The sound of the Cicada Song echoed incessantly in Erin's mind, as if thousands of cicadas were crawling over her. The sound was sharp and piercing, filling her with immense fear and pain. A tremendous ache surged through her head, as if those cicadas had plunged their mouthparts deep into her brain, trying to siphon off her consciousness. Erin felt her thoughts becoming hazy, her awareness gradually fading. 0

Her legs wobbled beneath her, and she stumbled to the ground. Her vision began to blur, and everything around her became unclear. She struggled to get up, but the pain and fear rendered her immobile. She sensed her world collapsing, the surroundings twisting and blurring, as if she were trapped in an inescapable nightmare. 0

Mark and Lisa noticed Erin's distress and immediately crouched down anxiously. Their mouths moved rapidly, clearly trying to say something to comfort her or seek help. However, Erin couldn't hear a single word. The sound of the cicadas was overwhelming, drowning out all other noises in her world. 0

Erin's gaze became vacant; she felt ensnared in an unending nightmare. It was as if countless cicadas surrounded her, suffocating her, preventing her from breathing or thinking. Her heart raced, fear crashing over her like a tide. Each pulse brought excruciating pain, as if the ache in her head threatened to tear her apart. 0

"Erin, what's wrong?" Mark asked urgently, his eyes filled with concern. 0

Lisa also wore a worried expression; she grasped Erin's hand in an attempt to offer some comfort. "Erin, hang in there; we're here." 0

Yet Erin knew this was not a hallucination. The Cicada Song lingered ominously in her ears, warning her of some impending danger. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down, but the sound persisted like a nightmare that wouldn't fade away, growing louder as if the entire church was filled with this strange noise. 0

Diego Montoro's voice rose higher and higher, seemingly reaching a climax. His voice carried immense power and authority, and the crowd below responded with even more fervent shouts, each face filled with devotion and ecstasy. A woman nearby had tears shimmering in her eyes, deeply moved by Diego Montoro's words. 0

At that moment, Erin felt the Cicada Song penetrate her soul, becoming increasingly clear and sharp. She instinctively covered her ears in an attempt to block out the sound, but it was futile. The Cicada Song reverberated in her mind, bringing endless fear and unease. 0

"What's wrong with her?" The woman's voice trembled, clearly sensing the gravity of the situation. 0

Erin felt the Cicada Song grow sharper still, as if her entire head were about to split open. Her vision gradually blurred further; consciousness was slipping away. Her world darkened more and more, as if she were about to plunge into an endless abyss. 0

"Hang in there, Erin; we're here," Mark's voice was faint yet carried a glimmer of hope, trying to bring Erin back to awareness. 0

Lisa tightly grasped Erin's hand, her eyes filled with tears. "Don't give up, we will help you." 0

Erin struggled to concentrate, trying to break free from the invisible shackles. She took a deep breath, attempting to calm herself, silently reminding herself to hold on. However, the endless sound of the Cicada Song still echoed in her ears, like an unending nightmare that trapped her. 0

At that moment, a strong headache struck again, making Erin feel dizzy. She could no longer hold on; darkness enveloped her as she fainted completely. 0

Erin painfully opened her eyes, gasping for air, and found herself in complete darkness. Her heart raced, and the sound of the Cicada Song still lingered in her ears, filling her with panic. She reached out to touch her limbs and found them intact, which eased her mind slightly. 0

"Mark! Lisa!" Erin shouted their names anxiously, but her voice seemed to vanish into a black hole, without even a hint of echo. The silence made her feel even more uneasy, as if this place swallowed all sound. 0

She struggled to stand up, trying to feel around her to confirm where she was. Her fingers brushed through the air but touched nothing. It seemed empty all around, as if she were standing on an endless plane with no boundaries or directions. 0

Erin felt a wave of despair and fear; she kept groping around but the surroundings remained an endless darkness without change. This feeling of being unable to grasp direction or environment suffocated her, causing her breath to quicken as her fear deepened. 0

"Where exactly is this place?" Erin asked herself internally. She tried to calm down but couldn't shake off the boundless sense of dread. Taking a deep breath, she attempted to analyze the situation rationally. 0

"I was just in the church, then I fainted. What is this place? Is it some kind of illusion? Or a mental trap?" She pondered in her mind, desperately searching for clues. 0

Suddenly, she felt a faint breeze blowing from a certain direction, bringing a glimmer of hope. Erin quickly turned toward that direction, deciding to follow the sensation of the wind. Although darkness still surrounded her endlessly, she knew she had to take action; otherwise, she would be consumed by this relentless fear. 0

"Mark! Lisa!" She shouted again loudly, trying to let them know she was still alive and was still searching for a way out. However, all that responded was the endless silence. 0

Erin slowly walked forward; each step sounded particularly clear in the infinite darkness. After taking about ten steps, suddenly a strange and heavy sound of footsteps came from behind her. The sound was deep and powerful; each step seemed to tread upon her very heart. 0

The sound was not far away, as if it were just behind her. Erin felt a chill spreading from her spine throughout her body, terrified. She shouted, "Who! Who is it?" 0

However, there was no response, only the echo of footsteps in the darkness. The sound grew more urgent, as if it were rapidly approaching. Erin's heart raced, fear washing over her like a tide, making it almost impossible to breathe. 0

The footsteps became even more hurried and heavy, as if chasing her soul. Erin felt her legs weighed down like lead, but she knew she couldn't stop. She suddenly turned around, trying to see who was coming, but there was nothing in the darkness—only that eerie sound of footsteps drawing closer. 0

"I can't be caught!" Erin shouted in her mind and then turned to run frantically. Her heart pounded like a drum, her breath quickened, each step filled with fear and despair. 0

She sensed the footsteps getting nearer, as if they would swallow her whole at any moment. Erin ran desperately, trying to escape the unknown pursuer. Her legs grew heavier, but she knew she couldn't stop. 0

"Help! Is anyone there?" Erin cried out loudly, her voice filled with desperation and fear. Yet, there was still no response in the darkness, only her own echo and that strange sound of footsteps. 0

She felt her strength fading quickly, but she dared not stop. The footsteps were like an invisible hunter, closing in on her and making it hard to breathe. Erin's vision blurred, breathing became difficult, but she continued to run desperately, trying to find a glimmer of hope. 0

In the darkness, Erin's footsteps intertwined with that eerie sound of footsteps, creating a silent chase. She didn't know how far she could run or if she could escape this terrifying pursuit. 0
