"Kids, we can worry later, but let's not forget to eat something," Laura called out as she set up a simple lunch on the table.
The house was filled with boxes and packages, looking a bit messy, but warm and full of the feeling of life.
Lunchtime, the family sat together, all with smiles on their faces, talking about their future plans.
"We could stay by the seaside, the scenery there must be beautiful," Nick suggested, his eyes shining with anticipation.
"It sounds good. We can go for a walk on the beach every day," Jack agreed, his voice sounding relaxed.
"I hope there's a library near our new home," Amy said, her face showing a dreamy smile.
"No matter where we go, as long as we're together, that's home," Laura said gently, her eyes filled with maternal love.
After lunch, the family continued to tidy up. Amy and Nick, while sorting through old items, occasionally reminisced about the past.
"Do you remember this?" Amy took out a diary from an old box, her voice tinged with nostalgia.
Nick walked over, looking at the diary, with a nostalgic expression on his face: "Of course I remember, that's when we found the secret passage for the first time."
"At that time, it was really exciting and terrifying," said Amy, her eyes flashing with memories of the past.
"Yeah, but we got through it together. We're the best team," Nick said with a smile, lightly patting Amy's shoulder.
Night falls, and the soft and warm light fills the home. Although they are leaving tomorrow, Amy and Nick are filled with anticipation for the future.
They sit on the sofa in the living room, quietly savoring their last night in their hometown.
"Amy, we will always be together, right?" Nick suddenly asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
Amy turned to look at him, her eyes determined: "Of course, Nick. Wherever we go, we will always be a family."
Nick's face showed a satisfied smile as he leaned on Amy's shoulder, feeling the warmth of his sister.
In the night sky outside, the stars twinkled as if blessing this family about to embark on a new chapter.
On this night, they fell asleep in a warm atmosphere, their dreams filled with beautiful hopes for the future.
The next day, the moving truck parked in front of the door. Amy and Nick helped load the boxes onto the truck, then bid farewell to the house filled with memories.
On the morning of the move, sunlight streamed through the windows onto Amy and Nick's faces, ushering in a new day. They were in the living room, organizing the last of their belongings, when the sound of a knock at the door shattered the morning calm.
Amy walked to the door and found their three neighbors standing outside: retired Broadway actor Alan, retired clergyman Francis, and retired lead singer of a band Michelle.
Alan had a warm smile on his face, holding a thick notebook and a delicate wooden box in his hands.
"Mr. Alan, Mr. Francis, and Ms. Michelle, you're here," Amy said in surprise, reaching out to greet them.
Alan entered the room first, wearing a gentle smile on his face. He gently placed a notebook and a wooden box on the coffee table. "This is a small gift I want to give you as a token of my respect for your courage and friendship."
Nick curiously approached and opened the notebook. The pages were densely filled with Alan's insights and research on those mysterious events, each page revealing his wisdom and experience.
"Over the years, I have been studying these supernatural occurrences. I believe these records may be helpful to you," Alan said with a hint of pride in his voice.
Amy and Nick looked at each other, their eyes filled with gratitude. Amy said softly, "This is so precious, thank you, Mr. Alan."
"Yes, I think it represents not only Jis, but also your courage and strength," Alan said with a smile, his eyes shining with approval.
Francis and Michelle also came over, with warm smiles on their faces.
Francis was holding a delicate cross, while Michelle brought a signed record from him.
Nick and Amy looked at each other with gratitude in their eyes. Amy whispered, "This is so precious, thank you both."
Curiously, Nick opened the small wooden box brought by Alan. Inside, there was a small crystal and next to it lay a puppet that bore a striking resemblance to Jis. The puppet's eyes shimmered with a warm light, as if silently telling a story.
Amy's eyes flashed with a hint of tears as she gently touched the puppet: "It's like Jis..."
"Yes, it represents your courage and strength," Alan said with a smile, his eyes shining with approval.
Francis handed the cross to Amy and gently said, "This is a symbol of blessing for your peace, I hope it brings you happiness."
Michelle handed the signed record to Nick and said, "This is my favorite record, I hope it brings joy to your new life."
The home is filled with a touching and warm atmosphere, as family and neighbors gather together, sharing their stories and hopes for the future.
Jack and Laura also come over and gather around to look at this special gift. The air is filled with deep emotion and warmth.
"We will never forget this experience, nor will we forget the help and support you have given." Jack said sincerely.
Alan nodded, a satisfied smile on his face. "I know you will be fine. Wherever you go, you will encounter new adventures, new challenges. Remember, always stay brave and kind, family will always be your most comforting support."
Amy and Nick once again expressed their gratitude to Alan, knowing that these words and gifts would become an indispensable part of their life journey.
The moving truck was already parked outside the door, and the family began to load the last boxes onto the truck. Alan stood at the doorway, watching them leave.
The vehicle slowly drove away, and Amy and Nick waved goodbye to Alan through the car window.
Their eyes were filled with anticipation and hope, and their hearts were filled with infinite dreams for the future.
The car turned the corner, and the old house gradually disappeared from view. Amy and Nick sat quietly, silently making wishes for their new life.
