The eighth destination is a psychedelic forest, where the scenery often changes, full of mystery and strangeness.
In that psychedelic forest, the disciples of Murong Yao and immortal Yueshea entered a trial full of illusions. Twisted trees and shifting light created a surreal world.
"This place is truly unusual, we must be careful with every step," a disciple whispered, looking around vigilantly.
Murong Yao nodded, her hand lightly touching a twisted tree trunk, "Every inch of this place seems to be filled with life."
They carefully made their way through the Enchanted Forest, occasionally encountering strange creatures. A bird-like creature leaped down from a tree and stared at them.
"We mean no harm in coming here, we are just searching for a precious herb," Murong Yao explained softly, attempting to communicate with the creature.
It seems that the creature understood her words, let out a low growl, and then flew away.
"Look over there!" Another disciple suddenly pointed ahead, and Murong Yao turned to see a clump of spirit fusion grass.
She was about to pick it when suddenly a force pushed her away, and a phantom-like creature appeared, with deep wisdom in its eyes.
Murong Yao took a deep breath and said, "We don't want to disrupt the peace here, we just need this spirit fusion grass."
Phantom creature After a moment of silence, its voice pierced through the treetops like the wind: "You must use your most precious possession as an exchange."
Murong Yao She closed her eyes and pondered for a moment. She knew that her most precious possession was her hairpin - a treasure symbolizing her bond with her master. Taking a deep breath, she made the decision to sacrifice this precious item: "I am willing to exchange my hairpin."
Phantom creature nodded, reached out its hand, and took the shimmering fairy hairpin. Then, it gently waved its hand, and a spirit fusion grass slowly appeared in the air, drifting towards Murong Yao.
Murong Yao carefully caught the spirit fusion grass, feeling a pang of sadness in her heart, but also mixed with a hint of joy.
A disciple approached her and comforted her softly, "Murong Yao, your sacrifice will not be in vain. We have finally obtained the spirit fusion grass."
Murong Yao turned her head and responded with a smile, "Yes, this is for a greater purpose. This spirit fusion grass will save many people."
Phantom creature suddenly spoke: "How is it possible to obtain it with just a hairpin? Of course, what is meant is the friendship of the person who gave this gift. By making the exchange, I will devour memories and recollections."
The words of Phantom creature heavily struck Murong Yao, causing her to feel dizzy, as if the whole world was spinning. Her heart was filled with hesitation and struggle. Losing the memories with Master was no different than losing a part of her soul.
"You mean I have to give up all memories and feelings with my Master in order to obtain this spirit fusion grass?" Murong Yao's voice trembled slightly, with a hint of reluctance and tears in her eyes.
Phantom creature nodded, its voice filled with ruthlessness: "Yes, that is the price you must pay."
Murong Yao took a deep breath, her emotions were extremely complex. She recalled every moment spent with Master, each memory shining like precious gems, radiating an indelible light.
"I...I accept, but I have one condition: the memories must last for a month before disappearing," Murong Yao finally made a decision, her voice low and resolute.
Phantom creature After a moment of silence, it nodded slowly as if accepting Murong Yao's terms. Its voice was deep and mysterious: "I respect your decision, but remember, once the time comes, everything will vanish like smoke."
A hint of determination and sadness flashed in Murong Yao's eyes. She knew that this month would be her final farewell to the past.
Under the influence of the power of the Phantom creature, Murong Yao felt her memories shrouded in a thin mist, but still clear. She knew deep down that these precious memories would gradually fade in the days to come, eventually disappearing.
"Thank you," Murong Yao whispered to the Phantom creature, her voice filled with gratitude and a sense of parting.
Phantom creature No response, just silently disappeared into the depths of the forest. Murong Yao tightened the spirit fusion grass in her hand, turned and left this Mysterious Forest with the disciples of immortal Yueshea.
On their way back, Murong Yao was immersed in her own thoughts. She recalled every moment spent with Master, every training session, every laughter, those happy and warm times as if they were relived yesterday.
Under the moonlight, Murong Yao sat alone on the mountaintop, gazing at the starry sky. She whispered to herself, "Xuanhua Master, I will always remember your teachings and care for me. Even if memories fade, your place in my heart will never change."
"Murong Yao, we still have two more places left, do you want to go there?" asked Immortal Yueshea's disciple.
"Go, we must go. The incident with the Spirit Fusion Pill last time taught me a lesson: it's not a bad idea to be more prepared in everything," said Murong Yao.
The next destination is a valley surrounded by eternal mist.
In the mist-shrouded valley, the disciples of Murong Yao and immortal Yueshea carefully make their way. The thick fog makes visibility extremely poor, and every step is filled with unknowns and dangers.
"The fog is too thick, we need to be careful," a disciple reminded nervously, his eyes quickly scanning the surroundings, trying to discern the direction.
Murong Yao nodded, her hand lightly touching the nearby stone wall, feeling every inch of the cold rock. "We need to stay calm and follow my footsteps."
They moved forward slowly, with Murong Yao leading the way, listening to the faint sounds of nature around them. Finally, by a secluded spring, her eyes caught sight of the shimmering spirit fusion grass.
"There! The spirit fusion grass is right by the spring," she exclaimed softly, her eyes shining with excitement.
Just as Murong Yao reached out to pick the spirit fusion grass, the spring water suddenly surged with a tremendous sound of rushing water. A powerful current rushed toward her like a raging beast of floodwaters.
"Be careful!" Another disciple exclaimed, rushing forward to assist.
Murong Yao struggled against the strong impact of the water, desperately trying to grab onto the spirit fusion grass, but the force of the water was too powerful, almost sweeping her away.
As she struggled in the water, Murong Yao felt her strength gradually fading. Her hands tightly grasped the roots of the spirit fusion grass, but she was unable to bring the whole plant to the surface.
At this moment, a disciple of immortal Yueshea arrived just in time, reaching out to grab her arm and help her escape from the water.
After they landed, Murong Yao gasped for breath, holding only a small piece of the root of the spirit fusion grass in her hand. A hint of disappointment flashed in her eyes: "Failed again, only the root is left."
The disciple patted her on the shoulder and comforted her, "At least we are still safe, and there are other places to look for spirit fusion grass."
Murong Yao nodded, and a spark of hope reignited in her eyes. "Yes, we can't give up. Every step, no matter how difficult, is a path to success."
Although the search in the Valley of Mist was not entirely successful, Murong Yao did not lose confidence.
