The night street was silent and long. Izumi Shinichi walked home alone, filled with unease and complex emotions. Ever since his father Izumi Kazuyuki encountered a tragedy, Shinichi's life seemed to have been overturned by an invisible storm, everything became gloomy and unpredictable. 0

Entering the house, Shinichi found the living room dimly lit. Izumi Shikibu sat on the sofa, holding an old photo album, tears filling her eyes. 0

"Mom, are you okay?" Shinichi asked softly as he walked over and sat beside his mother. 0

Izumi Shikibu looked up, a hint of sadness mixed with a smile, "I'm fine, Shinichi. Just reminiscing about the past." 0

Shinichi quietly accompanied his mother as she flipped through the photo album, which documented every moment of their family. Each page contained the past joy and happiness, but now it seemed like a distant dream. 0

Pointing to a photo of Izumi Kazuyuki holding young Shinichi, Izumi Shikibu choked up, "Your father always loved you so much." 0

Shinichi looked at the photo, tears welling up in his eyes. "I know, Mom. I will never forget him." 0

Just then, the doorbell rang, breaking the silence of the room. Shinichi got up to answer the door, only to find Murano Rimi standing outside, her eyes filled with concern and worry. 0

"Shinichi, are you okay?" Rimi asked, her voice filled with warmth and support. 0

Shinichi nodded. "I'm hanging in there, Rimi. Thank you for coming to see me." 0

Rimi entered the living room and nodded at Izumi Shikibu, saying, "Aunt Nobuko, I heard about it, I'm really sorry." 0

Izumi Shikibu smiled and replied, "Thank you, Rimi. With you by Shinichi's side, I feel relieved." 0

Izumi Shikibu sat on the sofa at home, filled with tears in her eyes, tightly holding a photograph of Izumi Kazuyuki. The atmosphere in the living room was heavy, as if one could feel the solidification of every drop of sorrow. 0

Izumi Shinichi and Murano Rimi sat quietly beside each other, providing silent support for one another. 0

The doorbell rang from outside, and after Rimi went to answer it, the sound of four people's footsteps could be heard in the entranceway. 0

A middle-aged man in a neat suit, accompanied by two uniformed police officers, entered the room. Their presence added to the already heavy atmosphere. 0

"Madame Quan, we are from the Government Special Task Force, and we deeply regret the passing of your husband," the middle-aged man spoke with a tone of respect, but his eyes revealed a hint of inquiry. 0

Izumi Shikibu Lifted her head, the sadness on her face replaced by strength, "Thank you for coming, but right now I just want to be with my family." 0

The man nodded and said slowly, "We understand how you feel. The government is deeply sorry for Mr. Izumi's passing and will provide relevant insurance compensation and retirement benefits to help you and your son through this difficult time." 0

Shinichi looked around and sensed that there seemed to be some unknown secret hidden in the air. His brows furrowed slightly, "Those are not important. I just want to know, are you really just sorry for my father's death? Or is there another reason?" 0

The man's eyes flickered as he tried to maintain his composure, "Mr. Izumi, we are indeed here to express our condolences. However, regarding the cause of your father's death, we need to understand more details in order to conduct a formal investigation." 0

Rimi noticed the dissatisfaction and confusion on Shinichi's face, she gently held his hand to offer support. Izumi Shikibu silently shed tears, her crying revealing endless pain and incomprehension. 0

Shinichi took a deep breath, knowing he couldn't hide the existence of the parasite, but not wanting to worry his mother even more. He quietly said to the man, "If the government really intends to help, please keep your distance and don't interfere in our lives." 0

The man nodded, seemingly aware of an unknown secret between Shinichi and Rimi, but he did not pursue further questioning. The police officers stood by quietly observing the entire scene. 0

After the meeting, Shinichi and Rimi stood at the door watching the man and the police officers leave. The gentle night breeze carried away some of the heavy atmosphere. 0

"Shinichi, what do you think they know?" Rimi asked in a low voice, her eyes filled with worry. 0

Shinichi looked at the departing vehicle and pondered, "I'm not sure, but we must be careful. What we are facing may be far more complex than we imagine." 0

Rimi nodded, she knew that every word Shinichi said was not without basis. They were facing not only the pain of losing loved ones, but also a larger, unknown conspiracy slowly emerging. 0

Shinichi stood in the room, gazing at the night outside the window. The atmosphere in the room was heavy and cold, just like the conflict within him. 0

He knew he had made the right choice by killing the parasite that had taken over his father's body, but that didn't mean he wouldn't feel pain and loss. 0

His father, Izumi Kazuyuki, is no longer the person he once knew, but his appearance and voice have always been a familiar presence. 0

Rimi stood quietly by his side, knowing that Shinichi needed support and understanding at this moment. She knew that his heart was filled with conflict and confusion, and these emotions could not disappear overnight. 0

"Shinichi, don't suppress your emotions. Let them flow naturally," Rimi said softly, raising her hand to gently pat Shinichi's back. 0

Shinichi nodded, but his gaze remained heavy. "I know, Rimi, but I still feel the pain. Anyway, he's still my dad. I can't completely separate him from the parasite." 0

Rimi tightly held Shinichi's hand and said, "I understand, all of this is very difficult for you to accept. But you did the right thing, you saved more people, including your family. Your father also doesn't want to see more people harmed." 0

Shinichi took a deep breath and replied, "You're right, Rimi. I have to be strong, I can't let myself become a prisoner of pain." He struggled to break free from the confusion in his heart, trying to find himself again. 0

At that moment, the door to the room gently opened and Izumi Shikibu, Shinichi's mother, walked in. Her face bore deep sorrow, but also a hint of strength. 0

"Shinichi, Rimi, thank you," Izumi Shikibu's voice trembled as she looked at the two of them gratefully. 0

Shinichi and Rimi exchanged a glance, then Shinichi softly said, "Mom, we will always be by your side, no matter what happens." 0

Izumi Shikibu nodded, tears falling, "Thank you, we will hold a funeral for dad in seven days." 0
