When Sophia and Morris passed through the portal, they found themselves standing in an extraordinary place.
This new world was filled with bizarre sights: the sky was a deep blue, scattered with twinkling stars even in the daytime; the distant mountains shone like crystal, reflecting dazzling light.
Their feet were on a soft grassland, with sparkling dewdrops hanging on the tips of the grass, each dewdrop seemed to contain a tiny world. The surrounding trees were tall and verdant, their leaves emitting a faint glow, as if breathing gently.
"Where... where is this?" Sophia asked in amazement, her gaze curiously scanning the surroundings.
"I'm not sure, but this is definitely not any place we know," Morris replied, his gaze firm as if searching for any clues.
Suddenly, a mysterious figure in a robe emerged from the depths of the woods, their face indiscernible, seemingly obscured by magic, only revealing a pair of deep and knowledgeable eyes.
"Welcome to Esteron, the borderland between light and darkness," the mysterious figure said, with a calm yet powerful voice.
Sophia and Morris exchanged a glance, then cautiously approached the enigmatic mentor.
"Who are you? Why are we here?" Sophia asked.
"I am one of the guardians of this world. You are here because your fate is closely tied to the future of Esteron," the mentor explained.
He showed them an ancient book that contained the history of the world and mysterious knowledge. Sophia and Morris listened attentively, gradually understanding their mission.
"I will teach you new knowledge and power to help you control your own destiny," the mentor said.
In the next few days, Sophia and Morris followed their mentor to learn. They learned how to use the unique magic of this world, mastered the skills of manipulating elements, and gradually understood the secrets of Esteron.
After an intense training session, the mentor brought them to a mysterious lake with crystal-clear water and a small island in the center.
"The lake is known as the Lake of Destiny, and there is an energy spring on the island. This spring will grant you greater power," the mentor explained.
Sophia and Morris arrived at the island with the mentor by boat. On the island, there stood an ancient altar made of stones, with a glowing energy sphere at its center.
The mentor instructed them to place their hands on the energy ball and guided them through an ancient ritual.
As the ritual progressed, the energy ball began to emit a brilliant light, illuminating the entire altar. Sophia and Morris felt a warm energy flowing from their palms throughout their bodies, and their magic seemed to be greatly enhanced in that moment.
In the depths of the Esteron jungle, Sophia and Morris began their exploration and study of the flow of time. The forest was enchanted by their mentor with a special magic, causing time to flow unusually slowly there, with each falling leaf seeming to be guided down by an invisible hand.
"Focus your consciousness on every subtle change you feel," the mysterious mentor said, his voice calm yet powerful. "Feel the flow of time and try to resonate with it, guiding it."
Sophia Closed her eyes, hands gently suspended in the air, she began to feel the subtle changes in the flow of time around her. The gentle rustling of leaves, the distant murmur of a brook, and even the slightest shifts in the air were all within her perception.
"I feel it," she said softly, "time is like a thin thread, gently dancing on my fingertips."
"Alright, then let it flow according to your will," the mentor encouraged.
Sophia focused on projecting her thoughts onto the fine line of time, attempting to speed it up or slow it down. She felt a slight dizziness and then saw a leaf in front of her suddenly accelerate its fall, then slowly float back up.
At the same time, Morris was also practicing his own skills. He stood next to a huge tree, observing the swaying of the leaves. His eyes suddenly flashed with brightness, and then his movements became extremely slow, almost as if he had stopped altogether.
"What... what's going on?" Sophia asked in astonishment.
"He is synchronizing with the flow of time," the mentor explained. "Morris is now perceiving the passage of time much slower than we are here."
In the next few hours, Sophia and Morris continuously practiced the skill of controlling time. Gradually, they were able to control the flow of time in a larger range and with more precision.
As the sun slowly set, the two finally stopped practicing. They felt a bit tired, but their eyes were shining with excitement and satisfaction.
"Today's training was very successful," the instructor said with a smile. "You have already grasped the secret of time to some extent."
Sophia looked at Morris with amazement in her eyes. "We really did it, Morris."
Morris nodded, his face showing a confident smile: "Yes, we did it. But this is just the beginning, we have more secrets to explore."
As night fell, the starry sky of Esteron presented a magical beauty. Sophia and Morris sat by the tranquil lake, gazing at the twinkling night sky, contemplating the upcoming challenges and adventures.
"We have learned to control time, but that is only part of our journey," Morris reflected, "We still need greater strength and wisdom to face the unknown future."
"Yes, we cannot stop now," Sophia responded, her eyes determined and full of anticipation.
