"Yes, we met him last night, and now he's occupying Shinichi's father's body," Righty explained seriously.
"It's unbelievable, Uncle has always been so kind," Rimi struggled to accept the fact, a hint of pain flashing in her eyes.
"I know this is hard to accept, but now we must face this fact. We must be prepared for him to come back again and deal with him as soon as possible." Righty spoke firmly.
"I agree. But before that, we must ensure that Shinichi's physical condition is stable. Mi and I will be here to guard you for the next few days, and I will call our parents."
Rimi turned to look at Shinichi, his face still pale, but better than before.
Rimi's home.
"Rimi, you've been taking a lot of time off recently, and you've been going to Shinichi's house all the time. This isn't very appropriate," Rimi's mom seemed a little worried.
"Mom, Shinichi has a problem. His dad has been missing for several days, and his mom is at her parents' house. Winter break is coming up soon, and his schoolwork is still okay," Rimi responded in a serious tone.
"Missing? Is it that serious?" Rimi's mom furrowed her brow, clearly very worried about the situation.
"Yes, Mom, this matter is very serious. Shinichi and I are both working hard to find his father's whereabouts," Rimi said firmly, determination shining in her eyes.
"Have you found any clues?" Rimi's mom asked.
"There are some, but not enough. We need more time to search," Rimi replied.
Rimi's mother took a deep breath and nodded, "Well, if this matter is really that serious, then you should go. But take care of yourself, and if there's any danger, immediately call the police or find us."
"Thank you, Mom. I can do it." Rimi smiled and then left home, feeling full of pressure and nervousness.
If that's the case, two days passed, and Shinichi woke up.
Shinichi slowly opened his eyes, and the first thing he saw was Rimi's worried face. He tried to sit up, but a severe dizziness immediately made him give up the idea.
"Shinichi, you're finally awake. How are you feeling?" Rimi asked, her voice filled with concern.
"I feel like I've been hit by a truck," Shinichi said with a wry smile.
"You'd better lie down first. Your body is still very unstable right now," Righty interjected.
"So it wasn't a dream after all?" Shinichi said, with a bewildered expression on his face.
"Dreams? How can they be so real." Mi stood aside and observed quietly, then suddenly spoke.
"If this is just a dream, how wonderful would that be." Shinichi sighed.
Rimi walked to his bedside, gently took his hand, and said, "Even in reality, we will face it together. You are not alone."
Shinichi looked at Rimi and nodded. "I know, thank you, Rimi."
"No need to thank me, this is what I should do," Rimi responded with a smile.
"Shinichi, Auntie called earlier. You should give her a call back, it's better." Rimi said, her voice steady but with a hint of urgency.
At the moment Shinichi slowly sat up, Rimi felt a sharp twist in her heart.
She looked at Shinichi's exhausted and regretful face, as if she could glimpse the endless pain in the depths of his heart.
"He can't bring himself to tell his mother directly that his father is dead," Rimi thought. Because everything was too sudden, too heavy.
"So, at least give her a call to let her know you're safe," Rimi tried to break the silence.
Shinichi closed his eyes, as if organizing his thoughts. "I will find a way," he finally said.
Shinichi furrowed his brows, then picked up the phone and made a call.
"Mother, it's me, Shinichi," Shinichi said, his voice sounding a bit hoarse.
"Oh, Shinichi, what's wrong? Your voice sounds off," Izumi Shikibu asked, her tone filled with concern.
"Mom, I can't say much right now, but please don't go home and don't contact Dad." Shinichi said, trying to keep his tone as calm as possible.
"Shinichi, what on earth is happening?" Izumi Shikibu's voice became increasingly anxious.
"Mom, please believe me, this is for your safety. I will resolve everything as soon as possible," Shinichi said, then hung up the phone.
He placed the phone back on the bedside table, feeling a sense of emptiness in his heart. Just then, Rimi walked over and gently embraced him.
"Shinichi, you did very well," she said softly.
Shinichi felt a pang of sadness and held Rimi tightly. "But I still feel like I'm running away from something."
Shinichi and Rimi walked in the school corridor, with dappled shadows of trees and sunlight casting a lifelike glow on every corner. However, for them, such a beautiful scene couldn't lift the burden in their hearts.
"Recently, there have been more and more cases of women going missing here. I feel like it's related to my dad's disappearance," Shinichi said with a heavy tone.
Rimi furrowed her brow, her expression unusually serious. "I feel the same way, Shinichi. We need to take action, we can't wait any longer."
"Where should we start then?" Shinichi asked, his gaze sharp.
"We could start by investigating the last known locations of the recently missing women, to see if we can find any clues," Rimi suggested.
Shinichi nodded, knowing that time was running out and he had to act fast. "Okay, let's do it this way."
Shinichi and Rimi both looked at the community bulletin board at the same time. On it, there were multiple pieces of information and photos of missing women outlined in red.
"It seems like this problem is getting more and more serious," Rimi said with a heavy tone, her eyes seeming to see through everything.
"Yes, we can't just stand by and do nothing anymore," Shinichi tightly clenched his fist, his expression more serious than ever before.
The two of them decided to first investigate several locations where the missing woman had recently appeared.
One of the places is a remote alley, surrounded by a dark environment, with occasional scattered garbage and abandoned items. At the end of the alley is an abandoned factory, apparently untouched for a long time.
"The atmosphere here is really eerie, I feel like something might happen," Rimi said nervously, her palms starting to sweat.
Shinichi felt a chill running up his spine. He looked at his Right hand, which was his parasite " Right".
"Do you feel something, Right?"
"There's a strange atmosphere, but I can't determine what it is. Stay alert." "Right" responded calmly.
