As the night deepened, Zhiyun, Jade Wing, and Li Yuanji quietly made their way through the streets of Chang'an, evading the patrolling soldiers. Their target was the palace, intending to rescue the imprisoned Tang Dynasty founder, Li Yuan.
"The palace is heavily guarded, we need to find a hidden entrance," Zhiyun said in a low voice, with a glint of intelligence in her eyes.
Li Yuanji pointed to a small gate in the distance: "That is the back gate of the Imperial Garden. It is usually only used by the palace gardeners. We can sneak in from there."
The three quickly moved towards the back gate of the Imperial Garden. Jade Wing took the lead, despite being a small capercaillie, his keen perception allowed him to promptly detect hidden dangers.
When they arrived at the back door, they found it locked. Zhiyun gently blew a breath, and a faint mist gathered from her fingertips, slowly forming a small mist ball.
With a gentle wave of her hand, the mist ball floated towards the lock, and with a "click," the lock quietly opened.
They entered the garden cautiously, the surroundings were quiet, with only the sound of the breeze rustling through the leaves. Zhiyun guided Li Yuanji and Yuyi through the garden, sneaking towards the depths of the palace.
Suddenly, a patrol of palace guards appeared in front of them. Zhiyun reacted quickly, a thin paper charm suddenly appeared in her hand. With a gentle wave, the paper charm turned into a beam of light, instantly hiding the three of them.
The palace guards walked past without noticing, continuing on their way.
Li Yuanji looked at Zhiyun in amazement, "Your magic is truly amazing, to be able to conceal yourself like this."
"This is just a little trick," Zhiyun smiled lightly, took back the paper talisman, and the three continued forward.
They passed through the corridor, avoiding the palace maids and eunuchs, and finally arrived at a secluded courtyard. This was where Li Yuan was imprisoned.
Zhiyun Gently pushing open the door, a cold and gloomy air greeted them. The courtyard was simple, with only a stone table and a few stone chairs. In a simple room, they finally found Li Yuan.
Li Yuan, with white hair and a haggard face, still had a determined light in his eyes. Seeing Li Yuanji, his eyes were filled with surprise and concern: "Yuanji, why have you come? It's too dangerous here!"
"Father, I've come to save you," Li Yuanji said urgently.
Zhiyun stepped forward and bowed, "Your Majesty, we will take you away from this place."
Li Yuan nodded, his voice low and firm: "Thank you, but I cannot leave. I must stay and face all of this."
"But Your Majesty, the situation outside is very dangerous," Zhiyun said with concern.
Li Yuan slowly stood up, with a hint of determination in his eyes: "This is my responsibility and I cannot escape from it. Yuanji, Shimin will not harm me. You can rest assured. Since you have escaped, you must find a safe place and take good care of yourself."
Tears filled Li Yuanji's eyes, but he knew that the Emperor's decision was final.
In the end, Zhiyun and Jade Wing could only respect Li Yuan's choice. They quietly left the palace with Li Yuanji and disappeared into the streets of Chang'an in the dead of night.
As the night deepened, Zhiyun, Jade Wing, and Li Yuanji quietly left the palace and entered the dim streets of Chang'an City. Along the way, Li Yuanji was restless, occasionally looking back towards the direction of the palace with complex emotions in his eyes.
Sensing Li Yuanji's worry, Zhiyun comforted him softly, "His Majesty has made his choice. Our most important task now is to ensure your safety."
Li Yuanji nodded, took a deep breath, as if trying to suppress the emotions in his heart.
At this moment, Jade Wing suddenly stopped in his tracks, his eyes becoming distant and confused. Zhiyun noticed this change and asked with concern, "Jade Wing, what's wrong?"
Jade Wing made a few soft cooing sounds, as if trying to recall something.
"Did you just remember something?" Zhiyun asked Jade Wing with a worried look in his eyes.
Jade Wing focused hard, but soon his expression returned to tranquility, as if the previous memory had been erased.
The three continued on, passing through one street after another. Zhiyun remained vigilant, on guard for potential dangers.
Suddenly, a group of black-clad figures leaped out from the shadows, blocking their way. The leader of the black-clad figures looked coldly at them and said, "Isn't this the wanted prince, Li Yuanji? What a gift you've brought us."
Zhiyun tightened his grip on the sword hilt, a chilling aura gradually enveloping the surroundings. "It looks like we have another battle on our hands."
Jade Wing Gently spread its feathers, transforming into a beastly form, ready for battle.
At the command of the men in black, everyone rushed towards them. Zhiyun wielded his sword to meet them, the sword shadows flowing like a waterfall, the tip of the sword gleaming with a cold light.
Jade Wing glided gracefully by her side, his claws striking with precision, repelling the black-clothed figures one by one.
Li Yuanji couldn't join the battle, but his eyes were filled with anxiety and concern.
Zhiyun's swordsmanship became more and more fierce, and each sword seemed to carry the power of wind and thunder. Despite the numerous black-clothed figures, one by one they fell under her sword, unstoppable.
The battle entered a white-hot stage, and with each swing of Zhiyun's sword, it seemed to cut through the air, creating sharp gusts of wind.
Yuyi shuttles between the enemies at an astonishing speed, and every one of his attacks is deadly.
"Hurry, we must break through the encirclement!" Zhiyun shouts loudly, determination shining in her eyes.
The leader of the men in black saw the situation was not good, so he drew a black long sword and stared coldly at Zhiyun: "It seems that today we must settle this once and for all."
Zhiyun gripped the sword handle tightly, ready to meet the opponent's challenge. Her eyes were as sharp as a knife, fearlessly looking at the other party: "Come on, let me see your true strength!"
The two clashed swords, their sword energy colliding and creating deafening impacts.
Zhiyun's swordsmanship is agile and sharp, with each strike targeting the opponent's weaknesses; while the leader of the black-clothed men possesses strong force, each blow carrying destructive power.
Jade Wing assisted from the side, sometimes transforming into a golden light, sometimes unleashing powerful attacks, in coordination with Zhiyun's battle.
Li Yuanji stood to the side, his eyes shining with admiration.
He witnessed the extraordinary combat abilities of Zhiyun and Jade Wing, and couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope in his heart.
Finally, after a fierce battle, Zhiyun pierced through the leader of the black-clothed men's armor with a sword, aiming for a fatal blow. The leader of the black-clothed men fell to the ground with an expression of disbelief in his eyes.
The battle has ended, but Zhiyun knows that this is only temporary peace. She turns to Li Yuanji: "We must leave here quickly."
Li Yuanji nods, and the three of them quickly leave the battlefield, heading deep into the dark corners of Chang'an City.
On the escape route, Zhiyun noticed that Jade Wing seemed somewhat absent-minded. She asked softly, " Jade Wing, did you remember something just now?"
Jade Wing shook her head, seeming confused about her own memories.
Zhiyun looked at him, his eyes filled with concern: "Your past must have been extraordinary. But don't worry, no matter what your past is, we will face it together."
Jade Wing let out a grateful coo, seemingly expressing thanks for Zhiyun's words.
