Jian Yunong returned home, washed up, and went to bed early to rest.
In her dreams, she felt something heavy pressing down on her. Jian Yunong struggled awake to find Huo Jincheng on top of her, reeking of alcohol, kissing her neck.
Hot kisses fell one after another, leaving marks on her skin.
Jian Yunong found it hard to breathe; the drunk man was as heavy as a stone, making it difficult for her to turn over.
“Huo Jincheng... get off me…”
Jian Yunong was about to cry. How much had he drunk? Had he come back in a drunken frenzy?
“Nong Nong…”
Huo Jincheng called her name softly, lingering as he held her chin and kissed her again.
The overwhelming scent of alcohol mixed with a faint hint of tobacco stole her breath away.
Jian Yunong felt her lips being sucked painfully, with no way to escape or retreat.
Unable to hold back, Jian Yunong cried.
Her tears flowed into Huo Jincheng's mouth, the bitter taste replacing the sweet fragrance he liked. In his intoxicated state, Huo Jincheng sat up, seeming a bit more sober.
He lifted Jian Yunong, holding her on his lap, his fingers tracing the warm moisture on her face.
“Why are you crying?”
Huo Jincheng let out a soft sigh.
"You are so heavy," Jian Yunong cried, dragging out her words. "You’re making it hard for me to breathe. And you bit me. You’ve been drinking too, it smells terrible! It stinks! You reek of smoke and alcohol."
The little one in his arms sniffled and cried, sounding like a wronged child.
"Is that all?" Huo Jincheng chuckled helplessly; his silly wife was really delicate.
"I hate you."
"It’s okay, I like you," Huo Jincheng's voice was filled with affection.
Jian Yunong didn’t respond, covering her eyes with both hands, making it hard to tell her emotions.
Huo Jincheng picked Jian Yunong up. He swayed a bit, causing Jian Yunong to scream in fright, worried he might drop her.
"What are you doing? Let me go! I want to keep sleeping! I have to work tomorrow!"
"Work? What work?" Huo Jincheng carried Jian Yunong toward the bathroom. "You don’t need to work."
Taking advantage of the moment, Jian Yunong clung to the door frame and refused to let go. "I want to work. I’m still young; I can’t be useless."
She wouldn’t let go, so Huo Jincheng had no choice but to coax her. "Alright, alright, you can work. But first, come wash up with me, okay?"
"If you want to take a shower, you can do it yourself; I’ve already washed."
"You help me wash," Huo Jincheng insisted playfully.
A drunk person is boldly acting like a rogue!
"I won't give you a bath. Your hands and feet are perfectly fine. I'm not your maid!"
"You are my Daughter-in-law."
"I'm not."
Jian Yunong could hardly imagine that scene.
Who knows what else the drunk Huo Jincheng might do?
"Then I won't wash. I'll just hold you to sleep tonight."
"Don't..."
Jian Yunong really couldn't stand the smell of alcohol on Huo Jincheng.
If he held her while sleeping, she wouldn't be able to sleep at all.
Reluctantly, Jian Yunong compromised, "Then you have to promise me one request."
"Don't say one; I'll agree to ten."
Jian Yunong let go, and Huo Jincheng grinned as he placed her in the bathtub, warm water pouring over her from head to toe.
Who is really taking a bath?
Jian Yunong wiped the water off her face and shouted angrily, "Huo Jincheng!"
"Okay. Don't worry. I'll be right there."
He started taking off his clothes while standing by the bathtub.
Jian Yunong: "..."
She wanted to run, but it was already too late.
Huo Jincheng pulled her in to take a bath together.
After more than an hour of commotion, they finally finished bathing.
In the end, Jian Yunong was still carried back to bed by Huo Jincheng.
Who was really giving whom a bath?
She couldn't quite tell.
Fortunately, Huo Jincheng had been drinking, and under the influence of alcohol, he couldn't recognize her stiff state. She was pressed against the cold wall, as if caught between ice and fire.
The next day, Jian Yunong was awakened by the alarm clock.
She was really sleepy, but thinking about how she couldn't be late again today forced her to crawl out of bed.
Huo Jincheng happened to come out of the closet and saw Jian Yunong walking in with her eyes closed. He quickly caught her just before she was about to bump into a chair.
"Why don't you sleep a little longer?" Huo Jincheng couldn't help but kiss her forehead.
His silly wife was becoming more and more adorable.
Jian Yunong huffed in displeasure, "I have to go to work."
"What work?"
Hmm... why does this conversation sound a bit familiar?
Jian Yunong forced her sleepy eyes open and grabbed Huo Jincheng's collar. After staying up so late last night, he looked refreshed, dressed impeccably. But her legs were still sore.
Jian Yunong glared at him with what she thought was a fierce expression. "You promised me last night that I could go to work!"
Huo Jincheng took the opportunity to pull Jian Yunong closer, interpreting her actions as an invitation for a hug. Even though he was about to be late for work, he still wanted to kiss her.
Huo Jincheng acted on his desire, capturing her lips and lingering on her full, rosy mouth.
Jian Yunong leaned back, covering her lips. "I haven't brushed my teeth yet!"
Huo Jincheng raised an eyebrow and released her. Jian Yunong immediately escaped, fearing he might get too carried away again.
After Jian Yunong finished washing up and changing clothes, she hurried downstairs, practically running down the steps.
Just as she rushed to the entrance, she was suddenly embraced by Huo Jincheng who had appeared out of nowhere.
He hadn't left!
Jian Yunong was startled and couldn't help but raise her small hand to tap him, "You scared me! Why are you so mean? You keep scaring me!"
Huo Jincheng wore a mischievous smile as he picked Jian Yunong up and kissed her from below, sealing all her pouts.
When Jian Yunong was set down, her face was flushed with anger. "I'm going to be late! Huo Jincheng! You're really boring, skipping work just to kiss me?"
Huo Jincheng feigned innocence, "You said you haven't brushed your teeth yet, so I waited for you to get ready to finish this."
Jian Yunong huffed in frustration, "I! Am! Going! To! Be! Late!"
Huo Jincheng raised an eyebrow slightly, "What job is more important than me?"
Jian Yunong sniffed hard, "Huo Jincheng, are you still drunk?"
Huo Jincheng's expression darkened slightly, "I'm sober."
He set her down on the ground and leaned in close to whisper in her ear that he had been awake since last night when he carried her to bed.
Jian Yunong: "..."
Seeing her ears turn red, Huo Jincheng stopped teasing her. "Let's go have breakfast."
"But... I'll get my wages deducted."
"Who dares to deduct your wages?"
"..."
"Is the President amazing?"
"The President is indeed amazing; what he says goes."
Two people leisurely went to a Hong Kong-style tea restaurant for breakfast.
In front of the delicious food, Jian Yunong instantly forgot about work and enjoyed her meal immensely.
"Is it good?"
"Yes, it's good."
Jian Yunong smiled at him with a pure and clean smile that was very infectious.
Huo Jincheng poured her a cup of ginger milk, "This restaurant is quite an old establishment. The first time I came here was when my grandfather brought me."
Jian Yunong took a bite of the custard bun, and the sweet flavor spread across her tongue. "Your grandfather really knows how to choose."
The taste here was indeed the best Jian Yunong had ever had.
Jian Yunong was very satisfied with the food. "Next time, I want to bring my aunt here. I want her to try the delicious food too."
Huo Jincheng's smile deepened; sharing good food is a joyful thing, especially when the person accompanying you enjoys what you like.
Huo Jincheng never experienced this kind of enjoyment when he was with Bai Ru.
She was someone who was very picky about food.
Huo Jincheng suddenly saw a figure flash in his mind.
Bai Ru was actually sitting at a table in the corner diagonally across from him.
A person had ordered a table full of snacks and was leisurely eating.
Bai Ru seemed to have gained a little weight compared to before; her back looked much rounder. She was currently picking up a Black Bean Sauce Chicken Foot.
Huo Jincheng couldn't help but frown. This was something Bai Ru would never have eaten before.
She thought it was dirty!
Who knew how many filthy things those creatures had walked on?
Now, she was leisurely gnawing on a chicken foot, looking quite content and enjoying herself.
Huo Jincheng withdrew his gaze and looked at Jian Yunong, who had already finished eating and was wiping her hands.
"Are you full?" Huo Jincheng gestured for Jian Yunong to come over. She foolishly asked, "Is there something on my face?"
Huo Jincheng took a tissue and lightly dabbed it on her lips. "You always forget to wipe your mouth. I don't want to kiss greasy lips later."
"Who wants you to kiss me!" Jian Yunong's eyelashes fluttered as she snatched the tissue away and stood up to leave first.
Huo Jincheng lagged a few steps behind and couldn't help but glance at Bai Ru's table again as he passed by.
It was indeed Bai Ru.
But Huo Jincheng only took another glance, confirming that he had not seen it wrong.
People can change. Huo Jincheng thought, but he was not the one who could make Bai Ru change.
Huo Jincheng quickened his pace, chasing after Jian Yunong.
Jian Yunong was angry, but her steps had unconsciously slowed down.
Huo Jincheng took her hand, and Jian Yunong did not pull away.
Because Huo Jincheng said, "Next time I'll take you to eat something even better."
For a foodie, there is no sweeter confession than this.
Jian Yunong nodded vigorously in satisfaction and leaned in to kiss his chin.
Huo Jincheng was slightly taken aback.
Jian Yunong smiled sweetly at him, "Honey, you are so good."
She liked this kind of life and liked this kind of Huo Jincheng.
Huo Jincheng pulled her into his arms and kissed her deeply.
Jian Yunong closed her eyes, raised her hands to embrace him in his breath, and slowly responded to his passion.
The past must remain in the past because the other person is Huo Jincheng. Suddenly, Jian Yunong found the courage to overcome her inner demons.
A slight flutter of the heart ignites a kiss that is intoxicating like the spring breeze.
Under the sunlight, the handsome man and beautiful woman entwined in a kiss attract countless gazes.
A gust of wind blows by, seemingly carrying the sweet scent of love.
So sweet!
Passersby smile as they walk away.
Bai Ru stands on the steps, her gaze cold as she watches the passionate kiss between the couple in the sunlight.
It is incredibly blinding.
Huo Jincheng's expression of indulgence and tenderness is even more dazzling than the sun.
Bai Ru takes out her phone, her face darkened, but her voice is coy and sweet, "Darling... I miss you... I know this is a critical time, but can you bear to let me, carrying our baby, be alone outside?"
