After an intense battle, Gon, Chi, Leorio, Curarpikt, and Killua finally managed to catch their breath.
The five of them arrived in this room, where the air seemed to be filled with flickering electric currents, as if they could feel a sense of urgency on their skin.
"It seems off." Leorio took off his sunglasses and carefully surveyed the surroundings, a hint of vigilance flashing in his brown eyes.
Chi furrowed her brows, her hands tightening as a thread as thin as a hair quietly extended from her fingertips, exploring every corner of the room.
"This room has a problem," Chi said with a serious tone.
"Oh? What kind of problem is it?" Killua asked with a mischievous smile, but his gaze was as sharp as an eagle's.
"Electric current riddle," Chi answered nervously.
A huge projection suddenly appeared in the middle of the room, displaying a question and four options. Choosing the wrong one would fill the entire room with electric current.
"This is no joking matter," Curarpikt said seriously, his eyes revealing a determined look that brooked no nonsense.
Gon took out his fishing hook and struck a battle pose, "In that case, we'll just have to face it head-on."
The problem is a physics question about electric current and resistance, seemingly simple but actually hiding a mystery.
"This kind of question..." Leorio said with a smile, "is actually one of my specialties."
"Are you not a doctor?" Killua asked curiously.
"Yes, but medicine also requires physics, especially when performing certain complex surgeries," Leorio explained.
"What do you think the answer is?" Gon asked.
Leorio carefully studied the question and then pointed to one of the options, "I think it's this one."
"Wait." Chi suddenly said, "Are you sure?"
"I'm 95% sure," Leorio replied.
"What about the other five minutes?" Chi asked anxiously.
Leorio smiled and replied, "That's the uncertainty of life."
Gon glanced at Chi and nodded, "Let's choose this one."
Leorio pressed the option, and the whole room was instantly filled with tension. After a few seconds, the projection suddenly disappeared, and a door slowly opened.
"It looks like we made the right choice," Curarpikt sighed with relief.
"No, we both did the right thing," Gon said happily, looking at everyone around him. "It's not just about choosing the right answer, but also being able to trust each other at critical moments."
Chi smiled, feeling very lucky to be with such people.
Then the five people walked towards the door that had just opened.
Gon and his team arrived at a complex and intricate maze.
The stone walls here are made of amber-colored rocks, creating an ancient and mysterious atmosphere. The maze is filled with dim lighting, resembling stars scattered among the complex passageways.
"Wow, this is even more complex than I imagined," Gon couldn't help but mutter under his breath, tapping the ground with his grappling hook as if it could help him find the right path.
Leorio rubbed his temples and sighed, "This place is a real headache, but we can't just stand here doing nothing."
Chi pulled out an invisible thread and her gaze became more focused. "Wait, let me see if I can use my Nen to find the exit of this maze."
Chi's "Thread" special manipulation Nen ability has been activated, and a thin thread is dancing in the air, as if being attracted by some kind of force, slowly moving in a certain direction.
"It looks like it's over here," she said with a smile to everyone.
"Then let's head that way, but still be careful," Curarpikt cautioned everyone vigilantly, his eyes constantly scanning the surroundings for any unexpected occurrences.
The team began to move forward guided by Chi's Nen power. However, at that moment, Killua suddenly stopped.
"Wait, I feel like something is wrong," Killua frowned.
"What's wrong?" Gon turned and asked.
"There are some mechanisms on the floor, like pressure plates," Killua reached out and carefully investigated with Nen.
"Everyone stop!" Killua suddenly shouted. At that moment, a flash of sword light shot out from the floor, shaving off a few strands of his hair.
"Wow, that was too close!" Gon exclaimed.
Leorio patted Killua on the shoulder, "It's a good thing you noticed early, otherwise the consequences would have been unimaginable."
"There really are traps hidden here. It seems I can't let my guard down." Curarpikt tightly grips his short sword.
"Alright, I'll be more careful." Chi nods, her "thread" Nen ability activates again, this time not only searching for an exit, but also adding the function of detecting traps.
After a tense and exciting moment, finally, a bright light appeared in their field of vision. It was the exit, and it looked very close.
"We're about to go out!" Gon exclaimed excitedly.
"Don't get too excited yet, we still don't know if there will be one last trap," Leorio reminded.
Sure enough, at the moment they were about to leave the maze, a huge stone gate suddenly dropped from the sky, about to seal the exit.
"Run!" Killua shouted, activating his Nen power instantly, and a powerful air current pushed the stone gate open.
Everyone suddenly rushed out, just in time to escape the maze before the stone gate fell.
"Phew—" Leorio took out a bottle of water and drank a few big gulps.
"Indeed, we cannot take it lightly," sighed Chi.
"Anyway, we finally made it out," Curarpikt said with a smile.
"Well, but this is just one level of the Tower of Cheap Traps, there's still the next level." Gon looked into the distance, knowing that this was just the beginning.
"Let's go, continue to challenge the next level." Killua said with a smile, a hint of determination flashing in his eyes.
After experiencing a series of indescribable challenges, such as electric current riddles, choosing a path in a maze, and playing dice to avoid stepping on landmines, the five-person team...
Finally, they arrived at a stone-built hall. At this moment, the countdown on their watches showed fifty-five hours. The two huge stone doors in the center of the hall caught their attention.
One is on the right, marking a winding path that takes 45 hours to complete; the other is on the left, only taking 3 minutes to pass through, but can only accommodate a maximum of three people.
"It looks like we've encountered a dilemma," Curarpikt furrowed his brow, one hand touching the weapons hanging on the wall, including a Chinese bronze sword, a Japanese katana, and other ancient and modern weapons from around the world.
Leorio took off his sunglasses, revealing his brown eyes, and glanced at the weapons on the wall. He snorted, "Are these weapons hanging here implying that we must fight to decide which path to take?"
Chi stood to the side, lightly touching her pink dress, her expression calm but focused. "If that's the case, it's too direct. There must be another meaning here."
Killua grabbed her hair, looking a bit impatient, "Anyway, we can't waste time."
At that moment, Gon suddenly walked up to the stone door on the right and turned to everyone, saying, "Listen to me, why don't we try taking this 45-hour path?"
Curarpikt glanced at him suspiciously, "Are you sure? This will take a lot of our time."
Gon smiled, his smile seemed to have a certain magic, making people involuntarily want to believe him, "I have an idea that might allow all of us to walk this path in 3 minutes."
"What idea?" Chi's eyes lit up. She knew that Gon always had creative solutions at the most critical moments.
Gon walked to the middle of the stone wall and picked up a large axe hanging on the wall. "If we can chop down this wall, then the left and right paths will connect, and all five of us can walk together."
Leorio Hey, that's a good idea, Gon. You always manage to surprise people.
"I know this sounds a bit risky," Gon turned to look at Curarpikt and the others, saying as he lightly tapped the pocket of his green jacket with his fingers.
"Sometimes taking risks isn't a bad thing," Chi responded, smiling. She walked over to Gon and gently patted his shoulder, "What's your idea? Let's hear it."
Leorio put down the ancient sword he was examining and walked over, saying, "Well, then speak quickly, time waits for no one."
"We might be able to connect these two doors," Gon took out a small toolbox and opened it to reveal various tools of different shapes and sizes.
"You mean, directly connecting these two passages?" Killua asked, while stroking his chin and wearing a pensive expression.
"Yes, if we can make some small 'modifications'," Gon took out a small drill, "we might be able to get everyone through in 3 minutes."
Curarpikt revealed a smile, "Sounds like a good idea, but are you sure it will work?"
"Nothing is certain," Gon bit his lip, "but I'm willing to try."
Leorio gently patted Gon's back and said, "Let's get to work, young man."
Gon began using tools to drill into the stone door on the right. Stones and dust flew out, each movement making hearts race. After about a minute, a small hole finally appeared in the stone door.
"It looks like it's possible," Chi said excitedly, taking out her watch to check the time. "We still have plenty of time."
"Then hurry up," Curarpikt said, furrowing his brow and drawing a bronze sword. "I'll help you."
"Okay," Gon said as he handed the drill to Curarpikt.
"I'll join in too," Killua took out a small explosive, "This will make it faster."
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Chi asked doubtfully.
"Don't worry, I've got it under control," Killua replied confidently.
They worked together seamlessly, and the hole in the stone gate grew larger and larger. Finally, within the remaining time, they successfully opened a passage wide enough for five people to pass through.
"Well done," Leorio raised the ancient sword in his hand and struck a victorious pose.
"We did it," Gon exclaimed excitedly.
"Let's go then," Chi said while checking everyone's equipment and status.
"Okay," Killua glanced at his watch, "Let's go."
The five of them passed through the newly opened passage and headed to the checkpoint location.
