Gu Tianye, wearing a white coat, hurried down the stairs and walked into a quiet corridor on the side of the hospital lobby. 0

This was a relatively secluded area within the hospital. He took out his phone from his pocket and answered the call. 0

"Darling, have you missed me?" The voice on the other end had slightly parted lips, radiating a pink glow. 0

"I think about you every minute." 0

"What do you think about? My body or my spirit?" 0

"Both, both." 0

"It seems like you're mainly eager, huh?" 0

He chuckled but didn't respond. 0

"I worked the night shift last night and I'm off today. Are you coming over?" There was an ambiguous hint in her tone. 0

His blood began to race. 0

"I'm just finishing up work too. I'll be there soon, wait for me." 0

"Okay, I'll send you a selfie." 0

In the selfie, the woman had a curvaceous figure, her red lips slightly parted, revealing a hint of her red tongue. 0

They say women are like snakes; at that moment, he truly imagined a tender red snake's tongue, and his heart trembled along with it. 0

As his gaze fell on her full chest, saliva began to pool in his mouth, and he felt his throat swallow nervously. He hurriedly took off his work uniform while walking and finally broke into a run toward the parking lot... 0

Her name is Nie Xiaoyu. She is twenty-three years old and works as a dispensing pharmacist in the western medicine department of the hospital. She has been at the hospital for just over a year. Initially, they only knew each other casually, exchanging faint greetings when they occasionally met in the hospital. Since they belonged to different departments, there weren't many opportunities for them to cross paths. 0

However, one gathering later changed their relationship completely. 0

The annual Lunar New Year arrived, and the hospital held its routine internal spring gathering. 0

During the gathering, colleagues raised their glasses, and he, unable to hold his liquor, drank quite a bit. By the end of the event, he was already completely drunk and unconscious. 0

His colleagues were in a dilemma about how to get him home. Everyone had been drinking and couldn't drive, so they could only take a taxi. Gu Tianye's home was in a different direction from theirs, making it impossible to drop him off. If they let him take a taxi alone, the driver would surely be unwilling to take a drunken passenger. 0

As they hesitated whether to call Qi Luoling for help, Nie Xiaoyu happened to be saying goodbye to her colleagues in the pharmacy department and preparing to go home. 0

Seeing the situation, she took the initiative to ask for Gu Tianye's address. Upon learning it, she found out that their homes were very close together. She could conveniently share a ride and promised his colleagues that she would safely get him home. 0

That night, Gu Tianye was very drunk, so much so that he had no memory of the events that transpired. 0

The next morning, he woke up to find himself lying naked in bed, with a completely unclothed Nie Xiaoyu sleeping soundly in his arms. 0

He was startled and panicked as he pushed her away and sat up. 0

"You... you... how did you get here?" 0

"Dr. Gu, take a good look; this is my rented apartment." The awakened Nie Xiaoyu remained calm as she spoke and casually got dressed. "You were drunk last night, Dr. Gu; you have quite a bit of strength." 0

After she got dressed, she smiled at him as if they had simply watched a movie together. 0

"I... I... don't know... I... you... we..." He stuttered in his panic. 0

She smiled sweetly at him: "Do I really need to say it, Dr. Gu? Just look at us; we're both naked, so you know what happened." 0

"Ah, I'm sorry! I didn't know! I'm really an idiot! I'm such an idiot!" 0

He exclaimed as confusion swirled in his mind. 0

"It's fine, Dr. Gu; don't feel that way. If you do, I'll feel very ashamed. You were drunk and didn't even know what you were doing; it's not your fault. You don't need to blame yourself; I truly don't blame you." 0

Nie Xiaoyu approached him with clear eyes that displayed rare innocence. 0

"Actually, Dr. Gu, I fell in love with you the first time I saw you. So I don't blame you; I'm willing." 0

Her sincere confession made him flinch. He couldn't face her, and a deeper sense of guilt washed over him. 0

In the days that followed, she and he encountered each other at the hospital, greeting each other as calmly as before. Everything seemed as if nothing had happened, so calm that he thought it was just a dream he had. 0

Two weeks passed like this, and he thought she really had forgiven him for getting drunk and didn't hold his mistakes against him. It should be fine now, it should be fine, he told himself as his tense nerves slowly relaxed. 0

For this, he felt both guilty and grateful towards Nie Xiaoyu. 0

Until one day, Nie Xiaoyu called him, her voice filled with panic and fear. 0

"Gu Ge, could you come to my house? I'm... I'm scared..." Her words were incoherent. 0

He was startled, thinking something serious had happened at her home, and hurriedly drove to her house. 0

As soon as he entered, she rushed into his arms like an octopus clinging tightly to him. 0

"There are... there are mice in my house." 0

He was momentarily speechless, thinking it was exaggerated to be this afraid of mice. 0

He had spent a long time pondering how people could be afraid of mice and summarized four reasons: 0

1. Disgust; they fear mice bring dirt. If they were as small as cockroaches, one could easily step on them. If they were as big as cats or dogs, one could keep them as pets. But the size and appearance of mice are rather awkward. 0

2. Childhood conditioning; mice are seen as evil and dirty creatures. Many people develop a lifelong aversion due to early exposure to such ideas. 0

He personally understood this deeply. When he was young, the uncle next door loved to scare children. While squatting in a public restroom together, he would casually say, "Be careful or the mouse will bite off your little thing..." 0

Even though he was only three or four years old at the time and had many years before needing that part of himself, he had heard enough wild stories to know how important it was and that if it were lost, it wouldn't grow back. The panic from that moment was etched in his memory. 0

3. Fear stemming from direct or indirect harm caused by mice. 0

Mice often run very quickly and disappear in the blink of an eye. They suddenly dart out, easily startling people. 0

When Gu Tianye snapped back to reality after his fear of mice, he awkwardly realized that Nie Xiaoyu was still holding onto him. 0

He gently pushed her away and asked calmly, "Where is the mouse?" 0

But Nie Xiaoyu still held on tightly, showing no signs of letting go. Instead, she buried her face deep into his chest and said, "It's on the balcony." 0

Their bodies were closely pressed together, and her warm, fragrant scent made his heart race a little. 0

He struggled to control himself and said calmly, "If you don't let go of me, how can I go to the balcony?" 0

Only then did Nie Xiaoyu shyly release him. 0

He began to seriously examine the room. The last time he had fled this rental apartment in a panic, he hadn't taken a good look at it. 0

This was an old two-bedroom apartment. Nie Xiaoyu must have shared this place with her girlfriend. 0

The white paint on the walls was peeling in large patches, with white dust at the bottom. The milky-colored floor was worn down to patches of black and white. 0

In the narrow living room stood a low, worn square dining table with remnants of the previous meal still on it. A few short black stools surrounded it. The grayish-black fabric sofa was so old that its original color was unrecognizable. In the corner of the living room sat an old refrigerator with a yellowed exterior. 0

Gu Tianye walked through the living room and stepped onto the balcony. The protective railing on the balcony was covered in rust, and there were piles of household clutter against the wall. Not far away lay a small mouse, motionless. 0

He found a stick and poked its body; it still didn't move. It turned out to be just a dead mouse, which he wrapped in newspaper. 0

When she saw him coming back with the mouse, she screamed in fright and quickly dashed into her room, slamming the door behind her. 0

He helplessly grimaced, holding the mouse wrapped in newspaper as he walked out of the apartment and down the stairs. Not far downstairs was a large black garbage bin, into which he quickly tossed the mouse. 0

He looked up towards the third floor where Nie Xiaoyu was standing on the balcony watching him. He intended to just wave goodbye and leave, but he thought shouting across would disturb the neighbors and seemed impolite. After hesitating for a long time, he decided to go upstairs to greet her before leaving. 0

Once inside her room, he noticed that thick dark blue curtains were drawn shut, suddenly blocking out sunlight and making the room dim. However, her room had its light on, casting a warm orange glow in the darkness. 0

He was taken aback, suddenly feeling that something was off, and wanted to turn and leave. 0

Just as he thought to do so, she had already quickly closed the door. 0

With the faint light, he finally noticed that during the time it took him to go downstairs, she had changed into a burgundy short V-neck nightgown. 0

She revealed her slightly thin collarbone, her long curly hair casually cascading down, her eyes clear and pure yet mixed with a hint of laziness, her red lips lightly pressed together. A pair of fair long legs and her curvaceous body were subtly visible beneath the nightgown. 0

He awkwardly realized that his body was reacting. He was a healthy and normal man; after Qi Luoling's miscarriage, he hadn't touched a woman for three months, so this reaction was quite normal. 0

Nie Xiaoyu leaned in to kiss him, teasing him with her hands, and his willpower gradually crumbled... 0

He couldn't resist this feast of beauty, and what frustrated him even more was that emotionally, he seemed to be starting to like her a little. 0

The first time was a mistake. 0

The second time was a trap. 0

The third time was a drug. 0
