A ray of sunlight pierced through the thick clouds, casting a shadow over the massive crater of the Aiserai Plains. But this time, the crater was not as calm as before.
Over two hundred high-level magic instructors, almost filling the entire academy, had gathered here. They were dressed in robes of different colors and styles, with some robes shimmering with spells and symbols. The air was filled with a heavy and tense atmosphere.
Sophia and Morris slowly descended from the sky, each tightly gripping their respective mysterious weapons. Sophia's blue eyes scanned the surroundings and she was surprised to find Lyra, Fio, Lina, and Brit standing to the side, all with somewhat unnatural expressions.
"So many magic wielders, do you find it strange?" Sophia telepathically asked Morris.
"Hmm, it is indeed unusual. But perhaps they are just here to welcome us back," Morris replied using telepathy.
After stepping onto the ground, the two immediately walked towards the principal Seris, the dean of the Magic Academy Leona, and the dean of the Martial Arts Academy, Gray.
"You two, what's going on this time?" Dean Leona furrowed her brow.
"Principal, deans, we need to explain that all of this is part of Azansos's scheme. We were lured by him to that ruin, and the ancient array there was accidentally destroyed by our attack, causing the space to tear even further. We deeply apologize for this." Sophia explained nervously.
"This is not just a simple mistake, Sophia, this could potentially have irreparable consequences." Principal Seris looked at her sharply, then turned to the other deans. "Leona, Gray, what are your thoughts?"
Dean Leona spoke first, "Disrupting the spell formation is certainly a serious issue, but the appearance of Azansos and his conspiracy may be more worthy of our attention."
"I agree," said Principal Gray of the martial arts academy. "We need to investigate the full details of this incident."
Principal Seris walked over, patted their shoulders, and said affectionately, "It's okay, we all make mistakes."
"Is it true, Principal?" Morris seemed a little uneasy.
"Of course, it's true," Seris smiled, then suddenly changed her expression and shouted, "Catch them for me!"
In an instant, the air seemed to solidify. Sophia and Morris felt an invisible pressure bearing down on them, almost immobilizing.
Sophia and Morris surged with a powerful magic and cast the spell Heavenly Steps (help me think of a move) to break free from the principal's side.
"Your abilities have actually grown to this extent!" Seris exclaimed.
"Now is not the time to be surprised, Principal Seris," Leona responded coldly.
"Indeed, everyone, use Heavenly Steps to seal off the space!" Seris commanded loudly.
Seris Waving her hand, a golden light formed a huge magic circle in the air, and in an instant, all the deans and senior instructors appeared within the circle.
Leona The deans and Dean Gray raised their staffs and weapons, powerful magical energy converging into a single point, combining with the power of the other senior instructors to form a transparent protective barrier that surrounded the entire area. The space became increasingly compact, sealing off all possible escape routes.
"Very well, now no one can escape," Seris said satisfied.
"Now, let's put an end to all of this!" Principal Seris raised the staff in her hand, and a bolt of lightning streaked across the sky, heading straight for Sophia and Morris.
Sophia glanced at Morris, she knew they couldn't wait any longer. She raised her "Key of the Celestial Realm" staff, feeling the gem at the top shimmer with a dazzling light.
"Heavenly Steps magic spell, kiss of the stars!" Sophia chanted loudly, and a huge blue beam of light shot out from the staff, straight into the sky.
Morris didn't idle either. He pointed the "Shadowfang" dagger towards the ground and murmured, "Heavenly Steps magical incantation, release the darkness!"
A black mist emanated from the dagger, quickly spreading throughout the space. The black mist and blue light intersected in the air, forming a brilliant constellation, and then exploded!
Sophia tightly grasps the "Key of the Celestial Realm" and chants a spell towards the barrier. The staff instantly emits a dazzling blue light, and a column of water breaks through the spatial blockade, heading straight for Seris.
"Heavenly Steps magic incantation, ice prison!" Headmistress Leona quickly casts a spell, and a thick layer of ice wall appears in front of Seris, freezing the column of water.
At that moment, Dean Gray swung his giant axe, sending a blazing flame towards Sophia and Morris. Morris used "Flame of Passion" to transform the fire into life energy, using it to restore his and Sophia's strength.
"We must break through this barrier!" Sophia said anxiously.
Morris nodded and waved the "Spear Sword of the Storm," casting a thunderbolt at the shield. The thunderbolt combined with Sophia's "The Wrath of Poseidon," forming an energy vortex swirling around the shield.
"Now!" they both shouted in unison.
But the protective shield remained unmoved.
"You're wasting your efforts. This protective shield was created by over two hundred high-level mages and three Heavenly Steps mages. You won't be able to break through it!" Seris laughed and said.
Shortly after, with a sharp gaze, he said, "The three of us will cast a spell together, the Heavenly Steps magic spell, to dispel the dark curse."
Gray and Leona nodded, and they each began to chant the magic incantation. The powerful magical waves in the air seemed to be pulled together by an invisible rope, gradually converging into one point.
Seris held the magic book and chanted an ancient and complex spell. As the incantation finished, the magic book emitted a strong light, which expanded to form a huge magic circle.
At the terrifying moment when the magic spell was about to be completed, Morris felt a tightness in his chest and took out a scroll bound with golden thread from his bosom. It was the "Essence of Time and Space" given to him by the leader of the elves.
He tightly grasped Sophia's hand and recited the incantation from the scroll.
"Olihak, Saikamakara!"
A white light shot out from the scroll, surrounding them. The magical bindings of the high-level wizards instantly broke, but the white light also gradually disappeared.
