"You..." seemed to not expect him to be so persistent. Green Qi was slightly taken aback, her brows furrowing immediately. "Jiang Chengmu, how can you be so shameless!"
She thought he would at least have some self-respect and pride as a young master. After being scolded so harshly by her, he would surely turn and leave. But she didn't expect his shamelessness to be so high!
"Wife, it's not like this is the first day we've met!" He lightly tugged at the corner of his mouth, turned around, pulled over a chair, and sat down as if he were at home, completely ignoring Green Qi's fiery gaze. "Wife, have you had breakfast? Do you want me to go out and buy something for you?"
"..." Seeing his nonchalant demeanor, Green Qi almost wanted to grab a bucket of cold water to wake him up.
"Haven't eaten? Then I'll have my secretary bring something over. What do you want to eat? Beef noodles or Soup Dumplings?" He only knew she loved these two dishes; he wasn't very clear about the others.
"I've already eaten, no need for your flattery!" She snorted lightly and turned her head away, too lazy to deal with him.
Although her tone was already quite dismissive, she still wouldn't be swayed by him.
Mu Tongzi had been feeding her porridge for several meals in a row. Ever since she had that bowl of overpriced porridge last time, she could almost only drink the nutritious porridge he brought every day.
Now Jiang Chengmu, this clueless guy, actually tried to tempt her with beef noodles and Soup Dumplings. It was simply infuriating!
"Then how about I peel an apple for you?" Leaning over, he took an apple from the fruit basket on the table and pulled out a fruit knife to start peeling it.
In the VIP Ward, there were only two people. Yan Zili had been pulled out by Swallow Returns and hadn't come back yet. The two of them didn't speak; only the sound of Jiang Chengmu peeling the apple could be heard.
The atmosphere was somewhat dull. She turned her head to look at Jiang Chengmu, who was focused on peeling the apple with his head lowered. She was slightly surprised as she watched the entire peel come off in one continuous strip without breaking. His peeling skills were simply incredible!
"I didn't expect Jiang Shao to have such impressive skills just to please a woman!" She scoffed lightly, raising an eyebrow at him. "Isn't Lu Manqing still in the hospital? Why aren't you taking care of her?"
"I broke up with her a long time ago; her matters have nothing to do with me!" He cut a small piece of apple and held it up to her mouth, looking at her seriously. "Wife, let's live well together from now on! I promise this kind of thing won't happen again; it's all my fault, so please don't be angry!"
"Stop wasting your energy on me!" She turned her head away and brushed his hand aside. "I don't want to eat; you can have it yourself!"
"..." Once again hitting a brick wall, Jiang Chengmu dejectedly took back the apple. After a moment, he regained his playful demeanor. "Wife, what did the doctor say about your injury? How much longer do you need to stay in the hospital?"
"I'm being discharged tomorrow; there's no need for you to worry. Just go!" She picked up the iPad next to her pillow and started playing a game, not wanting to say another word to him.
"Then I'll come pick you up tomorrow! After you're discharged, stay at my place. We have a housekeeper who can take care of you. You should focus on recovering before going back to work! If you don't want to work, that's fine too; I'll support you from now on!"
"..." Green Qi looked up speechlessly, frowning at him. "Can you just calm down for a moment? I'm fine right now! Stop fussing and just leave!"
"..." Seeing her impatient expression, Jiang Chengmu didn't dare to annoy her further and could only stand up. "Then I'll head back to the company for now and come by later to see you."
