"You... you..." Madam Jiang stared at Precious Grandson, unable to believe he would say such a thing.
"Grandma, I've already made up my mind. We will live well together."
"Oh, Xiaomu, you've been cheated on. How can you still endure this?" The quiet Aunt suddenly interjected, looking at Gu Lvq Qi with pride and disdain.
"Aunt, knowing one's mistakes and being able to improve is a great thing. I also have things I regret about Qiqi. This is my own matter, so there's no need for you to worry!"
"Ha... look at what this kid is saying. Mom, don't bother with him anymore. Once he suffers a bit in the future, he'll naturally understand our good intentions!"
Since they were already married and Gu Lvq Qi was chosen by their own sister-in-law, it didn't matter if the parties involved had no objections. Even if they opposed it, it would be useless. It was better to let him suffer a bit; once he figured it out on his own, he would divorce without anyone needing to persuade him!
"Then thank you, Aunt!" Jiang Chengmu smiled lightly and turned to look at the silent woman beside him, just as the butler came in to announce that dinner was ready.
"Grandma, I'm hungry. Let's eat quickly!" Ma Xuxu was the only one in the Jiang family who was kind to Green Qi and quickly tried to ease the situation.
"Let's eat first!" Hearing her most beloved granddaughter say she was hungry, Madam Jiang leaned on her cane and led everyone toward the dining room.
At the back, Green Qi turned to look at the man who inexplicably helped her and felt it was unbelievable. "Why did you help me just now?"
"You are my wife; who else should I help?" In this household, perhaps Madam Jiang was keen on maintaining this marriage, and no one wished for them to divorce.
Divorce would only mean fulfilling her wishes, right? There’s no way that would happen! No matter what, he would not get divorced!
After finishing dinner and stepping out, Green Qi received a call from Mu Tongzi. She glanced at the people in the living room and hurried to the bathroom to answer.
"I'm at the Jiang family now; I can't make it today, you..."
"Got it." On the other end of the line, Mu Tongzi said three words lightly before hanging up.
Listening to the beeping sound from the phone, Green Qi was slightly taken aback, thinking he might be angry.
Just as she came out of the bathroom, Jiang Chengmu happened to walk over. She looked up at him and put away her phone. "When are we leaving? I want to go home."
"Weren't we supposed to go to my place?" Jiang Chengmu smiled and reached out his hand to her. "Let's go tell them we're leaving, then we can head home!"
"To my house!" She stood still, deliberately emphasizing her point.
"Alright, I'll go back to your house with you!" He chuckled, intentionally misinterpreting her meaning.
"That's not what I meant; we each go back to our own homes!" Turning her head away, she was too lazy to continue talking to him.
After finally escaping from the Jiang family, Green Qi sat in the passenger seat and sighed lightly.
"Wife, it's already late; can you let me stay over tonight?" Jiang Chengmu broke the silence in the carriage with a half-smile.
"Don't even think about it! It's only nine o'clock; it's still early!"
"..." With a resentful glare, Jiang Chengmu snorted lightly, a glimmer of coldness flashing in his eyes. "One day you will be willing!"
"Then let's talk about it when I'm willing!" Delaying was her only strategy for now; every day she could postpone was a victory!
Green Qi had just returned home when she received a call from Mu Tongzi. She peeked at the figure that had already entered the elevator and answered the phone.
"I'm almost at your door, come out and open it!" The short sentence carried a hint of displeasure.
