"Why is it so lively today!" Hua Liunian flipped through the folder in his hand and walked to the bedside to check on Green Qi's injuries. He then raised his head to look at the two men who were obviously at odds, smiling lightly, "Mu Shao, why didn't you notify me that this busy person was coming?"
"When I arrived, I heard the nurse say you were in surgery, so I came to see her first. How is she? She can be discharged tomorrow, right?" Mu Tongzi replied without changing his expression, perfectly reversing the tense atmosphere in the ward, making it seem like he genuinely came to visit a friend while also checking on a subordinate.
"She can be discharged tomorrow. She should rest well at home and come back for a follow-up in a week." As he spoke, he turned to Jiang Chengmu beside him, "Jiang Shao is here too; this is my first time meeting you!"
"You are Qiqi's attending physician, right?" Jiang Chengmu came back to his senses, furrowing his brow as he glanced at Mu Tongzi and then looked at the warm and gentle Flower Boy doctor in front of him. "Thank you for taking care of Qiqi's injuries!"
"This is my job; no need to thank me!" He smiled politely and turned to Mu Tongzi, "If you haven't had lunch yet, let's go together!"
"Sure!" Mu Tongzi nodded and glanced at the woman on the bed who was stunned, deliberately saying, "You can reimburse me for the medical expenses later."
"Thank you for your kindness, Mu Zong, but we can cover the medical expenses ourselves!" Even though he knew Mu Tongzi was just here to check on a subordinate, Jiang Chengmu still felt hostile towards him.
"Whatever; I just want to fulfill my responsibilities as a superior." He tilted his head and glanced at the woman on the bed again. "Rest well!"
After saying that, he was the first to leave the ward. Hua Liunian looked at Jiang Chengmu and chuckled lightly before following him out.
As soon as they left, Green Qi raised her eyes to Jiang Chengmu, who seemed intent on picking a fight, looking displeased. "Jiang Chengmu, what's wrong with you?"
"Nothing much; I just don't like him being too close to you! The charm of Mu Tongzi is irresistible to all women in A City. I'm afraid Mrs. Jiang you might put me in a difficult position again. One Xue Yiyang is already enough for me; I can't handle another Mu Tongzi!"
"You really are boring!" She snorted lightly, lowered her head, picked up the medicinal porridge, and started eating it bite by bite.
Taking advantage of the time while Jiang Chengmu was at work, Green Qi had Yan Zili handle the discharge procedures. When they got home, she sent a message to Mu Tongzi, but he didn't reply. After a long while, she received a call from him.
"Make sure to rest well. I've been quite busy these past few days, so I hired a caregiver to take care of you," his deep voice on the other end carried an undeniable authority.
"No need for that. I can take care of myself, especially since IKEA is here too. Really, there's no need to trouble anyone."
"Let the caregiver look after you for a while. We'll talk about it once your hand is better! Alright, I have a meeting now; I'll call you later!"
After hanging up, she turned to Yan Zili, who had come in she didn't know when, and smiled lightly. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
Yan Zili plopped down beside her and grabbed her arm, shaking it lightly. "Why do I feel like you've fallen in love? Look at your expression in the mirror; it's one of those sweet looks only someone in love would have! Come on, admit it—do you like Mu Tongzi?"
She had only caught the gist of the previous call, but she could guess what was said.
