“Jian Yunong!”
Someone called her name.
Turning around, she saw Xu Yizhi and behind him, Huo Jincheng with a very uncomfortable expression.
Huo Jincheng's eyes fell on the hands that Jian Yunong was holding with a stranger.
“Why are you running? Did I allow you to run around? Do you even have a brain? Walking around in a place like this?” Huo Jincheng pulled Jian Yunong to his side.
The boy, forced to let go, looked at his palm, frowned, and a feeling of confusion appeared on his face.
After being scolded, Jian Yunong couldn't help but retort, “Isn't the person who brought me to this kind of place even more brainless?”
Huo Jincheng held her tightly in his arms. “I'll deal with you when we get home.”
“Jian Yunong.”
Someone called her name again. Jian Yunong almost forgot about his existence. She turned back to reach for him, but was forcibly held by Huo Jincheng, their fingers intertwined tightly.
Is this person crazy? Jian Yunong resisted such intimacy. To her, holding hands and kissing were privileges that should only belong to lovers.
Even though she had slept with Huo Jincheng several times, she still felt that he was very unfamiliar.
“Take him away.”
Jian Yunong spoke up. “A group of men in black just chased him.”
When the boy heard the words "being chased," a look of surprise flashed in his brown eyes, but it was only for a moment before he calmed down.
"Stay away from people like that next time!" Huo Jincheng knew this place was chaotic and was already regretting bringing her here.
"Don't you have any sympathy? This person is a minor."
A minor? Huo Jincheng was speechless; this so-called minor was much taller than Jian Yunong, and his Adam's apple had already developed—clearly a man.
"A minor is still a man!"
As soon as the words fell, Jian Yunong pinched him. "You can offer a million to buy a drink for your white moonlight, but you’re unwilling to lift a finger to help?"
Jian Yunong wore a smile that was both sarcastic and cold, revealing that the fool just saw through things without saying it outright.
"If you don't take him with you, I'll tell Grandpa and Grandma that you brought me to this place." Jian Yunong felt quite shameless, but dealing with someone like Huo Jincheng required such tactics.
"Go."
Huo Jincheng's face darkened, only giving a single word in response.
Jian Yunong opened the back seat for the boy, who invited her, "Come sit with me, sister. I'm scared."
Acting cute is shameful!
Seeing this scene, Huo Jincheng directly picked up Jian Yunong, who was about to climb in, and placed her in the passenger seat instead. He then slammed the back door shut with force.
That little brat thought he could get away with his intentions just because he was young.
The handsome young man made strong eye contact with Mu Qingrang through the rearview mirror.
"Where is your home? How did you end up here? Do you want me to take you to the police station to report this?"
Jian Yunong asked the crucial question. Huo Jincheng sneered; was this fool only thinking of this now? Being chased in such a place, could he be an ordinary person?
The boy curled up in the back, "Sister, I don't remember..."
Huo Jincheng thought: What a poor excuse.
Jian Yunong sighed, "Alright, you can rest for now. I'll call you when we get to the city."
"What, are you planning to take him home? Let me tell you, Jian Yunong, I can only tolerate you up to this point; you absolutely cannot push your luck further."
Huo Jincheng's tone was unpleasant as he drove the car bumpy on purpose, making it impossible for the boy in the back to sleep properly.
Jian Yunong frowned, "Can you even drive? If this continues, I'm going to throw up! If I could push my luck, of course I would! Not doing so would be foolish!"
Huo Jincheng gritted his teeth in anger, "Think about the consequences yourself."
Jian Yunong reconsidered and decided against it; even if she had a thousand dog guts, she wouldn't dare do that. "How about we just drop him off at a hotel?"
Huo Jincheng didn't respond but let out a cold snort as a reluctant agreement.
"ID!"
Upon arriving at the hotel, Huo Jincheng asked the boy without any courtesy.
"No."
Huo Jincheng's scrutinizing gaze assessed him. The boy spoke with complete honesty, showing no signs of lying at all.
Jian Yunong thought for a moment, "Let's just use mine."
"No way."
Huo Jincheng would never allow her identification card to be used by another man to check into a hotel.
"Put it under my name."
"Okay, Chairman."
The front desk girl clearly recognized Mu Qingrang.
She tossed the room card to the boy, and Huo Jincheng pulled Jian Yunong away.
"Hey!"
Jian Yunong winced as he tugged at her wrist. This man had long legs and big strides; she could hardly keep up with him.
"What’s the matter? Do you still want to send him upstairs?" Huo Jincheng's patience with Jian Yunong had reached its limit. Jian Yunong was slightly out of breath, unable to resist pulling her hand away from his grip. It hurt too much; there must be marks left from his hold!
"What if I do send him upstairs?" Jian Yunong protested, feeling wronged. "I’m just sending him up; it’s not like you’re spending a million to support your ex-girlfriend in style. Huo Jincheng, if you’re so reluctant about this, then just get a divorce! Why drag this out..."
The rest of her words were suddenly silenced by Huo Jincheng's lips crashing down on hers. Jian Yunong was pressed against the car door, her slender waist almost sinking into his body under his strong grip, creating an intimate closeness.
Huo Jincheng's kiss was like a storm, refusing to give up on any corner, aggressively conquering everything in its path.
"You say divorce once, and I'll treat you like this."
When he finally released Jian Yunong, she was left gasping for breath, her cheeks flushed, unsure if it was from anger or embarrassment.
After all, there were people coming and going around them.
Huo Jincheng actually kissed her passionately in the parking lot.
Jian Yunong raised her hand to wipe her mouth, but Huo Jincheng held her hands down. He lowered his head again, gently kissing away the remnants of their heated exchange.
"If you want me to treat you like this, you can just say so," Huo Jincheng's tone was strong and domineering, showing no signs of pretense. "No matter the place or occasion, I will do this."
Jian Yunong's eyes lowered, her long, thick eyelashes fluttering softly against Huo Jincheng's cheek. "Alright. I'm not angry anymore, okay? What do you want to eat? I'll take you."
When it came to food, Jian Yunong's eyes lit up with excitement. "Really? I can eat whatever I want?"
Huo Jincheng felt a lump in his throat; when it came to food, this girl seemed to come alive.
"Of course."
Huo Jincheng helped her into the car and fastened her seatbelt before his gaze shifted to a certain corner.
That boy... had followed them?
Hmm...
Seeing this scene, he should have given up hope.
That brat actually dared to covet his wife.
However, what frustrated Huo Jincheng even more was how Jian Yunong could attract men in just a short moment of distraction!
Clearly, she didn't look that great; aside from having a good touch, she had no other advantages.
Half an hour later, Huo Jincheng drove to the place Jian Yunong mentioned. His face immediately darkened, and he pulled Jian Yunong to leave.
Jian Yunong refused and cried out, "I haven't eaten all day! I'm not asking you to take me for Western food; I just want to eat at a street stall, and you won't even agree! You spend so much money on women outside! Did I say anything to you?!"
Everyone around turned their attention towards them.
They looked at him as if he were a scumbag.
Huo Jincheng frowned and said, "Shut up!"
Jian Yunong cheered and plopped down at the greasy table. Huo Jincheng hesitated for a moment before sitting next to her, but he made sure to keep a distance from the table.
"Boss, I want three pounds of crayfish! Spicy flavor! And a plate of cold conch! I also want..."
"Are you a pig?"
Huo Jincheng couldn't help but scoff; he had never seen any woman order by the pound when going out to eat!
Rolling her eyes, Jian Yunong ignored him. It was clear she had never eaten out before; her life was incomplete!
Three pounds of shrimp arrived, and Jian Yunong started eating while Huo Jincheng sat beside her, uninterested.
"Are you really not going to eat?"
Jian Yunong looked regretful, but secretly she was pleased. If he didn't eat, that was fine by her. She was worried he might try to take some. After all, when she used to go out with her aunt, she could never compete with her for food.
At the next table, there was a couple; the man was busy playing on his phone while the woman peeled shrimp for him.
"Learn from her; that's what a girlfriend should be like."
Huo Jincheng felt annoyed with Jian Yunong, who was happily eating by herself, practically burying her face in the bowl of shrimp. How did he end up marrying a woman like this?
"I'm not your girlfriend," Jian Yunong shot him a glare, looking irritated and signaling for him to be quiet.
Halfway through her meal, Jian Yunong started eating conch.
Seeing how skillfully she handled it made Huo Jincheng feel a bit uncomfortable.
"I'm going to wait for you in the car."
"Go ahead."
After all, him being there would only disturb her.
It was perfectly normal for a wealthy young master to be unable to handle street food!
When Jian Yunong went to pay the bill, the boss informed her that the jerk had already settled it.
At first, she didn't react, but later realized that the "scumbag" Boss mentioned was Huo Jincheng. Jian Yunong laughed, "I'll come back to visit you next time."
"What a smell! It's awful!"
As soon as Jian Yunong got in the car, Huo Jincheng couldn't help but complain.
The smell of scallions, ginger, and garlic was indeed strong.
Jian Yunong had eaten enough and was in no mood to argue, closing her eyes and starting to sleep.
Huo Jincheng felt like a driver and an ATM at the same time.
"Wait!" As the car passed a small stall, Jian Yunong, who had clearly been sleeping, suddenly spoke up, "I think I saw my aunt."
Huo Jincheng couldn't stand her jumping at every little thing. "Your whole family has quite a taste; they all like this kind of stuff."
Jian Yunong didn't have time to argue with him because she saw her aunt with a man!
"I think my aunt is drunk. You need to stop the car."
"Stop what? You can't park here!"
Huo Jincheng was impatient. When Jian Yunong pushed the door to get out, he was so startled that he immediately stopped the car and pulled her back.
"Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
What if another car comes from behind!
"But my aunt is with the man she hates the most! And she's drunk! Ahhh! That man took her away in a car! Hurry up and follow them!"
Huo Jincheng's eyelids twitched, and Jian Yunong softened her voice to plead, "Please! I'm begging you!"
"Call me," Huo Jincheng said expressionlessly.
"Huo San Shao."
Huo Jincheng immediately extinguished his anger and pulled the car over to the side of the road.
"Husband!"
Jian Yunong cried out pitifully, "If we don't catch up, my aunt will be taken away by a bad guy!"
Huo Jincheng thought to himself, how could someone as clever as your aunt possibly be at a disadvantage?
But he figured that if he said that, this silly girl would definitely get angry with him.
