The sound of water splashing faintly echoed in the bathroom. 0

Jian Yunong turned over, her mind filled with the scent of Huo Jincheng's cologne, which made her feel increasingly nauseous. 0

She was disgusted by the smell of that cologne and by those red lips, as they had once belonged to Yi Nansheng. 0

Even after a long time had passed, Jian Yunong could not control her body's reaction. The feeling of nausea surged up, and she got out of bed barefoot. The cold floor made her skin shiver, but she didn't care; she pushed open the bathroom door and rushed in, clutching the toilet to vomit. 0

The sound of her vomiting startled the person behind the shower curtain. 0

Jian Yunong was oblivious; she was so lost in her own world that she didn't even notice when the sound of water stopped. 0

Feeling dizzy, she leaned against the floor, trying to stand up. Her palms were sweaty and too slippery, causing her to fall back down. If it weren't for a force from behind that caught her, Jian Yunong would have hit her knees. 0

"What happened?" 0

Huo Jincheng directly picked her up horizontally. 0

He was only wrapped in a towel. 0

Huo Jinge was standing by the bed. Seeing Huo Jincheng carrying Jian Yunong out, looking like he had just taken a shower while Jian Yunong appeared weak and powerless, Huo Jinge couldn't help but show a look of disbelief. 0

"Third Brother, Sister-in-law isn't feeling well. Do you really need to...?" 0

"Get out!" 0

Huo Jincheng was not in the mood to bicker with Huo Jinge. 0

"Can't you see your sister-in-law is unwell?" 0

Huo Jinge, inexplicably yelled at, pouted. Third Brother could be quite fierce when he was angry. He cast a sympathetic glance at Jian Yunong on the bed, "I know you're not feeling well, so here’s a box of macarons. If you're feeling bitter, eat something sweet." 0

Huo Jincheng: "..." 0

Jian Yunong managed a weak smile and replied, "Thank you." 0

Huo Jinge made a face at Huo Jincheng and quickly ran away. 0

"What happened? Why did you throw up?" Huo Jincheng raised his hand to press against Jian Yunong's forehead; her temperature had already come down. 0

Jian Yunong closed her eyes and coldly lifted her lips, "Don't touch me." 0

Huo Jincheng froze for a moment, "Say that again?" 0

Jian Yunong pulled up the blanket, trying to bury herself under it. She didn't want to be touched by anyone, especially not by this man. Even though he had just showered, there was only a faint scent of body wash on him. 0

"Are you angry? Hmm?" 0

Huo Jincheng insisted on lying under the blanket, digging her out from underneath. 0

Jian Yunong turned over, facing away from him, "Huo Jincheng, please don't touch me. I'm begging you, just don't touch me..." 0

Huo Jincheng was puzzled; he was only holding her and had not done anything excessive. 0

"You should know when to stop throwing a tantrum. Aren't you the one who made yourself uncomfortable?" Huo Jincheng's thin lips pressed into a straight line. How could what happened last night after drinking Ginger Soup lead to this? 0

He propped himself up to look at her. Jian Yunong's pale face had no color, making her look particularly pitiful. Huo Jincheng couldn't help but soften his tone, "It's my fault for not being there with you. Be good. I will stay with you." 0

Giving one slap and then a date, Jian Yunong was not someone who would fall for this. 0

"Don't touch me!" 0

Jian Yunong covered her mouth, and an uncontrollable reaction surged through her body. She suddenly pushed Huo Jincheng away and dashed into the bathroom. 0

The sound of vomiting came through the thin door. 0

Huo Jincheng pushed the door open. Jian Yunong was kneeling by the toilet, her back forming a sharp curve that could be vaguely discerned through the back of her bathrobe. 0

Jian Yunong had already vomited everything she could, tears streaming down her face. 0

As Huo Jincheng approached, Jian Yunong couldn't help but scream, "Don't come any closer! I'm begging you! Don't touch me! Please!" 0

She had never lost control like this before, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. 0

She was clawing and scratching, but inside she was particularly anxious. 0

Tears hung on the verge of falling. 0

Jian Yunong propped herself up, standing by the pool, slowly washing her face with cold water. 0

Huo Jincheng stood outside the door, quietly watching every move of Jian Yunong. It was clear she was struggling and in pain, yet she remained remarkably calm. 0

It was as if she was deliberately suppressing some kind of suffering. 0

"We need to get a doctor to take a look." 0

Huo Jincheng spoke up. 0

"No need. I know my own body." Jian Yunong rejected him without a second thought, her tone extremely harsh. It was a side of her that Huo Jincheng had never seen before. 0

Jian Yunong returned to the dressing room, and when she came out again, she had changed into new clothes. 0

"Where are you going? Jian Yunong, you look like a ghost right now. Where do you think you're going?" 0

He tried to come closer to stop her, but Jian Yunong was pulling on the doorknob. 0

"I just want to go for a walk. Don't worry about me. I didn't ask where you went last night, so don't interfere with me now." 0

Without even glancing at him, Jian Yunong made Huo Jincheng feel as if he had become very dirty in her eyes. 0

"If you keep holding me back, I'll call for someone. Even though Grandpa is old, his hearing is still quite sharp." 0

Huo Jincheng released his grip. 0

"I let Mist Shenshen accompany you." 0

Jian Yunong sneered, "She was sent out on a business trip by you. Have you forgotten?" 0

Huo Jincheng picked up his phone but then put it down again. 0

Jian Yunong pushed the door open and stepped out, walking slowly but steadily. 0

Huo Jincheng watched Jian Yunong walk out the door and slowly down the ancient street in front of the old house. 0

He immediately changed his clothes and followed her out. 0

Grandma happened to see him leaving and called out, "Little brat, what are you going out for again? Your wife is unwell! Don't you know? Is she feeling restless?" 0

Huo Jincheng forced a smile, "Grandma, Jian Yunong wants me to accompany her for a walk." 0

"You young people!" 0

Huo Jincheng didn't hear the rest of her words as he quickly ran out; although Jian Yunong was not walking fast, she had already disappeared from sight. 0

Huo Jincheng had no choice but to go back and drive, searching along the main street. 0

Not long after Jian Yunong left, she hailed a taxi. The driver asked her where she wanted to go, and after a moment of hesitation, she replied, "Anywhere." 0

Anywhere would do. 0

The driver noticed her pale expression and took her to the city center. 0

"Little girl, there are some new movies out recently that are quite good. Would you like to go see one?" 0

"Mm." 0

As the car window rolled down, Jian Yunong felt much more comfortable. 0

She took out her phone, and the screen displayed Sanwa's name. 0

Huo Jincheng had been trying to reach her, and his calls had flooded in. 0

But Jian Yunong just wanted to be alone for a while. 0

She really needed some peace and quiet. 0

Her issue wasn't physical; it was psychological. 0

Jian Yunong arrived at the largest cinema in the city center. 0

She stood in front of the scrolling display, looking at the movie information one by one when someone called out from behind, "Miss Jian." 0

Jian Yunong turned around and saw a stranger's face. 0

A young girl with delicate makeup. Jian Yunong furrowed her brows, looking at her with a puzzled expression, unable to recall who this person was. 0

"I am a friend of Mr. Huo. We met at a cocktail party. Do you remember?" Chu Ai said with a reserved smile, waiting to see Jian Yunong's reaction. 0

However, she was disappointed; Jian Yunong showed no expression at all. 0

Jian Yunong didn't even recognize her. 0

"I don't know you." 0

How is that possible? Chu Ai had been in the newspaper with Huo Jincheng and had made headlines; she couldn't believe Jian Yunong didn't know her. She thought perhaps Jian Yunong was trying to embarrass her by avoiding her. 0

"I thought Miss Jian would recognize me," Chu Ai smiled. 0

She stood there, exuding good grace, with a beautiful figure that caught the attention of every man passing by. Even women cast envious and jealous glances her way. 0

Jian Yunong found this person in front of her inexplicable, with an air of superiority that seemed to come from nowhere, subtly intimidating. 0

"I'm a bit face-blind; only someone as beautiful as Bai Ru would leave a deep impression on me," Jian Yunong replied with a faint smile. 0

Chu Ai: "..." 0

Being called average-looking, Chu Ai didn't expect Jian Yunong, who appeared harmless, to speak so sharply. 0

Chu Ai held back for a long time without responding. 0

Jian Yunong walked up to the counter and bought a movie ticket. 0

“Miss Jian, are you watching a movie alone? Why don’t you let Mr. Huo accompany you? Did you have a fight?” Chu Ai asked Jian Yunong, noticing her bad mood and insisting on asking so many questions. 0

Jian Yunong was not polite either, “I like watching movies alone, probably because I’m afraid someone will keep chattering in my ear. Also, I don’t know you at all; I don’t even know your name, so don’t waste my time.” 0

Chu Ai exclaimed, “My name is Chu Ai.” 0

She pointed to the movie poster next to Jian Yunong. “That’s the one.” 0

Chu Ai was a supporting actress in it. 0

Jian Yunong responded with an indifferent “oh,” and directly walked past her into the elevator. 0

With some time left before the movie started, Jian Yunong wanted to shake her off and go to the dessert shop on the first floor to buy something to eat. 0

Unexpectedly, Chu Ai followed her and sat down across from Jian Yunong. 0

“Since you’re alone, you shouldn’t mind having me around, right?” 0

Jian Yunong glanced at her. With such thick skin, even if she said she minded, this person probably wouldn’t leave. 0

Ignoring her, Jian Yunong casually picked up a nearby entertainment magazine. Coincidentally, she flipped to the page featuring Huo Jincheng. 0

Finally, Jian Yunong understood why Chu Ai was so persistent with her. 0

Wasn’t this the new love of Mr. Huo that they had discussed in the office that day? 0

"Miss Jian, don't believe any of this. It's all just the reporters writing nonsense to attract attention," Chu Ai explained to her, his eyes flickering. 0

"Jian Yunong." 0

A familiar voice rang out. 0

Her cousin Jian Dan, whom she hadn't seen in a long time, walked over to their table. 0

"Tsk tsk... When are you getting divorced? Huo Jincheng must have lost interest in you by now, considering how boring you are. How can you compare to those in the entertainment industry? One Bai Ru leaves, and there are plenty of other young stars. Just wait to be kicked out." 0

Every time Jian Dan appeared, she had that same condescending attitude. 0

Jian Yunong smiled faintly, "Better than some people who don't even have a chance to get in the door." 0

Both Chu Ai and Jian Dan felt insulted. 0

"At this point, you still think you're Mrs. Huo? You should take a good look at yourself! Following Mist Shenshen, you're all just unwanted trash..." 0

Jian Dan's words were abruptly cut off as she was splashed with lemon water by Jian Yunong. 0

"Try saying another word about my aunt. Do you want me to show your fiancé what you've been doing at the hotel? Do you really think that after making enough money here, you can go back and find an honest man to marry?" 0
