In the past, Le Yi was in the airport office, looking very gloomy.
Seeing her come alone, Jiang Secretary couldn't help but ask, "Where is Mr. Huo?"
This lady only felt subdued by Mr. Huo and Chairman Huo.
Jian Yunong looked through the small window on the door and saw Le Yi inside, shaking her head slightly. "I couldn't find him and couldn't get in touch with him, but I've sent him a message. I'm sure he'll come once he sees it."
Jian Yunong thought the situation was urgent and almost ran over, slightly out of breath while speaking.
Jiang Secretary apologized, "Sorry to trouble you, Mrs. Huo."
"What’s going on?" Jian Yunong didn’t feel troubled at all; with Huo Jincheng absent, she was actually eager for this matter to come to her.
She couldn't find her old classmate Wangcai and didn't want to bother her aunt, and Uncle-in-law... Jian Yunong wasn’t being conspiratorial but had a gut feeling that Ji Shaoli wasn't telling the truth.
"Miss Le insisted on taking her passport to go abroad today but was stopped by airport security personnel. She caused a scene at the airport and injured a staff member. That staff member insists on an apology. Miss Le refuses to apologize, believing it’s the airport's fault and wants an apology from them instead. Miss Le also refuses to leave; this matter can't be resolved quickly."
Jiang Secretary described the entire process very tactfully.
"What about the injured employee? Hospital checks, injury assessment, economic compensation—none of these can be overlooked."
"Yes, the group's Public Relations Department is currently handling this matter."
The previous remarks were just a prelude from Jian Yunong; the people in the group's Public Relations Department were certainly more familiar with crisis management processes than she was.
What Jian Yunong really wanted to ask after all that was, "Why was Le Yi stopped? Where was she trying to go?"
Jiang Secretary replied softly, "This is Mr. Huo's intention."
"What do you mean? Huo Jincheng doesn't allow his sister to go abroad?"
"Yes," Jiang Secretary nodded. "Mr. Huo has already made arrangements with major airlines. If Miss Le wants to take a state-owned flight abroad, it's almost impossible."
"Why?" Doesn't this imply some form of imprisonment?
Why restrict Le Yi's freedom in life?
Jiang Secretary shook his head, indicating he didn't know.
These are probably secrets of the wealthy that they cannot know; it's better for a secretary not to know too much.
Jian Yunong walked into the conference room, and Le Yi slowly raised her head, her gaze meeting Jian Yunong's face.
Suddenly, she lunged forward. Jian Yunong thought Le Yi was going to hit her again like last time and instinctively took a step back. What she didn't expect was that Le Yi actually... knelt down.
Was this kneeling? Or did she fall?
It should be a fall.
However, Le Yi didn't immediately get up; instead, she crawled a few steps to her feet and grabbed Jian Yunong's pant leg with both hands. “Jian Yunong, you won, you really won. I'm begging you, let Third Brother allow me to go abroad. I want to see Yi Nansheng one last time! No matter what, let me bring his remains back. My child has never seen his father since he was born. At least let him send off Yi Nansheng!”
Jian Yunong felt weak all over, a buzzing in her ears, her eyes wide open and unfocused.
Le Yi was still crying out; this woman who was desperately pleading was the same one who had schemed for her to marry Huo Jincheng, still acting like a strong woman who was doing it for her own good?
Jian Yunong had never imagined that Le Yi would kneel before her.
Why did it feel like she couldn't understand what she was saying?
Jian Yunong took a step back. “Get up first.”
Le Yi stared blankly up at Jian Yunong, her unfocused gaze slowly coming back to reality. “Yi Nansheng is waiting for me; I need to find him quickly. What if he gets angry? If I don't go, Jian Yunong will go instead.”
Jian Yunong couldn't help but frown. Could Le Yi's words be trusted? She looked like one of those patients in a mental hospital having an episode, talking to herself without logic.
“Get up first, Le Yi. I really don't understand what you're saying.”
Upon hearing Jian Yunong, Le Yi's dazed expression reacted again as she made a shushing gesture.
"I'll tell you, Third Brother is back with Bai Ru. Jian Yunong can finally get a divorce. If she gets divorced, she will definitely get back together with Yi Nansheng, and that can't happen. I need to find Yi Nansheng before Jian Yunong does. Yi Nansheng is mine, mine! I haven't even signed the divorce agreement yet; I'm still his wife."
Jian Yunong looked down at the chattering Le Yi and confirmed one thing: this person really has mental issues.
The door to the conference room opened, and familiar footsteps echoed—heavy leather shoes striking the floor, one after another, as the pressure in the air surged like a tide.
Huo Jincheng's deep and cold voice rang out, "Take Fourth Young Lady away."
Fourth Young Lady refers to Le Yi.
Le Yi jumped up suddenly, resembling a frightened mouse dodging a doctor and bodyguards.
In the end, this weak woman collapsed from exhaustion, hitting her forehead and bleeding slightly.
She felt nothing, just stared wide-eyed at Jian Yunong as if that fall had awakened her completely. "Jian Yunong... Jian Yunong... what I just said..."
Huo Jincheng forcefully interrupted her, "What are the doctors doing? Didn't they see Fourth Young Lady is injured? You can't even handle this little matter?"
Here it comes again.
When Huo Jincheng was in a bad mood, he would lash out at his subordinates.
Le Yi suddenly rolled her eyes and fainted.
What she was going to say next was something Jian Yunong couldn't guess. She could only watch as the fainted Le Yi was taken away, feeling an indescribable complexity in her heart.
Huo Jincheng turned around, his dark gaze fixed on Jian Yunong. "Why aren't you at home preparing for your retest? What are you doing here?"
His tone was disdainful, seemingly blaming her for wandering around.
Jian Yunong took a deep breath. "I have something I want to ask you."
A hint of mockery appeared in Huo Jincheng's eyes. "So you finally have something to ask me."
He held Jian Yunong's hand and said, "We can talk about it when we get home."
Jian Yunong followed his lead and walked outside.
He wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
"Let's go to the hospital."
After getting into the car, Huo Jincheng instructed the driver in the front seat.
Jian Yunong sat apart from him, with enough space in between for two more people.
"Come sit over here."
Huo Jincheng gently patted the seat next to him. His calm tone carried an undertone of command that was impossible to refuse.
Jian Yunong glanced at him and said, "I want to go back and read. I don't want to go to the hospital with you."
She had no interest in seeing him comfort Bai Ru's child or accompany Bai Ru.
Huo Jincheng's expression darkened, his gaze fixed on her intensely. He raised his voice, exuding a strong sense of intimidation, "Don't make me say the same thing twice."
