Jian Yunong smiled, "I never consider myself as a dish, unlike you, who refuses to treat yourself well and insists on making desserts for others. If you don't see yourself as a person, why blame others for looking down on you? This surname is only related to my father. It has nothing to do with you or any of the Jian Family. Stop bothering me."
Jian Dan was furious, his voice trembling with anger, "People like you deserve to go to hell! How can you face your deceased father?"
Jian Yunong, however, laughed happily, "Whether I go to hell after I die is not up to you. Even if I do, that's a matter for after death. You should stop worrying about me; the entire Jian Family is probably no different from hell right now. You should think more about your own future."
After hanging up the phone, Jian Yunong's mobile rang again.
This time it was finally not someone from the Jian Family bothering her, but Aunt Wu Shenshen.
"Do you know about the Jian Family going bankrupt?"
"I know. I'm planning to open a bottle of red wine tonight and celebrate a little."
Mist Shenshen immediately felt relieved, her tone becoming lighter, "If I weren't pregnant, I would want to have a drink to celebrate too."
"Auntie, you're pregnant."
Jian Yunong thought about how careless her mother could be.
Later, when Jian Yunong herself became pregnant, she realized she had no right to call her aunt careless because she was even more confused and didn't even notice her own pregnancy.
After a moment of silence, Mist Shenshen spoke up, "Jian Yunong, did you know in advance that Huo Jincheng was responsible for the Jian Family's bankruptcy?"
Jian Yunong honestly replied, "I didn't know."
Mist Shenshen fell silent again.
"Aunt, I don't care at all whether the Jian Family goes bankrupt or not."
She also doesn't care if Huo Jincheng is taking revenge on the Jian Family.
As long as this outcome makes her happy.
"Alright, I'll just pretend that Huo Jincheng is avenging you."
Jian Yunong chuckled softly again.
In the afternoon, Jian Yunong ran back from outside and found two Asian men standing at the entrance of the hotel.
Her path was blocked by them.
"Chairman Huo has asked us to bring you back to the country."
Huo Jincheng's mother could no longer hold back.
The sweat and heat on Jian Yunong's body suddenly felt cold; she slowly wiped her hair, her movements deliberate as if she were contemplating. However, everyone knew she had no room for thought.
"Is there something you need from me?"
Jian Yunong gripped her towel, trying hard to maintain her composure.
"You'll find out when you return to Nancheng."
The bodyguard continued expressionlessly, "Your things have been packed. We will leave now; the flight is in one hour."
This was not a discussion with her but a notification.
Jian Yunong did not say anything further.
Before bending down to enter the car, she glanced in the direction of Prague Square.
The Jan Hus Statue stood in the center of Golden Square, its self-timer ringing under the blue sky.
She had not lived here for long, yet she still felt a sense of attachment.
The name Prague comes from German; locally it is called Praha, meaning "threshold," because the Vltava River flows over a reef here, with turbulent waters resembling crossing a threshold.
Now, it seemed it was also time for her to cross the threshold of her life.
...
Upon returning to the country, Jian Yunong was taken directly back to the Huo Family.
The servants looked at her with strange expressions upon her return.
Jian Yunong did not dwell on the meaning behind those gazes as she walked through the long corridor. The house was quiet, and she did not encounter any members of the Huo Family along the way.
In Mrs. Huo's study, Jian Yunong saw her long-lost grandmother.
The strong middle-aged woman showed no signs of aging, as always. Jian Yunong thought of her mother, the woman who struggled to support the entire business, who quickly withered and aged under the weight of responsibility, eventually dying in a hospital.
The doctor said that a significant reason for Jian Yunong's mother's cancer was the pressure of life.
But looking at Huo Jincheng's mother, who managed such a large group with tens of thousands of employees, she seemed to be living so well.
The differences between people are sometimes beyond what hard work can compensate for.
"You've been abroad for so long without fulfilling your duties as a wife," Huo's mother expressed her dissatisfaction. "I am very pleased with my son. In business, he shows no mercy. Your family has gone bankrupt; there is absolutely no chance of a comeback."
Jian Yunong looked at her questioningly, and then what?
"This time, it was his decision."
Huo's mother frowned. "After reaching this point in your marriage, if you still have any self-respect, you should divorce him."
Jian Yunong blinked and slightly pursed her lips. She smiled and softly uttered one word, "Okay."
Huo's mother stared at Jian Yunong, clearly surprised that she agreed so easily.
"But..." Jian Yunong spoke softly.
Huo's mother sneered, her expression saying she knew there would be conditions. Her gaze towards Jian Yunong was filled with disdain and contempt.
"I want Huo Jincheng to come and speak to me personally," Jian Yunong interjected before Huo's mother could respond. "If he wants to end this marriage, then let him come to me for the divorce. If you think I am unworthy of him, there must be your reasons. Having responsibility is the most basic quality of a man. He wouldn't expect you to handle this for him, would he? The Jian family is bankrupt; have I not struggled? Are you afraid I might do something detrimental to him? Is he that timid? A mama's boy? Has he been weaned yet?"
Huo's mother's face turned extremely dark. "Shut up."
Jian Yunong smiled at her. "For someone like you who possesses supreme power, time is certainly precious. Actually, you don't need to say so much; as long as Huo Jincheng is willing to divorce, I will sign the papers without hesitation."
After a pause, Jian Yunong reminded her, "After all, we were once a couple. Don't forget that I have a marriage contract with Huo Jincheng. People inevitably face ups and downs in life. As a mother, you must hope that your son will never encounter any accidents in his life, right? Let's part on good terms. If Huo Jincheng ever needs a blood transfusion or something, I might still be willing to help out. If I end up living too miserably and develop some bad habits due to my poor mood, then this walking blood bag of mine won't be of any use."
Huo's mother looked at Jian Yunong with a particularly meaningful gaze. "Are you threatening me?"
"Threatening you? My God." Jian Yunong spoke in a heavy accent. "How could you think that? I just want to resolve this matter in the simplest way possible."
Huo's mother began to contemplate and then called her assistant to notify Huo Jincheng to come over.
Knock, knock, knock—there was a sound at the door.
Jian Yunong's heart suddenly raced.
Huo Jincheng's footsteps approached; he walked over to her side. "Chairman Huo, what do you need from me?"
Huo's mother nodded towards Jian Yunong. "She wants to divorce you."
Huo Jincheng sat down next to Jian Yunong and raised an eyebrow. "You want to divorce me?"
