Bai Yujing leaned against the sofa, the noisy sounds from the television filling the room. He kept flipping through the contents of a diary, ensuring that nothing was overlooked before finally closing the half-century-old diary and placing it on the table.
Bai Yujing picked up the keychain again. According to Radar's hint, this item should also be related to the Leprechaun, which could only mean the small backpack hanging from it. He took the backpack off the keychain; it was exquisitely made, using a drawstring closure instead of a zipper.
Bai Yujing carefully examined the small backpack with a magnifying glass. Each small compartment had tiny stitches, and there were small embroidered patterns on it. He even noticed several special symbols on the side that he couldn't decipher.
"Is this Leprechaun writing?" Bai Yujing couldn't help but wonder.
As he thought about this, he immediately opened the Exotic Creature Hunter System and accessed the shop, searching for Leprechaun language under skills. However, what came up was a Lilliput language. Bai Yujing was taken aback and quickly recalled that Lilliput was a name from Gulliver's Travels.
"Lilliputian Language: Not available!" Upon seeing this, Bai Yujing realized that such a language did exist, but it seemed that the system hadn't included it. The pricing for language skills appeared to depend on their influence and number of speakers; Mandarin and English were the most expensive, while some minor languages were relatively cheaper. If Lilliputian Language were available, its price likely wouldn't be too high.
Bai Yujing chose not to exchange points for money, believing it to be a foolish and unwise action. He felt that using points for body attributes or skills was not worth what little money could buy. He decided he wouldn't engage in such foolishness unless he truly ran out of money.
Thus, his thirty points remained intact. Just as Bai Yujing was pondering how to understand the meaning of these characters, a pop-up appeared in the Exotic Creature Hunter System indicating that he could unlock a dictionary translation feature for 5 points.
Bai Yujing considered this to be quite worthwhile and immediately clicked to activate it. The window began to change and eventually settled into two boxes: one for input and another for output.
Being familiar with computer translation functions, Bai Yujing quickly selected Lilliputian Language on one side and carefully transcribed the text from the thumb-sized backpack into the input box while choosing Chinese for output on the other side.
It seemed that this writing was also unfamiliar to him; the translation function page continuously processed and compared until it finally determined the meanings of these symbols.
Bai Yujing looked again at the text on the thumb-sized backpack; these characters appeared to represent a person's name.
"Alice!" Bai Yujing silently read aloud.
Suddenly, there was a series of loud bangs outside as fireworks erupted. Bai Yujing glanced at the clock hanging on the wall and realized it was already eleven o'clock at night.
He stood up and looked out of the window toward where the fireworks were rising. This must be when the Military Tattoo concluded and released celebratory fireworks. Bai Yujing immediately thought of Emma; indeed, the diary did not specify a detailed address but only described some surrounding environments. Having lived here for many years, Emma should be able to find an appropriate location.
Although the diary mentioned that the Leprechaun had moved away long ago and that this event had occurred half a century ago, their new location might still be nearby. A visit would surely yield some results.
Next, Bai Yujing began organizing the pictures he had taken today in his notebook, selecting those he felt were particularly good, adjusting lighting, brightness, and color tones before adding text and posting a lengthy Weibo update.
Among them are photos of myself and Emma, a picture of me startled by a quirky performance artist, and our reunion, the sights within Edinburgh Castle, various historical sites in the castle, performances on the Royal Mile, Chinese food near the train station, the peculiar show at A San, and playing hide and seek with my mom in Prince Street Gardens.
As I wrote, Bai Yujing realized that in just one day, my life had been filled with so many surprises and unimaginable moments. Looking at a photo of myself, exhausted yet happy with Emma at the top of Scott Monument, I couldn't help but smile.
Finally, I added a picture of myself at the Scottish National Gallery. After thinking for a moment, I also listed my expenses for the day so that others could have some reference when viewing it.
I decided to name this Weibo post—"The First Day in Edinburgh: Exploring the Castle with the Blonde Beauty Guide."
I felt this title was somewhat pretentious, but Bai Yujing wanted to use it anyway; no need to say more, just showing off.
After posting this Weibo update, I felt exceptionally tired. I turned off the lights and lay down on the bed, falling asleep immediately. This was quite rare for Bai Yujing, who often suffered from insomnia and was picky about beds.

"Yesterday's performance was amazing! The short skirts swayed gracefully during the grand parade; it was spectacular! Oh, and I saw your Chinese performance team dressed in green military uniforms," Emma stood up to demonstrate yesterday's scenes for Bai Yujing, mimicking the performers playing trumpets.
Bai Yujing woke up later than usual that morning and immediately called Emma, worried she might have other plans and leave. It would be troublesome to find her later. To my surprise, Emma was also quite impulsive; as soon as she received my call, she hurried over.
Emma's father's home is in New Town in Edinburgh, not far away. She is a university student but is currently on summer break, so she has plenty of free time until school starts again at the end of August.
I ordered breakfast for Emma from the hotel while mine was complimentary. I must say that the hotel's breakfast was very lavish and well-prepared; however, considering the price—well, it was still quite steep.

"Emma, I need your help!" I pulled out Will Hackman's diary from my bag and placed it on the table before pushing it toward Emma.
Emma paused for a moment before carefully picking up the diary: "Oh, what's this? An old notebook?"
I nodded: "That's right. The purpose of my trip to Edinburgh is related to this diary."
After saying that, I immediately sat beside Emma, picked up the notebook, flipped to one of its pages, and read it aloud to her.
"I seem to have discovered a little person at home—a tiny person no bigger than my thumb. He was stealing something; he is really small but incredibly fast. When I spotted him, he was hiding behind a bottle in the cupboard, thinking I hadn't noticed him."
I continued flipping through the notebook and gradually shared my findings from yesterday with Emma. As she listened intently, her mouth fell slightly open in astonishment.
"My goodness, Leprechaun, Gulliver's Travels? The legendary Lilliput!" She covered her mouth with her hands, unable to believe it.
Lilliput is the name of the place recorded in Gulliver's Travels. Bai Yujing didn't know if this had any connection to the Leprechaun in the real world, but when he learned about the name Leprechaun, he had read through Jonathan Swift's novel back in his home country.
"Have you read this novel too?" Bai Yujing asked.
Emma immediately replied, "Of course! My father gave me this novel when I was a child; it was a collector's edition. I'm very familiar with Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Flying Island Nation, and Huizhou. When I was little, I always dreamed of having such extraordinary adventures like Gulliver. Later, I joined the International Endangered Species Protection Organization; perhaps that was influenced by this."
Bai Yujing shrugged and smiled at Emma, "So, does the beautiful Miss Emma Bruce have any interest in joining me to unravel this mysterious puzzle? Perhaps it involves an endangered intelligent species that needs our brave heroine to protect it."
Emma had already made up her mind but pretended to be reserved. "Since you are so sincere, I suppose I can reluctantly agree to join you."
Bai Yujing was overjoyed. With Emma's support, this mission would have powerful backing. However, he still wanted to ask Emma, "Emma, do you really believe in Leprechauns?"
Emma immediately said, "There are too many mysteries in this world; there must be some exotic creatures we don't know about. That's only natural. And I believe you. This diary from half a century ago cannot be fake. No matter what happens, I'm willing to accompany you on this journey; after all, we are friends, aren't we?"
"Yes, we are friends!" Bai Yujing's face lit up with joy.
Bai Yujing then took out the small backpack he received yesterday and handed Emma a magnifying glass to share his findings with her.
"Is this something related to Leprechauns? This is truly amazing! Bai Yujing, you really are someone full of surprises!" Emma exclaimed as she held the small backpack. It was an exquisite bag with fine stitching visible under the magnifying glass. Bai Yujing even pointed out the tiny name on the side, which piqued Emma's curiosity even more.
