New Chapter
"Who dares?"
Huo Jincheng raised an eyebrow, "With me here, no one would dare to say anything about you."
Jian Yunong's expression was serious, "But I think the term 'beautiful disaster' sounds nice. Throughout history, every woman labeled as a beautiful disaster has been a stunning beauty."
Huo Jincheng: "..."
He thought his little wife was afraid of being criticized.
How could he forget that her way of thinking was different from ordinary people?
Huo Jincheng kissed her, "I haven't taken you on a honeymoon since we got married. Is it too late to make up for it now?"
A soft light flickered in Huo Jincheng's eyes, and Jian Yunong almost wanted to lose herself in that light, not wanting to return to the real world.
"It's not late at all. How could it be late?" Jian Yunong nuzzled against his chest, "I'm very happy. As long as I'm with you, it doesn't matter where we go; whether we have a honeymoon trip or not doesn't matter."
Huo Jincheng ruffled her hair, "I know you need good food."
Jian Yunong bit him gently on the neck, leaving a faint mark, "This is a reward for you."
Huo Jincheng caught her, "Then I want to give you a reward too."
Jian Yunong was pressed down onto the bench by him, and the two shared a long, quiet kiss.
Huo Jincheng arranged for a doctor for Jian Yunong, who would provide psychological counseling after dinner.
Jian Yunong's previously bright expression turned dim as she looked down at her fingers.
Huo Jincheng sat beside Jian Yunong. "Nong Nong, I mean no harm. I just hope the hospital situation hasn't left you with any..."
Jian Yunong blinked her fluffy big eyes. She had no expression on her face, but her hands were twisted together, betraying her complex emotions.
Huo Jincheng gently urged Jian Yunong, "Nong Nong, I promise this doctor is different from those in the hospital. Those people in the hospital don't even deserve to be called doctors."
Jian Yunong stood up abruptly. "I really don't want to see a doctor. Can't you just let me be alone for a while? We finally got to hang out together, why do you have to bring a third person into our space?"
Huo Jincheng stared at Jian Yunong's nervous demeanor. He knew she must have misunderstood; he was clearly asking for her opinion. Why was she reacting so strongly?
"Nong Nong, this person isn't here to disturb us; she's here to help you."
Huo Jincheng stood up as well, wanting to embrace Jian Yunong to calm her down.
But Jian Yunong stepped back. "I don't want a doctor's help."
No one could help her!
The only person who could help her was herself.
Jian Yunong had not fully emerged from the nightmare of her experiences in the hospital.
"Listen," Huo Jincheng's expression turned serious. His deep-set eyes were no longer gentle like before; he looked at her as if she were a disobedient child. "You need the help of a professional doctor."
"I don't!" Jian Yunong just wanted to continue living like this; she never wanted to see a doctor again. She was truly afraid.
She even wanted to say, you have no idea what I've been through in the hospital, so don’t try to bring a doctor to help me now!
"Do you know why you haven't gotten better all these years? It's because of this attitude of yours. If you're sick, you need treatment; if you need medication, take it; do what needs to be done." Huo Jincheng's tone involuntarily became serious.
He didn't even realize how serious he had become; his entire aura shifted, like a sword being drawn from its sheath—sharp and cold, pressing down on people and making it hard for them to breathe.
Jian Yunong felt that the person standing in front of her suddenly became very unfamiliar; it was her feared leader, her intimidating teacher, and her respected elder.
Jian Yunong furrowed her brows, and her tone turned cold. "You brought me out of Nancheng just to find a place where no one knows me to treat me without losing face for your Huo Family, right?"
As soon as Jian Yunong finished speaking, Huo Jincheng's expression darkened. "How could you think that of me?"
Jian Yunong raised her voice. "Then don't do things that make me misunderstand! Can't you respect my wishes?"
For so many days, Jian Yunong had been in a gentle state, and Huo Jincheng almost forgot that Jian Yunong was essentially a wounded little animal, always ready to show her claws and raise her defenses.
"Have I not respected you? Wasn't I asking for your opinion?"
Huo Jincheng lowered his voice helplessly, suppressing his impatience to communicate with her properly.
However, it was better not to mention this; when it came to the word 'respect,' Jian Yunong reacted even more strongly, like a cat whose tail had been accidentally stepped on.
"Are you really asking for my opinion? Asking for my opinion means discussing things that have already been arranged with me and letting me participate. If I don't go, it's disrespecting you; if I'm angry, it's because I don't understand, right?"
Huo Jincheng pressed his lips together, not expecting her to think of him this way.
The way women think is indeed a very interesting thing.
Jian Yunong turned her face away. "It seems that our interpretations of the word 'respect' are quite different."
Something warm quickly fell down; Jian Yunong raised her hand to wipe away the tears and sniffled. "I know your time is precious. Actually, you don't need to fly this far to accompany me for treatment."
"Jian Yunong!" Huo Jincheng couldn't help but interrupt her. "Can you please stop like this?"
Jian Yunong looked at him with red eyes. "What am I doing? Do you think I'm not being obedient at all? Do you think I'm not particularly easy to coax or listen well? I'm sorry; I accidentally revealed my true self and can't continue to play along with your act, nor can I let you stay immersed in your self-satisfaction."
Sometimes, arguing can communicate feelings between people but can also hurt those feelings.
During arguments, people often become very emotional, and those harsh, cutting words feel like knives striking at each other.
Huo Jincheng was also angry, unable to believe it, and shocked. "Self-absorbed? After everything I've done, it's just to move myself? Am I that selfish in your eyes? Jian Yunong, you are simply an ungrateful wolf."
Still that kind of ungrateful wolf that could never be satisfied.
Jian Yunong remained silent, tightly closing her lips. She glanced out the window; their residence was by the water.
Below was a river, its emerald waters flowing gracefully like a ribbon stretching through the city.
A sense of powerlessness and despair surged in her heart.
Huo Jincheng gritted his teeth. "No matter what, the doctor must see you."
With that, Huo Jincheng slammed the door and left.
He told himself not to be angry with this willful girl; she hadn't fully grown up yet.
The sound of the door closing startled Jian Yunong, causing her to tremble slightly.
She turned back to glance at the tightly shut door, and a door that had just opened in her heart also closed tightly again.
