Hua Liunian and Xia Yu did not find a cave to avoid the rain, but fortunately, the rain gradually lessened.
As soon as they reached the foot of the mountain, Green Qi eagerly walked away from Mu Tongzi and reached out to stop Chema from slipping inside.
Thinking back to following Mu Tongzi closely on the mountain, she felt an inexplicable anxiety. There were no landmines ahead, yet Mu Tongzi insisted that she follow without deviating a single step.
The driver waiting at the foot of the mountain saw the drenched President and quickly opened the car door. Mu Tongzi slowly rolled down the window, thinking about the fleeing figure, a faint smile appearing at the corners of her mouth, her eyes shimmering with light.
The car stopped in front of the hotel, and Xia Yu quietly walked to the car door. "President, please go in and rest!"
"Mm." Mu Tongzi nodded, coldly turning to walk towards the hotel.
Behind her, Hua Liunian looked at her stern figure leaving and turned in surprise to Xia Yu. "Does Tongzi have feelings for that woman?"
Xia Yu nodded, recalling how President had gone to great lengths to have him investigate a woman. He had clearly seen that hunting gaze in President's eyes. However, this woman was married, which could pose problems given President's status.
Without further explanation, he quickly followed the figure ahead and stepped into the hotel lobby, where Madam Mu's figure appeared. Seeing the soaked Mu Tongzi, she hurried over. "How did you get caught in the rain? Quickly go back to your room and take a shower!"
Madam Mu pulled Mu Tongzi and turned towards the elevator. "Why didn't you tell me you arrived yesterday? You made me worry for nothing!" While scolding him, she wiped off the water from his clothes, treating him like a child.
Mu Tongzi took the handkerchief from Madam Mu's hand and smiled lightly. "Mom, I'm not a child anymore. I originally wanted to surprise you by coming to accompany you to see the Art Exhibition. I ran into Hua Liunian at the airport and made plans to hike today; I didn't expect it to rain."
"Why stay at a hotel instead of your grandfather's house? And now you've gotten caught in the rain; how can I not worry?" Madam Mu continued to fuss over him.
Upon entering the suite, Mu Tongzi casually took off his shirt and turned to sit on the nearby European-style sofa, his sturdy, wheat-colored physique making it hard to look away.
"Xia Yu, have the driver take Madam Mu back," he said as he stood up and walked toward the bathroom.
"Okay." Xia Yu gestured for Madam Mu to leave.
"We're having dinner at grandpa's house tonight; mom will go back first." Madam Mu understood her son well, knowing he had always been afraid of her scolding.
After Mu Tongzi finished his shower, he poured himself a glass of red wine and took a sip, the rich and robust aroma swirling in his mouth. He picked up the landline phone from the cabinet and dialed a number: "Check the room number for Gu Lvq Qi."
"What! Already checked out? When?" Hearing the receptionist's response, he raised his hand and slammed down the phone.
Sitting on the sofa, he rubbed his aching forehead and couldn't help but smile wryly.
Over the years, he had always been indifferent and aloof in front of others. Coupled with his noble background, everything he desired was easily obtainable. Women were merely playthings for him, but unexpectedly, something unusual happened with this woman; perhaps she was special enough.
Xia Yu knocked and entered. "President, the driver has already taken Madam Mu back."
"Mm. Do you know why Mrs. Jiang came to L City?"
"She came to attend her good friend Su Jimo's Art Exhibition." Xia Yu was momentarily taken aback; he had just seen President smile.
"Got it. You can go now," he said lazily.
Since you are here to see the Art Exhibition, it means you haven't left yet—
