Day Four: Exploring the Path
In the early morning, the team continued to move forward on the muddy road after the rain. Along the way, a junior fellow accidentally slipped. Bei Lin'er immediately reached out to help him up, and asked with concern, "Are you okay?"
The junior martial brother rubbed his ankle and awkwardly smiled, "It's nothing, just a little scratch."

Listening to their stories, Bei Lin'er was filled with emotion and admiration, "Everyone's story is so unique, and your choices make me proud. We at Benevolent Pavilion are like a big family, supporting each other and growing together."
Peng Yizhi added with a smile, "Yes, although we come from different places and have different backgrounds, we are all now part of Benevolent Pavilion, working together towards a common goal."
The atmosphere by the bonfire became even warmer. Other Senior brotherhood members also began sharing their own stories, some talking about how they overcame difficulties, others mentioning being affected by war, or being orphaned and taken in by Benevolent Pavilion. Each story was filled with sincerity and emotion.
Chen suddenly stood up and mischievously said, "We've been so serious, how about we play something light-hearted? For example, who can tell the funniest joke?"
With Chen's suggestion, the atmosphere around the campfire became more relaxed and cheerful. Everyone was eager to share the jokes they knew, making the evening full of laughter and joy.
First, Chen started off with a joke. He blinked and began, "Once upon a time, a wolf and a sheep became good friends. The wolf said to the sheep, 'Let's play rock-paper-scissors. If you win, you run away and I won't eat you. If I win, well... I still won't eat you.' The sheep, upon hearing this, jumped for joy, but then suddenly thought of a question... 'Do you have hands?'"
Upon hearing this, everyone burst into laughter, with Peng Yizhi laughing so hard that he held his stomach and said, "Chen, your joke is really hilarious!"
Next, Li Lei stood up and pretended to look mysterious as he said, "Let me tell a ghost story. One night, a person was walking on a dark road when suddenly he heard footsteps behind him..."
Everyone was immediately drawn in, listening intently. Li Lei continued to feign mystery and said, "The person turned around to look, but found nothing behind him. He quickened his pace, and the footsteps quickened too. He ran in fear, and the footsteps ran too. Finally, he reached home, went inside, and the footsteps stopped. He breathed a sigh of relief, then suddenly remembered that he was wearing new shoes today, and it was the sound of his own shoes."
After everyone finished listening, there was a moment of confusion, followed by bursts of laughter. A junior brother chuckled and said, "Li Lei, your story started off scary, but the ending was so funny, you're really talented!"
After that, other Senior brotherhood members joined in one after another, each sharing their own jokes or amusing anecdotes. Some were light-hearted jokes, some were riddles with wisdom, and there were even some hilarious family anecdotes that had everyone in stitches.

The crowd fell into contemplation, and for a moment, no one could answer. Peng Yizhi smiled and said, "The answer is that the sheep doesn't need to cross the river at all, because it's already on this side of the river."
After everyone heard it, they were first stunned, and then burst into laughter. Li Lei shook his head and said with a smile, "Peng Yizhi, your quick wit is truly clever. You've fooled us all!"
