In the next few days, Amy and Nick take care of their parents during the day and research the clues provided by Jis at night.
They continue to try various methods in the hope of finding a way to break the curse of Puppet Mother.
As time passes, the challenges faced by Amy and Nick become increasingly severe.
The two siblings discover that their parents' condition is deteriorating, progressing from initial speechlessness to a startling transformation of their bodies becoming gradually puppet-like.
Amy noticed this change for the first time while she was helping her father Jack change clothes.
She was horrified to find that his fingers had become stiff, as if being manipulated by invisible strings. Her heart was filled with fear, afraid that this change would spread to his entire body.
"Nick, come and look at Dad's hand!" Amy called urgently.
Nick ran over and saw his father's stiff fingers, his face instantly turning pale. "How is this possible? We must find a solution quickly!"
Amy's eyes were filled with tears as she gently touched her father's hand, trying to make it return to normal. But no matter how hard she tried, the fingers remained stiff and motionless.
As time passed, Laura also began to experience the same symptoms. Her toes started to become stiff like wood, making her walk clumsily and weak.
Whenever Amy and Nick try to help their parents walk, they can feel that unnatural stiffness, which fills their hearts with despair.
"We can't give up, Nick. There must be a way," Amy said with a choked voice.
Nick nodded, his eyes filled with determination. "Yes, we will definitely find a way."
They worked day and night studying the information provided by Jis, hoping to find the key to lifting the curse. But no matter how hard they tried, it seemed like they couldn't find any clues to solve it.
Amy's mood is getting heavier and heavier. She watches her parents gradually lose their original appearance, and her heart is like being cut by a knife. She constantly blames herself, thinking it is her responsibility to let her parents fall into such a situation.
Nick, on the other hand, tries to remain calm, but his eyes are also filled with worry and anxiety. He constantly comforts Amy and tells her that it is not her fault.
They are busy back and forth around their parents every day, taking care of their daily lives and constantly looking for solutions. But as time goes by, it seems that the parents' condition is getting more and more serious.
Amy and Nick's mood also becomes more and more urgent. They know that if they can't find a solution, their parents may become completely "puppet-like," losing all humanity.
At night, when Amy and Nick lay exhausted in bed, their hearts were filled with endless worries and unease. Amy tightly held onto a crystal, hoping to find a glimmer of hope from it.
"Jis, is there really no other way?" Amy asked softly, her voice tinged with despair.
Jis's voice came from the energy stone again, this time with a hint of heaviness: "I've done my best, Amy. But this curse is too powerful. Just by agreeing to the conditions of the Puppet Mother, one will gradually become a puppet. I can't completely undo it. We need a stronger power, perhaps only by finding the Puppet Eye where Margaret stored the power of the eyes."
Amy asked, "So where could this Puppet Eye possibly be?" Jis replied, "I don't know, but it shouldn't be too far from this house. Let's search Margaret's diary for any clues."
Amy and Nick, prompted by Jis, once again flipped through Margaret's diary. They sat in the dimly lit living room, carefully examining each page, hoping to find clues about Puppet Eye.
As they turned the pages, Amy's brow furrowed tighter and tighter. The diary was filled with Margaret's fervent descriptions of the puppet world she had created and her desire for power. However, there seemed to be no mention of the specific location of Puppet Eye.
"Here!" Nick suddenly pointed to a corner of the diary, where there was a small doodle of a tiny pentagram, with a winding path next to it.
Amy stared at the doodle, a glint in her eyes. "Look at this pentagram, doesn't it look like the symbol under the big tree in our backyard? Could this path lead to the location of the Puppet Eye?"
Nick's eyes also sparkled with hope. "We can go there and take a look, maybe that's the place we're looking for."
Amy pondered for a moment and then said, "But this time, we need to be fully prepared."
"Yes," Nick responded.
During this preparation process, their emotions fluctuated, sometimes filled with hope and other times falling into despair. But regardless, the two siblings never gave up.
Late at night, Amy and Nick would sit in the living room, quietly contemplating and discussing.
The Jis in the energy stone also occasionally gives them some hints and encouragement.
Through these communications, they gradually pieced together a rough plan, although it is full of risks, it is also the only hope.
Finally, on a dark night, Amy and Nick, after settling their parents, decided to take action.
They prepared the necessary items and summoned all their courage to explore and search for Puppet Eye.
Guided by the instructions in the old diary, they found a map marking the location of a huge old tree near their home. Beneath this tree was a hidden entrance to the basement.
When night fell, the two of them, carrying flashlights, walked to the old tree. The trunk was thick and gnarled, and the surrounding rocks were covered in moss.
Dim moonlight filtered through the leaves, casting a glow on the faces of the two. Amy held the flashlight, its beam moving between the rocks.
"It's so gloomy here. Are you sure we should go down?" Nick swallowed nervously, his eyes showing some hesitation.
Amy turned around, her brows furrowed, but her eyes shimmered with determination. "We have to find the answer, Nick. No matter where it's hidden."
After careful searching, Amy finally stopped the flashlight beam on what seemed like an ordinary stone. She squatted down, her fingers gently exploring the edge of the stone.
"I found it!" she exclaimed in excitement. With her push, the stone slowly moved aside, revealing a hidden passage leading underground.
Nick Come over here and bend down to observe that narrow entrance. "It's amazing, just like a scene from an adventure story."
