Hearing what Dou Mama said, Wu Linxi and Liu Anfeng exchanged glances, both contemplating the matter. 0

Wu Linxi nodded first and said, "That's exactly right." 0

Before long, Liu Anfeng also nodded, "No wonder it sounded familiar before; it turns out to be for this reason." 0

Just as the two confirmed this idea, they suddenly recalled why the person named Zheng Ning had come to Liu Residence. They couldn't help but show expressions of surprise, slowly turning their heads to look at Qing Wu. 0

"Has he seen you before? Why did he specifically come to the residence looking for you?" Liu Anfeng asked in disbelief. "If he is indeed the Zheng Ning we’ve heard of... this person is extremely difficult to invite." 0

Others might not know, but their teacher had studied alongside Imperial Teacher Zheng An in his youth, so they were aware of some details about the Zheng Family. 0

Their teacher, Zheng An, had a younger brother named Zheng Ning. He was exceptionally talented and eloquent; unfortunately, he was not focused on proper pursuits. To him, things like imperial examinations or holding official positions were all worthless. Rather than confining himself to daily reading and preparing for exams, he preferred the freedom of traveling and enjoying nature. 0

Having thought this way, he acted accordingly. 0

Thus, the young master of the Zheng Family could hardly be seen throughout the year; most of the time he was out traveling. He would only return to the capital occasionally when he had some free time. 0

Could someone with such a personality be persuaded to stay in the capital to teach and enlighten others? 0

That was a joke! 0

Who could possibly invite him? 0

Looking at Brother San's inquiry, Qing Wu herself was quite puzzled. 0

Dou Mama took a moment to recall who that person was. Being new here, she had no idea about his background. 0

She could only shake her head firmly, indicating that she did not know this person. 0

Qing Wu was gentle and soft-hearted, not one to deceive in such matters. Seeing her reaction, the two young men began to feel puzzled. Upon careful consideration, they increasingly sensed that something was amiss. 0

Could it be that it wasn't Zheng Ning, but rather another person with the same name... 0

While they were entangled in this thought, the He Family, upon hearing the news, was also surprised. They summoned someone to invite this gentleman over, deciding to take a look before making any conclusions. After giving the instructions, the He Family recalled another urgent matter that needed attention and urged the previously arranged person to hurry to the Third Branch to call for the Wenwu Brothers. 0

The person who received the order had just left when a commotion outside interrupted them. Soon after, three voices—two men and one woman—grew closer. The loud noise made it easy to discern that it was Liu Anmeng and her two brothers, Liu Anwen and Liu Anwu. 0

Since learning that the Wenwu Brothers had injured Liu An Feng Qi, the He Family had already been annoyed with them. Hearing the ruckus outside, she could no longer contain her irritation and immediately walked to the door, scolding coldly, "What kind of noise is this? It's utterly chaotic!" 0

Turning her gaze towards the trio of siblings, the He Family coldly nodded, "Ah, so it's you three who have come." 0

At first, they thought her reprimand was directed at the servants in the courtyard. However, with her second sentence, the tone shifted. 0

Liu Anmeng suddenly realized that when He Family mentioned "utterly chaotic," she was referring to them rather than the random servants in the courtyard. 0

She became furious at once, stamping her foot in anger and saying, "What do you mean by this, Second Aunt? Are we not allowed to speak in your courtyard?" 0

"You are overthinking it. I merely spoke casually," He Family replied dismissively without letting them enter the house. Instead, she continued speaking from the doorway in the cold air: "Listen, your two brothers have beaten Feng Ge'er." 0

Her statement was not a question but a straightforward assertion. 0

Liu Anmeng raised her chin and scoffed, "Where did Second Aunt hear such nonsense? Someone must have been gossiping in front of you for you to think this way." 0

"Oh?" 0

Upon hearing He Family's indifferent response, Liu Anmeng became even more enraged. Ignoring that this person was her elder, she reached out and pulled Liu Anwen—who was closer—to stand in front of He Family. Then she crossed her arms and looked at He Family with a cold smile. 0

"If Aunt wishes to make trouble, why not first judge our case? What exactly did my two brothers do wrong to provoke Feng Cousin into being so ruthless as to beat them up like this?" 0

Previously, the He Family had focused most of their attention on Liu Anmeng and had not noticed much else. However, upon seeing Liu Anwen's condition, their hearts sank, and they couldn't help but furrow their brows. 0

Before them, Liu Anwen no longer wore his usual carefree smile. His eyes were dark and bruised, his nose was crooked, and there was a cut at the corner of his mouth with some dried blood on it. 0

It was evident that he had been beaten badly. Moreover, he was injured more severely than Liu Anfeng. 0

The He Family recalled Liu Anfeng's situation; he hadn’t even had a chance to fight back before being beaten to his current state by the two brothers. If that was the case, where did Liu Anwen's injuries come from? 0

Could it be that Feng Ge'er lied... 0

That shouldn't be the case. He was not a child who would casually tell lies. 0

As the He Family pondered this, they saw Liu Anwu also stepping forward. He too had been beaten up, with bruises on his face; although his injuries were slightly less severe than Liu Anwen's, they were still worse than Liu Anfeng's. 0

The twin brothers stood side by side, their confidence bolstered significantly as they shouted, "We came to find Liu Anfeng to settle this! You didn’t treat us well when we arrived, but how could you lay hands on your brothers like this!" 0

"Who are you calling brothers!" 0

A slurred shout came from Liu Anfeng, who was being supported by Wu Linxi as he made his way to the door. "You clearly beat me up, and I couldn’t fight back. How dare you turn around and say that I hit you!" 0

As he spoke, the gaps where his teeth used to be let out air with every word. He glared angrily at the twins and was shocked when he caught sight of them. 0

Liu Anfeng stared in disbelief at the two of them. "Weren't you fine before? How did you end up like this?" Remembering what they had said earlier, he quickly waved his hands in defense towards the He Family. "Mother, I didn’t hit them; I really didn’t." 0

The He Family knew their son well; he was certainly not one to shirk responsibility. Even if he did something wrong and didn’t want to admit it, he would only remain silent and never directly deny it like he was doing now. 0

It seemed that he truly hadn’t done it. 0

The He Family reached out to touch his swollen face. Seeing her beloved son wince in pain from even this slight touch broke her heart. Turning her gaze back to the siblings, her expression grew increasingly unfriendly. "Feng Ge'er is five years older than Anwen and Anwu. How could he have possibly hurt them like this?" 0

"Who says he can't hit people just because of his age?" Liu Anwu immediately retorted. 0

"Exactly," Liu Anwen chimed in, "We see his age and don't fight back. Yet he comes at us, getting more and more aggressive, insisting on hitting us endlessly." 0

As they exchanged remarks, a soft and delicate voice interrupted their conversation. 0

"Impossible." Qing Wu strained to raise her voice as loud as she could. She tugged at He Family's sleeve and pointed towards the twins' swollen eyes, saying, "Brother, I can't reach." 0

She even stood on tiptoe to gesture. 0

Despite her best efforts to stretch out her hand, she couldn't even reach He Family's shoulder. 0

Everyone suddenly understood. 0

They looked at the already tall Wenwu Brothers and then at the stout but still short Liu Anfeng, becoming increasingly convinced. 0

— The girl was implying that the young master was so much shorter than the Young Masters; how could he possibly have swollen someone's eyes? It seemed that only by clenching his fists and standing on tiptoe could he achieve that. 0

However, in such a situation, anyone would be able to dodge a punch if they saw it coming. 0

Moreover, could someone really hit a half-grown youth so hard with that kind of punching technique? 0

After considering this matter from all angles, everyone looked at the siblings from the Third Branch with expressions that couldn't help but carry a hint of mockery. 0

The three siblings were not willing to concede easily. They immediately began to argue back and forth. 0

"What? You are family, of course you should protect each other. We just arrived and are naturally being bullied by you!" 0

"Exactly. Who says you can't hit people just because of their age? I see the injuries on his face and body; who knows how they got there? Surely he must have done it to himself and is trying to pin it on us!" 0

This is simply outrageous. 0

The most surprising thing is Liu Anmeng. 0

She actually said, "The injury was inflicted on him in your residence. Moreover, you have also admitted that my brother had a conflict with Liu An Feng Qi. Since that is the case, he must have been injured by him!" 0

Among those present were the He Family, Dou Mama, along with Qing Wu, the Liu Anfeng siblings, and Wu Linxi, all of whom were straightforward people. The rest were just the maids who had come over to stop the three of them. They had no idea how to deal with such unreasonable behavior. 0

The He Family was already extremely angry. 0

She did not intend to continue entangling with these unreasonable people. Just as she was about to order someone to detain these three siblings and teach them a lesson for their parents regarding their rudeness, a light laugh came from the gate. 0

Amidst the noise, although the laughter was not very loud, it sounded extremely out of place, causing people to involuntarily turn their gazes in that direction. 0

In the fading sunlight, a young man strolled over. 0

Despite the cold air, he seemed completely unconcerned, his long robe hanging loosely on him without being tightly bound. His steps were slow and relaxed, exuding an air of nonchalance as if he were indifferent to everything around him. 0
