Returning to the Jiang Family Old Residence, Jiang Liyuan was indeed waiting in the living room with Mrs. Jiang, and laughter occasionally echoed from their conversation, creating a scene that resembled a real family.
As Green Qi stepped into the living room, she politely greeted Mrs. Jiang and Madam Jiang, but as expected, Mrs. Jiang responded with her usual cold demeanor while Madam Jiang smiled back. Zhuang Qiuyi looked at her empty hands with increasing disapproval and then scrutinized her outfit. “What are you wearing? Do you think it reflects the dignity and elegance that Mrs. Jiang requires from a high-society family? If you’re not from a prestigious background and don’t know how to dress, then you need to learn. Just look at Li Yuan; learn how she dresses!”
Jiang Liyuan, who was being praised, wore a proud expression. Her figure was already curvaceous, and her pale yellow suit was a high-end custom piece that undoubtedly highlighted her ample bosom and slender waist.

With her eyes lowered, Green Qi quietly listened to Mrs. Jiang’s lecture while standing next to Jiang Chengmu. This scene was all too familiar to her; she had grown immune to it over time.
In the past, when she brought gifts back, they would say she couldn’t buy anything and wasted the Jiang family's money. When she returned dressed appropriately, they would say she was too stiff. No matter what she did, it seemed wrong; she understood that Mrs. Jiang’s dissatisfaction was purely directed at her.
As usual, she waited for Mrs. Jiang's monotonous sermon with a quiet demeanor that suggested it had nothing to do with her.
At that moment, Madam Jiang came out of the kitchen carrying fruits and saw Green Qi still standing. She waved for her to sit down; she still found this daughter-in-law she had personally chosen quite agreeable.
“Mom, after all, Green Qi is someone I brought into the Jiang family. It’s rare for both kids to be back for a meal together; we should all get along,” said Jiang Liyuan.
Mrs. Jiang remained silent with a cold face, but Jiang Liyuan interjected beside her, “Grandma, Mom is right. Don’t say that about my sister-in-law; being unkempt isn’t something that happens overnight. You need to give her time to improve.” After saying this, she shot Green Qi a provocative glance.
She brought a piece of strawberry to Mrs. Jiang's mouth while continuing to speak soothingly yet suppressively towards Green Qi, completely disregarding her sister-in-law Gu Lvq Qi.
Mrs. Jiang particularly enjoyed having her way, and compared her favorably against the granddaughter-in-law she disliked, showing clear favoritism.
Looking at her obedient granddaughter in front of her, Zhuang Qiuyi chuckled lightly, "Li Yuan is still considerate and sensible, not annoying at all."
Hearing his grandmother's scolding, Jiang Chengmu turned to the silent woman beside him and frowned slightly, "Grandma, what's most important at home is comfort and being natural; don't pay too much attention to those superficial things."
"What are you talking about, you little rascal? How can you speak to your grandmother like that? Can't the elders scold the juniors when they make mistakes?"
As soon as Zhuang Qiuyi heard Precious Grandson defending that unpleasant woman, her expression immediately darkened.
"Grandma, I just spoke my mind without any disrespect towards you. If you really feel that Mrs. Jiang is causing you distress, we simply won't come back anymore."
