Outside Siberian Road, Principal Seris angrily pounded his fist on the table, glaring at the tactical map in front of him. His brow furrowed deeply, his expression far from his usual grace and composure. Displayed before him was the blurry outline of Siberian Road and scattered magical energy points.
Leona, the headmistress of the magic academy, elegantly entered the room wearing an ice-blue robe. She shook her head slowly, slowing her pace.
"You don't need to pursue it anymore, Seris," she said calmly.
"What? Principal Seris showed a nervous expression. "Siberian Road is the most dangerous place, where even God's prayers cannot be heard."
"Just let them in," Leona continued softly, "Countless mages and merchants have gone in for years, and not a single one has ever come back alive. Perhaps this is the trial they need to face."
Seris gave Leona a displeased look, but ultimately accepted her suggestion.
At this moment, Sophia and Morris are riding on the back of Thanos - a nine-star Dragonkin demon, and then entered Siberian Road.
When they entered the ancient city, they were stunned by the scene before them. The ground of this ancient city was a mixture of limestone and volcanic rock, presenting a strange gray-black color. Giant stone pillars soared into the sky, adorned with various strange runes and images, like an abandoned gathering place for deities.
Along the way were skeletons—some human, some belonging to various strange creatures. These were all people and creatures who had come here to seek treasure, but now they had become permanent residents of this place.
"I don't like the atmosphere here," Sophia murmured, clutching the "Key of the Celestial Realm" tightly in her hands, her staff.
Morris sighed, gripping the "Shadowfang" dagger in his hand. He could feel a dark power pervading this ancient city.
"I feel the same way, but we didn't have a choice. We can only keep moving forward."
Suddenly, a dark shadow gathered behind them. It was a familiar figure—Azansos.
"I didn't expect the rumors to spread so widely. You've even been wanted by Three Empires, yet here you are, still alive!" Azansos smirked, revealing a cold and cunning smile. "Since that's the case, there's no need for you to leave here alive."
Azansos waved his hand, and a dark magical wave surged towards Sophia and Morris. Sophia tightly gripped the "Key of the Celestial Realm" staff, and her magical power surged in an instant, establishing an invisible connection with the staff. She raised her arm, and a barrier surged out from the tip of the staff, forming a transparent circular protective shield that blocked the dark magical wave.
"Your evil plan ends here, Azansos," Sophia said, her blue eyes shining with determination and courage.
At the same time, Morris also refused to back down. He drew the "Shadowfang" dagger, its blade immediately absorbing the surrounding darkness, weakening Azansos's attack. He glanced at Sophia, their eyes meeting, as if reaching some kind of silent agreement.
"You are just like a mantis trying to stop a chariot." Azansos sneered and suddenly sang a forbidden curse loudly.
At that moment, Thanos beside him let out a low growl, and the overwhelming pressure of the nine-star Dragonkin demon instantly covered the sky and earth. Under this pressure, Azansos's forbidden curse suddenly stopped.
"Your game is over, Azansos," Morris said coldly, suddenly rising from the ground and slashing towards Azansos with "Shadowfang."
Azansos quickly dodged, but his sleeve was still cut by "Shadowfang." He took a few steps back, finally showing a hint of unease on his face.
Sophia seized the opportunity, directing the "Key of the Celestial Realm" towards Azansos. A dazzling light flashed at the tip of her staff. She softly uttered an incantation, and the light transformed into a high-energy beam aimed at Azansos.
Azansos had no time to react. He was struck by the beam, and his body dispersed like black smoke, escaping once again.
"It looks like things have settled down here." Morris put away "Shadowfang" and turned to smile at Sophia.
"No, not yet," Sophia sighed. "We still need to find out if there are any clues about the meteor on Siberian Road." The two of them and Thanos returned to the central square of the ancient city.
On the other side, outside of Siberian Road, the scenery changes constantly, and various magical atmospheres intertwine, like a mysterious magical web, concealing the true situation inside.
Amidst this interwoven magic, stood two figures towering like ancient stone monuments, the headmistress of the School of Magic, Leona, and the headmaster of Noah Academy, Seris. Their expressions were solemn, as if all the noise and optimism had been compressed into this moment of seriousness.
Leona was dressed in her high-level mage robe woven with ice-blue magic silk, elegant yet dignified in style. Her gaze was firm, yet tinged with a subtle, barely perceptible anxiety. Meanwhile, Seris wore a traditional academy-style robe, and beneath his gem-like eyes seemed to hide too many unresolved mysteries and concerns.
"We received bad news." Leona's voice seemed to have a kind of magical power, making the surrounding air even more oppressive, "Siberian Road's seal is about to be released again, and that terrible thing—the magic weapon tainted with evil energy—will release its poisonous power once more."
Seris felt a chill run down his spine after hearing this. He knew what this meant; this artifact not only had destructive power, but it was also a key mentioned in many ancient prophecies.
"What should we do?" His voice was firm and resolute, without a hint of hesitation or timidity.
Leona looked at the distant sky and said, "We must leave here immediately, and time is very limited. I can feel the power of evil growing stronger gradually. They are like hungry wolves spotting their prey."
Seris fell silent for a moment, then said, "I will gather the high-level mages of the academy and prepare to leave. But what do you think will happen to Sophia and Morris? Siberian Road is so dangerous that not even the prayers of the gods can be heard."
Leona sighed, somewhat helpless. "This is exactly what I'm worried about. But perhaps they can find some kind of method, some method we haven't thought of, to deal with all of this. I've always had this feeling that maybe they will be the key to unlocking all these mysteries."
