about it but hadn't taken it seriously enough to mention it to her. This made her very angry; although they seemed incompatible in personality, their tempers were exactly alike.
"Ding Zhengnan, open the door! I need to talk to you!" Lu Yan gently knocked on her daughter's bedroom door. When she heard a click and the door opened slightly, she stepped inside and immediately closed the door behind her.
"Mom, what happened?" Ding Zhengnan returned to her desk filled with art supplies. Although she had recently bought a computer and drawing software influenced by Jiang Yizhou, she still felt more comfortable working on paper.
"Ding Zhengnan, what is your relationship with that Jiang Yizhou?" Lu Yan didn't use an aggressive tone to force her daughter into a response; however, this approach made Ding Zhengnan feel even more uncomfortable.
"Mom, it's nothing, just a good friend!" Ding Zhengnan walked to the bedside, hugging her mother's arm as if she were being coy.
"Really? If that's the case, then be a bit more reserved. Why are you so close to a boy? It can easily lead to misunderstandings!"
As a mother who valued rules, Lu Yan loved waiting for her daughter to break the rules she had set, so she could justifiably discipline her without making her feel too wronged.
"By the way, that Jiang Yizhou is sitting in the living room right now!" Lu Yan put away her invisible pressure and smiled with satisfaction. "Why don't you go out and chat with him?"
Isn't it nothing? Then why stay in your room for a private chat? It would be much better to talk openly in the living room. Is there something you can't let me know?
Seeing her mother's smile, Ding Zhengnan hesitated but eventually nodded. After all, she had just said those words!
When the two came out of the room, Jiang Yizhou stood up from his seat. "Ding Zhengnan."
Ding Zhengnan suddenly interrupted, "Sit down, sit down! If there's something to discuss, just say it directly. Let's talk here in the living room!"
Noticing her obviously unnatural smile, Jiang Yizhou sensed that the atmosphere was off.
Once Ding Zhengnan sat down next to him and Lu Yan took a seat across from them, seemingly focused on watching the TV show.
"What's wrong with your mom?" Jiang Yizhou asked.
Ding Zhengnan felt his voice was getting a bit too close and replied, "I don't know. Ever since you called, she's been like this!"
"Ding Zhengnan, Jiang Yizhou, you don't have to be so formal. Are you worried about affecting my TV watching? It's fine; I'm just used to having the TV on," Lu Yan stood up and turned off the television, then picked up a magazine from the coffee table and began reading it with interest. "You two can chat; don't mind me!"
As if I wouldn't mind! How could I treat you like air? I'm not here to sneak around like a weasel; why do I need to be so guarded?
Seeing that Ding Zhengnan's mother showed no signs of leaving, Jiang Yizhou directly stated his purpose for coming. "I've already chosen the location, and most of the relevant matters are almost prepared; I just need some startup capital."
Jiang Yizhou thoroughly analyzed the matter of starting a Training Class with Ding Zhengnan, summarizing it in one sentence: I need money, and I hope you can lend me some!
Ahem.
Ding Zhengnan's Mother appropriately cleared her throat, saying, "I'm sorry, but I think Ding Zhengnan should discuss this with the family. After all, our money didn't come from nowhere. Let's wait for her dad to come back, and we can discuss it before giving you an answer, okay?"
Jiang Yizhou felt that things had taken a turn for the worse. What he thought was a sure thing had now fallen apart, and he would have to look elsewhere.
"Auntie, you're right. It really needs careful consideration since it's not a small amount. I'll take my leave for now and come back another day!" Jiang Yizhou stood up and exchanged pleasantries. "Ding Zhengnan, goodbye!"
With the sound of the door closing, Ding Zhengnan immediately complained to her mother, "Mom, what are you thinking? This is all the money I've saved over the years! Can't I start a business?"
Ding Zhengnan was also confused about what her mother was trying to do.
"The money you've saved isn't just from us giving it to you. Besides, have you ever dealt with those things? Do you understand the situation? Just because it looks promising doesn't mean you should jump to conclusions without any experience!"
Lu Yan planned to teach her daughter a lesson. "Do you know what I dislike most about young people?"
