The sound of wheels echoed in the courtyard as the Servant reported that the Young Master and Young Mistress had returned.
Huo Liangchen came back with Bai Ru. Grandma Huo muttered a few words, "Why didn't you say so earlier? I thought they wouldn't come."
Although she seemed a bit displeased, she still instructed the kitchen to serve Bai Ru her portion of Bird's Nest.
Bai Ru was now pregnant and needed proper nourishment.

The restaurant fell silent for a full half minute.
Huo Jincheng's voice broke the silence to prevent it from lingering any longer, fearing that Grandma Huo would lose her appetite.
Huo Jincheng glanced at Bai Ru, "Pack this up and take it back for Nong Nong."
Bai Ru was picky and temperamental; she probably felt that it wasn't prepared for her, so she rejected it.
Aside from diamonds, the hardest thing in this world was likely Bai Ru's pride.
When pursuing Bai Ru, Huo Jincheng didn't think there was anything special about her.
But as time passed and he looked at Bai Ru again, Huo Jincheng felt that his mother's disdain for Bai Ru, believing she was unworthy of the title "socialite," was not without reason.
Grandma Huo smiled again, "Is Nong Nong coming back from her business trip today? Make sure Sister Zhang packs more food for her; we can't let Nong Nong lose weight."

Bai Ru sneered, "Don't worry, the child won't starve."
A sharp and bitter atmosphere filled the air.
What kind of talk is this about dying?
How could such words be spoken at the dining table?
Even someone as clueless as Huo Jincheng knew the etiquette at the dining table; at the very least, he wouldn't bring up such ominous words in front of the elders.
"Bai Ru," Huo Liangchen simply called her name as a warning.
This was not really a reprimand; if it were Huo Jincheng, he would probably have a stern face and give her a proper lecture.
But Bai Ru turned hostile, "Fine, I won't bother you anymore. I know none of you from the Huo Family like me. I won't be in your way any longer."
Grandma Huo was about to persuade her to stay when she was interrupted by Huo Jincheng.
"Someone, see her out."
Huo Jincheng raised his voice, "Elder brother, Sister-in-law, no need to see her off."
This was essentially an indirect eviction order.
Bai Ru glared angrily at Huo Jincheng.
But Huo Jincheng showed no reaction; he picked up his chopsticks and only served food to his grandmother. "Eat more. Sister Zhang's cooking has gotten better and better."
Huo Liangchen held Bai Ru's hand, his expression slightly darkened. "Grandma, we'll come to see you another day."
The two of them hadn't even warmed their seats before leaving.
Grandma Huo couldn't help but sigh, "There's no need for this."
"Grandma, no matter how my elder brother is, he must show you respect. Bai Ru's attitude towards you is not determined by him."
Grandma Huo sighed softly, "Your elder brother has been without a mother since he was young..."

"Are you a doctor?" Huo's mother pressed on relentlessly, giving Huo Jincheng no room to maneuver. "What can you do by staying here? If she's sick, then she should go to the hospital for treatment! Does our Huo family not have money?"
Huo Jincheng frowned. "Mom."
Huo's mother firmly rejected him. "Don't say any more."
