As night fell, the light blue sky gradually deepened into a rich blue, filled with stars that sparkled like diamonds, shining with brilliant light.
Among the countless stars was a crescent moon, casting a gentle glow upon the earth, accentuated by the surrounding stars.
The silvery moonlight streamed through the window and fell upon the sleeping Guoguo. Under the influence of the moonlight, Guoguo's skin appeared translucent and as radiant as white jade.
After sleeping for two hours, Guoguo was startled awake by a text message from Bell and opened her eyes.
The pain from the injuries on her back and right knee still pierced her heart.
Struggling, Guoguo sat up in bed. When she got out of bed to put on her shoes, she noticed two apples and a note beside her pillow.
Guoguo reached for the note and glanced at the neat handwriting on it. Her eyes gradually reddened, and tears instantly welled up.
The note contained only one sentence: "Guoguo, if you can't eat, have an apple. It's very sweet. Jingjing and I went to study late. Take good care of yourself."
"Min, Jingjing, thank you!" Guoguo sobbed, shaking her thin shoulders uncontrollably, expressing her heartfelt gratitude.
Then she reached for an apple, brought it to her mouth, and took a bite. It was very sweet, completely masking the salty taste of her tears.
Guoguo smiled through her tears; this was the sweetest apple she had ever eaten.
After finishing one apple, Guoguo got out of bed to put on her shoes. As she bent down, it immediately aggravated the injury on her back, causing her face to turn pale from the pain.
After putting on her shoes, Guoguo stood up, took a step, turned around, and crouched down to pull out an old sack from under the bed. She stood up again, stepped out of the dormitory, and closed the door behind her.
In the vast campus, Guoguo walked with a limp, holding the sack. With the help of the moonlight, she occasionally caught sight of the shadow of a pull-tab beverage can that had been discarded on the ground for nearly two days.
In the stifling air, Guoguo felt a chill and warmth wash over her body, leaving her weak. She wiped the sweat from her forehead with her sleeve, only for it to reappear.
Guoguo decided to ignore it and walked toward the trash can.
She prayed that she would find many pull-tab beverage cans tonight.
That was her wish for the evening.
On stage, a pair of captivating eyes were watching the thin figure below who was bending over to search through the trash can for pull-tab beverage cans.
