"Sister Li, Boss is here!" The new girl said timidly to Li Yue sitting behind the desk.
Li Yue rubbed her temples, took off her glasses, and waved her hand, saying, "Got it, you can leave work now!"
Why is this happening again? Li Yue was also very tired. What was she even doing? The Boss was hardly ever seen, while she, the employee, was working herself to exhaustion for a fixed salary.

"Some Boss who won't give employees a raise!" Li Yue glared at him angrily and spoke frankly.
"How about I give you shares instead?" Jiang Yizhou had nothing but shares in his hands; he rented his apartment, and everything else was bought with money. The books were purchased after getting funding from the company’s loans, and the money in this Training Class account had been completely reinvested. Fortunately, things were developing well.
"Maybe later!" Li Yue was a person with a lot of self-respect, which did not conflict with her excellent social skills.
Not refusing meant she felt she was worth that price.
Li Yue put away her glasses case, locked her cabinet, and looked ready to leave. "What are you here for? Here to ask for money? There's none!"
"Come on, I just came to check on things here and see if you want to grab a bite," Jiang Yizhou tugged at Li Yue's arm, but when she pulled away slightly, he let go.
"Look at you all rosy-cheeked; did something good happen?" Li Yue said sarcastically as she put on a knee-length warm yellow coat that revealed her legs wrapped in black.
"Wait until we get there; I guarantee it will surprise you!" Jiang Yizhou said mysteriously. Since she always seemed to be wasting time and never gave him a good face, he really wanted to see Li Yue's expression when she heard the news.
"Hold on," Li Yue hesitated for a moment. "Shouldn't we invite Qin Yi too? That wouldn't be right."
"Alright then! I'll call Qin Yi. If she can make it, I'll have her join us." Jiang Yizhou didn't oppose. If she still didn't find anything strange about it and came along, even he started to feel something was off.
After a few beeps, the call was successfully connected. "Yi Zhou, it's you! What's up? Dinner? Sure, where? Okay, I'm on my way! You guys order some dishes and wait for me!"
Jiang Yizhou shrugged, put away his book, and said to the somewhat stunning Li Yue, "Let's go to that hot pot restaurant!"
The two arrived at the restaurant and waited for about ten minutes before Qin Yi hurried in. Li Yue smiled and said, "What happened to you? You look so angry."
Qin Yi forcefully pulled off her scarf and angrily tossed it onto the empty seat across from her. "Everyone in the dorm was using heating appliances, and this morning half of the dorm burned down. It was in my major too! I spent all morning checking every room in the building and had to interview the students involved. Do you know what that girl said?"
Li Yue listened intently while Jiang Yizhou picked up a plate of meat slices from a nearby cart and added them to the boiling hot pot.
Qin Yi continued, "She wasn't worried at all about being punished; she even cheerfully asked me where she would stay tonight! I even tried to help her get a lighter punishment. I've never seen someone so carefree. Apparently, she left a pot cooking in the dorm this morning and forgot to turn it off when she was called out. Luckily, no one was sleeping in; everyone else had already left!"
Li Yue timely poured Qin Yi a glass of beer. "Come on, drink a little to calm down!"
Qin Yi took the glass and gulped it down before placing it back on the table. "People like her are infuriating! At least have some responsibility, right? She caused such a big mess; doesn't she have any sense of accountability?"
After downing another glass that Li Yue had filled for her, Qin Yi finally asked, "By the way, what made you two think of inviting me to dinner?"
Jiang Yizhou stared at the hot pot and put down his chopsticks with disappointment. "You're my roommate after all; it's not a big deal for me to treat you to a meal, right?"
Qin Yi was no longer as calm as usual; it was clear that this incident had upset her. "What roommate? You're hardly ever around; I can barely see you! If it weren't for your stuff still being here, I would think you moved out!"
Jiang Yizhou smiled wryly. "I can't help it; work is too busy. I've been working late nights, so I just keep my toiletries at the office. I really can't get away."
Mainly because he was too lazy to go home late at night; anyway, there was no refrigerator, no heating, and no TV at home. It was better to stay at work.
At that moment, several plates of food were brought over by the staff: Tofu Skin, Enoki Mushrooms, Fish Meat Balls. The three of them happily started cooking.
"By the way, what good news did you want to share?" Li Yue asked Jiang Yizhou during a lull.
"It's about my startup; remember I developed some software? I just got an investment!" Jiang Yizhou raised his eyebrows playfully. "Want to know the specific amount?"
"Speak quickly, what are you dragging on for?" Li Yue shot him a sideways glance.
"One million dollars for 40% of my company, how about that?" Jiang Yizhou had a few beers and, feeling quite pleased with himself, let it all out, including the ups and downs of the investment and the specifics. "Now I'm at least a millionaire, so you should take back what you said before!"
Li Yue was indeed a bit shocked, but seeing Qin Yi show no reaction at all, she asked her, "Yi, why aren't you reacting?"
Qin Yi blinked a few times and said without realizing it, "I already knew. Some of the interns in his company are actually juniors I brought in; they told me this news a long time ago. Didn't you know? Aren't you working under him?"
Such major events were already common knowledge among those in the internet industry. Both of them belonged to the telecommunications field and knew quite a few people related to the Computer major.
However, Li Yue had completely chosen not to work in a field related to her major. Instead, she stayed at school to oversee the new students in these two majors, which meant she knew even more people.
"Yi, you have no idea how unlucky it is to follow this guy. I was running the Training Class smoothly when he suddenly decided to start his own business and dumped everything from the Training Class on me without a raise. I'm exhausted from all this work, and I can't even reach this slacker!"
Qin Yi didn't know about this situation and looked at Jiang Yizhou with a somewhat subtle expression. "Yi Zhou, you wouldn't really do that, would you?"
Jiang Yizhou directly pulled out an agreement from his bag—the equity transfer agreement. "I've been prepared for a long time; I was just waiting for her to complain to me!"
