Qiluo Ling turned around and saw someone approaching her from a distance. In the faint moonlight, she could make out that it was a long-haired woman wearing a Blue Patient Gown. 0

As the figure drew closer, Qiluo Ling recognized her appearance and figure. She was the woman who had been sound asleep in the hospital bed, the only difference being that she had now awakened. 0

Qiluo Ling stared at her in surprise. She looked like a spirit of midnight, walking through the shadowy path of trees, heading straight towards the Lawn, which was in Qiluo Ling's direction. 0

The woman stood before Qiluo Ling, gazing at her for a long time. Her blue eyes sparkled in the darkness, and her round face radiated a dreamlike softness in the dim light. Her slightly parted lips seemed to want to tell an anticipated yet intriguing story. A breeze blew by, causing her long hair to flutter chaotically in the wind. 0

Qiluo Ling felt as if she were enchanted, uncontrollably drawn to her, unable to look away but also unable to speak. The woman remained silent as well, and finally, she extended her slender fingers to gently caress Qiluo Ling's smooth cheek. The cold touch instantly contrasted with Qiluo Ling's warm skin, making her heart tremble slightly. 0

The music, like flowing water, continued to drift through the night sky, playing in an infinite loop. The melody was beautiful yet heartbreaking. In this lonely moonlight that felt like snow, the music made Qiluo Ling weep uncontrollably. 0

It was unclear how much time had passed when the music gradually faded away. Once it completely disappeared, Qiluo Ling finally came to her senses. She looked around, searching her surroundings. Aside from the shadows cast by the moonlight on the ground, there was no one else around. 0

Qiluo Ling glanced at her watch on her wrist; it was exactly twelve oh one in the morning. A new day had arrived; she had not died and was still standing safely in this world. 0

Sitting alone on a wooden chair on the Lawn, Qiluo Ling touched the mark on her right upper arm until dawn began to break. 0

At seven in the morning, a middle-aged man walked out of the hospital lobby and approached Qiluo Ling, taking a seat next to her. The sky was still a pale blue, with a few scattered orange-red streaks of dawn across it. 0

“She still hasn’t woken up,” the middle-aged man said regretfully. 0

“No, she woke up once last night,” Qiluo Ling replied softly. 0

The middle-aged man silently gazed ahead, not saying a word. 0

"You probably don't believe me. But she did wake up last night. She walked out of the hospital room and came to this open area with trees. She just quietly looked at me without speaking. She even gently stroked my face, but after a long while, she disappeared. She returned to that dark world. I don't know why it happened like that," Qiluo Ling said. 0

"This morning, during our routine check-up, we found that all the monitoring equipment indicated she had stopped breathing, and her heart had also ceased to beat, meaning she had completely lost her life. Similarly, the fetus in her womb had no heartbeat and died along with her," the middle-aged man said calmly. 0

Cold tears slid down Qiluo Ling's cheeks. She had thought she was there to awaken her, but unexpectedly, she was there to end her life. Perhaps that was her mission. Maybe their mission was to exchange their lives for her own and that of the fetus. 0

"You don't need to be sad; you have done your best. You have made the efforts you were supposed to make," the middle-aged man comforted Qiluo Ling. 0

Qiluo Ling looked up at the morning sun with tearful eyes. The sky appeared as if it had been dipped in red water, with only a faint light red hue at first, gradually becoming deeper and richer, spreading from one corner of the horizon until it enveloped the entire sky... 0

"Do you plan to leave today?" the middle-aged man asked. 0

"Yes, I need to find a piece of music as a beginning for my rebirth and as a tribute to the lives lost—hers and the fetus's." 0
