On a summer evening, a gentle breeze swept through the city streets, bringing a hint of coolness. The twinkling lights between the tall buildings reflected the figures of Gu Pan and Zhou Ziheng. In this bustling city, they seemed to form a harmonious and peaceful scene.
Gu Pan walked with a light step, humming a tune while admiring the night view along the street. Her face was filled with a contented smile. This was her familiar city, and also the place where she and Zhou Ziheng created memories together.
Zhou Ziheng has always had a lazy posture, with his hands in his pockets and a hint of disdainful smile on his lips. "Sister, what tune are you humming? It sounds like a popular song, but not quite right," he teased.
Gu Pan stopped in her tracks, turned to him and stuck out her tongue mischievously, replying, "Brother, this is a new song I've been working on recently, so don't criticize it." She blinked and her smile revealed a hint of playfulness.
They continued to stroll through the dimly lit streets, with pedestrians passing by from time to time, leaving behind hurried footsteps and soft conversations. Zhou Ziheng occasionally stopped to capture some beautiful night scenes with his phone, while Gu Pan patiently waited by his side.
"Bro, look at those beautiful neon lights over there," Gu Pan pointed to a row of colorful lights in the distance, his eyes shimmering with longing for beautiful things.
Zhou Ziheng Following her instructions, he looked with a hint of appreciation in his eyes. He picked up the camera, aimed it at the row of colored lights, and gently pressed the shutter. In the photo, the glow of the colored lights intertwined with the Gu Pan clear eyes, creating a touching scene.
Gu Pan Curiously leaning over, she looked at the photo on the camera screen and couldn't help but exclaim in surprise, "Brother, you took it so well! I look like a star."
Zhou Ziheng Looking at her reaction, a hint of tenderness crossed his heart. He responded with a gentle smile, "Of course, my photography skills are top-notch. But with such a beautiful model, how could the photos not turn out well?"
Gu Pan Her face blushed, she lowered her head and softly said, "Brother, you're teasing me again."
Zhou Ziheng saw her reaction and gently patted her head, "Just kidding, don't be mad. Let's go, we'll go eat something."
They arrived at a uniquely styled small restaurant. The soft lighting and cozy atmosphere made them feel comfortable. They chose a window seat and ordered some specialty snacks.
Gu Pan I took a bite and couldn't help but praise: "Wow, this is really delicious! Brother, you made a great choice."
Zhou Ziheng responded with a smile: "I found this place by chance. I didn't expect it to be such a pleasant surprise."
In a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, they enjoyed delicious food and chatted about everyday matters. Gu Pan was playful at times and serious at others, and every expression of hers brought joy to Zhou Ziheng.
After dinner, they walked out of the small and cozy restaurant together, strolling slowly in the night. Under the streetlight, Gu Pan's face was reflected like a fairy in a painting, with a faint halo dancing on her cheeks, making her look even more beautiful and charming. Zhou Ziheng's gaze involuntarily fell on her face, and his emotions were complex and difficult to express.
"Brother, what's wrong with you? You've been staring at me for so long." Gu Pan She tilted her head slightly, gazing at him with her characteristic curiosity, and teasingly asked.
Zhou Ziheng sighed lightly, lazily averted his gaze, and a faint, almost imperceptible smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. "Nothing, I was just thinking, you've really grown up, Xiao Tauzi."
Gu Pan Hearing this nickname, I couldn't help but smile, with a mischievous glint in my eyes. She lowered her head slightly, pretending to be shy, but her heart was racing. Still, she retorted defiantly, "Of course, I'm getting more and more mature. You, old man, have to keep up with me."
Zhou ZihengListening to her half-serious and half-playful banter, a doting glint unconsciously appeared in his eyes. He gently tousled her hair, as if teasing a playful little animal, "Yes, yes, little fool, I will do my best."
They continued to stroll along the street, their steps light and slow. The coolness of the night air mixed with a faint floral scent. Everything around them seemed unusually quiet, with only the sound of their footsteps and occasional laughter breaking the tranquility.
Gu Pan Occasionally, they would stop and marvel at the flowers on the street corner or the small decorations in the shop windows. Whenever this happened, Zhou Ziheng would impatiently shake his head, but unconsciously follow her pace, seemingly infected by her boundless energy and enthusiasm.
The night breeze blew gently, brushing their hair and clothes. At this moment, it seemed that there was a subtle change in their hearts, but they couldn't quite explain what it was.
Back at home, Gu Pan stood in front of her own room, glanced back at Zhou Ziheng's room. Her heart was filled with conflict and struggle, unsure of how to face this sudden surge of emotions.
She gently entered her room, closed the door, leaned against it, and took a deep breath. Her heart was filled with confusion, not knowing what to do.
Zhou Ziheng lay on the bed, looking at the ceiling, with complex emotions in his heart. He kept recalling the time spent with Gu Pan, from her shy demeanor when she first moved in, to their current intimacy. He realized that Gu Pan had surpassed the boundaries of a normal sister in his heart. But this emotion was bittersweet for him because he didn't know how to face this sudden change.
The next day, Gu Pan and Zhou Ziheng met at the breakfast table. The atmosphere was somewhat awkward, and they both tried to avoid each other's gaze. After breakfast, Zhou Ziheng said to Gu Pan, "I have some things to take care of today, so I might come back later."
Gu Pan nodded and forced a slight smile, "Brother, take care and don't overwork yourself."
Zhou Ziheng smiled at her, turned and left the house. Gu Pan Watching his departing figure, the inner conflict grew stronger.
Gu Pan Watching Zhou Ziheng walk away, she felt an indescribable emotion welling up inside. She thought to herself that perhaps she should go out for a walk today to shift her focus. She put on casual sportswear, casually tied her long hair into a bun, and got ready to go out.
She wandered aimlessly on the street, and suddenly at the entrance of a park, she saw Zhou Ziheng. He was chatting and laughing with a girl with long, elegant hair who looked very fashionable. Her heart sank with Gu Pan, and a strange sense of bitterness surged up in her heart. She didn't understand why she would have such a reaction, only feeling increasingly restless.
She approached slowly, and heard the conversation between Zhou Ziheng and the girl. Zhou Ziheng spoke in a relaxed tone, with his characteristic sense of humor. Gu Pan watched them, involuntarily furrowing her brows, her expression turning cold.
Zhou Ziheng noticed the arrival of Gu Pan and quickly said goodbye to the girl, walking towards Gu Pan. "Hey, Panpan, what's wrong? Why are you here?" he asked, with concern in his eyes.
Gu Pan coldly replied, "Brother, I just came out for a walk and happened to see you. Do you know that girl? It looks like you have a good relationship."
Zhou Ziheng smiled and explained, "She was my classmate in college and happened to run into her here. We just chatted about recent events, nothing special." He looked at Gu Pan and sensed her displeasure.
Gu Pan felt a stronger sense of bitterness in her heart, but she didn't want to show it. She responded coldly, "Oh, I see." She turned away and didn't look at him again.
Zhou Ziheng felt a little confused, unsure why Gu Pan would react like that. He asked softly, "Panpan, are you feeling unwell?"
Gu Pan shook her head and said with a forced smile, "It's nothing, I'm just a little tired. I'm going home first." With that, she quickened her pace, leaving Zhou Ziheng standing in place.
Zhou Ziheng looked at the departing figure, not understanding why she suddenly became so distant. After thinking for a while, he decided to go home and have a good talk to resolve the doubts in his heart.
When Zhou Ziheng returned home, he immediately sensed the unusual atmosphere in the living room. Gu Pan was sitting on the sofa, curled up with her feet, looking into the distance with a somewhat absent-minded expression. His footsteps were light and slow, as if afraid of disturbing her thoughts. Sitting beside her, he tried to break the silence with a gentle and caring tone: "Panpan, if there's anything on your mind, you can tell me. Haven't we always been able to confide in each other?"
Gu Pan looked up at the sound and her expression instantly became complicated. Her eyes swept over Zhou Ziheng's face, seemingly evaluating his reaction. After some struggle, she finally spoke out, her voice tinged with uncertainty: "Brother, I don't know why, but when I see you with that girl, I feel uncomfortable. I know I shouldn't feel this way, but I just can't control my emotions."
After hearing this, Zhou Ziheng was taken aback. His brows furrowed slightly, as if pondering something. Then, he gently took Gu Pan's hand and spoke earnestly and sincerely: "Panny, you don't have to feel uneasy about this. In fact, I have similar feelings. When I see you talking to other boys, I also feel a bit uncomfortable."
Gu Pan flashed a hint of surprise in her eyes, then she sighed softly, her confusion deepening: "Brother, what's happening to us?"
Zhou Ziheng's expression became more serious, his eyes deep as if searching for an answer: "Panpan, perhaps our relationship has truly surpassed that of ordinary siblings. But we need time to understand and accept all of this. We are both still exploring our feelings, and nothing is absolute."
Gu Pan She nodded, her eyes shimmering with contemplation. Leaning back on the sofa, she took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down. Her voice was low but firm: "Hmm, you're right, we need time. Brother, no matter what the outcome is, I don't want our relationship to become awkward or distant."
Zhou Ziheng Smiling, his eyes filled with understanding. He gently stroked her hair and said in a lazy yet firm voice, "Don't worry, Panpan, no matter what, I'll be by your side."
