On this birthday, Guoguo's greatest wish is for her father to stop gambling.
On this birthday, the person Guoguo most wants to see is not Ouyang Qiming, but her gambling-addicted father: "Dad, are your injuries feeling better? Have you been eating properly?!"
Guoguo talks to herself under the night sky.
The night sky grows increasingly blue, deep and profound. The moon shines brightly, casting its endless light onto the earth, draping everything in a layer of white gauze. Under the moonlight, everything appears mysterious and gentle.
The silvery moonlight streams through the window, illuminating Guoguo, who sits in a wheelchair by the window. The moonlight adds a touch of mysterious beauty to her presence.
"Min, Jingjing, I thought you would come to celebrate my birthday with me. I didn't expect none of you to show up," Guoguo murmurs sadly as she gazes at the crescent moon hanging above. "But I know you must have your reasons; I don't blame you."
Just as she finishes speaking, the door to One Ward slowly opens. Guoguo hears the sound of the door and turns hopefully, thinking it might be Han Min and Guo Jingjing arriving. To her surprise, it is a nurse she has never seen before: "It's late, let me help you to bed, little sister!"
At this moment, it is already past ten o'clock at night.
"Okay," Guoguo replies quietly. With the nurse's assistance, she lies down on the bed as the nurse kindly covers her with a thin blanket.
"I'm going to turn off the lights now. Goodnight," the nurse says softly as she reaches for the switch.
"Goodnight, Nurse Sister," Guoguo replies before closing her eyes.
With a soft 'click,' the nurse turns off the lights, exits the room, closes the door behind her, and walks away.
The ward was dark, and Guoguo listened to the increasingly faint footsteps of the nurse before opening her eyes again.
Those clear eyes were like the stars in the night sky outside, bright and spirited. Unfortunately, they were tinged with a hint of melancholy; if only that melancholy could dissipate, everything would be perfect.
Suddenly, Guoguo heard a knock on the door...
And it was her ward door that was being knocked on...
What would it feel like to hear a knock in the middle of the night?
The knocking grew more frequent, sending chills down Guoguo's spine.
Guoguo clutched the blanket, her voice trembling as she turned to look at the door in fear and shouted, "Who, who is knocking outside?"
