It was one thing to bring the wrong book to math class, but there was also the time when I wore mismatched shoes—one foot in flip-flops and the other in sneakers. Fortunately, I was spotted by Han Min and Guo Jingjing on my way to class; if anyone else had seen me, I would have become the laughingstock of everyone's conversations.
Several times, Han Min and Guo Jingjing asked Guoguo what was wrong, whether she was feeling unwell or had something on her mind. Each time, Guoguo simply shook her head faintly and continued to stare blankly into space.
For the past half month, Guoguo's mind had been filled with thoughts of Ouyang Qiming, completely immersed in memories of how they went from being strangers to friends. She couldn't focus on anything else and constantly thought about Ouyang Qiming.
Physical education class was about to start, and Han Min and Guo Jingjing pulled Guoguo into the changing room.
When Guoguo opened her locker to take out her gym uniform, a hint of confusion flashed in her eyes. Who had given her this gym uniform? Who had paid for it?
While Guoguo's class, Class One, Grade Ten, was having physical education class, Murong Xiuxian's class was also in session. Under the orders of their Physical Education Teacher, both classes ran several laps around the track before dispersing for free activities.
Guo Jingjing accompanied Guoguo as they rested on a bench under a tree when they spotted Han Min approaching slowly with three cans of cola.
Han Min had shiny black short hair and was the tallest among the girls, with long legs. In about three minutes, she reached Guoguo and Guo Jingjing and handed each of them a can of cola.
Guoguo and Guo Jingjing shifted slightly to make room as Han Min sat down between them.
Guoguo held the cola and looked around as if searching for someone.
The playground, basketball court, and track were all combined into one area where most students from both classes were active. Although Guoguo didn't find Ouyang Qiming, she did spot Murong Xiuxian.
Murong Xiuxian was sitting on a bench under a maple tree across from Guoguo, looking down at her phone.
Guoguo, disappointed not to see Ouyang Qiming, opened the cola in his hand and drank it sullenly without saying a word.
"Guoguo, what's wrong with you? You always seem down and distracted. We are your friends; if something is bothering you, don't keep it to yourself. We'll help as much as we can," Han Min said, unable to bear seeing Guoguo like this.
